This is the kind of music that we need right now, reminiscent of her body of work. Pure genius. Also, I love Mariah’s speaking voice and so glad they sometimes use it in her songs. Everyone should be in ecstasy with these Hopeful Child remixes. My only complaint is that the Hopeful Child remix, 16 min 20 sec, is not long enough. (Sunday 26 May 2024; 08:36)

Made For Me (remix) (106,542) by Robert-Anthony from United States I believe the reason the remix is still #1 is because of 2nd verse from MC. The rap style singing builds the song for the gospel style closing. MC just singing the 2nd verse probably would not have had the same effect. There is even a different beat with MC's verse. R&B fans of today love a major switch in song that is different from other parts in the song. For example, Sza's Good Days when she switches back and forth from subtle to fast pace singing to her low notes on the fan favorite last chorus line of "Good day living in my mind." I think the album should have been released in its original incarnation as "The Art of Letting Go" without songs like "Money", "One More Try" and "Heavenly". I don't know if this track list is accurate, but this was the rumored original track list in Summer 2013: 1. Make It Look Good 2. #Beautiful (feat. Miguel) 3. You're Mine 4. You Don't Know What To Do 5. Hope Street 6. Lullaby of Birdland - Interlude 7. The Art of Letting Go 8. I Can't Love U (feat. R. Kelly) 9. Mr. Operator 10. Hurricane 11. This Cannot Be Love 12. I'll Still Be Around (feat. Stevie Wonder) 13. Heart 14. Save The Day It seems credible since half of these tracks were released in some incarnation. I have a feeling Mariah has a ton of unreleased material from the 2009-2014 period. As others mentioned, you get a lot of different vocal textures, some throwback vibes, some freestyle. Mesmerizing, and it does bring to mind "Meteorite" in the refrain. (Friday 24 May 2024; 22:57)

I will admit there were times I wanted her to just go for it and give me some strong high belts like she did in the Honey Morales remix where she goes off vocally. It's apparent that she can't do that anymore but I still really like the remix. I think it can stand beside her 90's house mixes. I also think they her vocal condition is the reason why she has not moved forward with completing her album. She criticized Caution because she wasn't happy with it vocally and maybe she is hoping that her voice will get back to where she feels comfortable recording an album. She knows we are nitpicky about her vocals and doesn't want to be criticized for her vocals not being there. I hope she's working with a vocal coach to get better and not simply relying on vocal rest to repair her voice. Anyways, I love the remix and am happy with it for the most part. I don't think it's because of her voice, more to do with the song. Thankfully I don't hear the screeching and scratching that other people seem to. A nice addition to her remixes era. I am okay with it too, but it is very painful to listen to the Portrait remixes. Where does she go from here? The remix (106,491) by Shezz from Pk I don't think the song is bad at all Robert Anthony. I think the problem people are having is that it is nothing really new or fresh - it is the same mid tempo/slow RnB that she and JD have done to death. If rumours are to be believed, MC16 will have a different sound - more pop and dance focused which will be good for her to get back into mainstream audiences. The 'Yes, And' remix, had it been the original song it would have surely topped the charts with Ariana's first single pull and with the lambs also being onboard. Adding Mariahisms to older songs on their way out is what people are more against, I feel. I appreciate the fact that Ariana wanted Mariah's voice front and center even though it didn't work out as well as it should have. Shows the love and respect she has for 'mother' as she put it. Lets see if the new rumour about their next collaboration is true. It's supposed to be an original, not a remix. It may be for Ariana's deluxe edition that she is working on or maybe MC16 (one can dream). Funny that you mentioned "Lose Control". I had it on as I was reading your post. Now I understand why there hasn't been any new music for such a long time. In a new album, she would need to bring her voice to the forefront in all the tracks, and that’s what’s missing. The remix didn't do much for me in terms of making the song better and she sounds scratchy and far away. Maybe this is to appease her fans to say she's still releasing new music but this is not going to impact the charts at all. And it's not new music. I think the chorus is too busy and her verse seems very reminiscent of an old song of hers I can't quite place it. I don't really see this song doing much for Mariah. Mariah may perform with Muni Long tonight. If she does perform, it would explain why the Tuesday release date and why we are still only hearing snippets today. I heard another snippet on JD's X page with MC's whistle notes and a smooth ooh ooh in the intro before Muni Long comes in with the first verse. MC comes in with the second verse singing new lyrics reminisce of the fast singing she did in WBT second verse. This maybe the remix and live performance we have been waiting for from MC. I forgot all the things she's been through. Being dirty and unkept. The girls calling her the N-word and mulatto bitch. Alison throwing the tea in her face. Alison trying to have her pimped out. Alison offering her coke. Tommy holding a knife to her throat. Her mother having her arrested. Her mother telling her you'll never be as good a singer as me. Yes, I'd like to know what happened to the voice. Yes, I'd like her to stop lipping and start doing things in her current register. But I am glad this woman is still alive and here with us. People have not made it through life going through less. I can't say I'll always succeed but I will try to give MC a little more grace in the future than I have in the past. When I saw my search come on my screen, I saw two names in addition to JD that made me smile. I saw that the insider account said that MC is working with Skillrex and Solange Knowles. I always thought The Distance was MC's favorite song and Skillrex was her favorite producer on Caution. Solange Knowles could give MC that Alternative R&B sound that I have been wanting her to do for a long time. Solange's Crane's In the Sky won her a Grammy in 2017. She also wrote Beyonce's Get Me Bodied. Check out her solo stuff and R&B song credits and see if her sound is a perfect fresh sound for MC. (Tuesday 21 May 2024; 02:46)

History is about to be made (106,447) by Shezz from Pk Excited to hear the remix though I am not expecting it to do much on the charts. It will boost the original's chart position and the remix will not be credited as has happened before. Of course I would love to be proven wrong but I don't think this is MC's return to Billboard just yet. Also, the fact that MC hasn't posted anything about it herself yet, I think shows that she is not expecting much and is doing this as a favour to support Muni Long and for JD. MC is busy putting the final touches on MC16. Robert Anthony you better believe it. She apparently got JD recently onboard to help her finish the album (Insider). I hope she has a proper plan and delays her Christmas crossover to December this year or releases it right after the holiday season and uses that momentum.
