I have been a Lamb since 1990. I know Mariah. I love her music. I breathe her music.
Lambs request (102,346) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Monday 13 March 2023; 17:50)
I am just wondering what is this album MC talked about last year that Lambs have been asking her to release. Could it be a jazz or gospel album? Maybe a dance album? Billboard just announced that Warner Bros is launching a dance label. This is a genre that MC has had a successful track record for 30 years. It would probably sell better than a jazz or gospel.

I Still Believe (102,339) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Saturday 11 March 2023; 14:23)
There is something special about MC's cover of I Still Believe. Listening to my ISB 12 inch brought me to post today.

1. It has to be MC's most real, carefree, and casual vocal ever. She sings with such ease without over using her higher register.
2. It was the combination of R&B and Pop that was highlight of MC's delivery.
3. If you have the CD maxi single or 12 inch versions, then you have something rare in your hands. In fact, there were five completely distinct versions released. The ISB remixes are by far one of MC's best remixes.
4. MC's cover of ISB was her way of paying tribute to her mentor and former boss, Brenda K. Starr.
5. Lastly, MC's use of the Pure Imagination interpolation was a brilliant and genius choice for the remix melody.

Remixes (102,334) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Saturday 11 March 2023; 03:40)
Stacey, your post got me thinking again. Why didn't MC release more remix albums during her height of her career? They would have done extremely well. We have only gotten one official remix album - The Remixes.

Great post. Maybe this could be a new TikTok video for wedding rehearsals that could garner support for Jive/RCA to allow MC and IDJ to release the remix/duet this summer.

Remixes (102,321) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Thursday 9 March 2023; 12:14)
I just found today my Fye Mix and Burn copy of #Beautiful remix with A$AP Rocky and Miguel. I like that remix better than the Jessy remix. One thing that we can say about MC and her remixes is that she started the multiple remix genre featuring other artists and rappers on a different version of a song. DFAU is another one that fits into that genre. MC doesn't get enough credit for starting certain aspects of remixes and vocal stacking.

The real reason for no respect (102,310) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Wednesday 8 March 2023; 01:59)
Why did it take some distasteful jabs at MC by Chaka to bring out some of the best topics on the board in 3 months? I have enjoyed reading everybody's comments this week. Deep down inside I truly believe MC has one more great album and tour left in her.

The real reason for no respect (102,299) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Monday 6 March 2023; 22:32)
Just my opinion in what I am about to say. MC is probably headed for retirement within the next 2 years. Vocally, she can't support her career without a major tour and we know her voice is not there anymore. Mentally, I feel she has had enough of record label politics and the music industry in general. What I would say to MC today is announce your farewell album and one more time 16-show U.S. tour and an 8-show European and Asia tour for 2024. By the way, aren't artists obligated to release a certain number of albums during their contract period? MC must have fulfilled her obligations to Epic with Caution because she should have released a new album in 2022 if she signed a new contract. Seems to me that MC is without a major label first time in her career.

Music this year (102,287) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Saturday 4 March 2023; 18:39)
Music has been very boring and no excitement on the pop radio this year. I really feel this is the trend that is here to stay for a very long time. I do like the new Kali Uchis album Red Moon On Venus. It is a moody dreamy album about heartbreak.

Chaka Khan (102,282) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Friday 3 March 2023; 23:54)
Why do you think that MC is disliked by so many female artists? Could it be the Tommy Motolla effect? How many other female artists have had so enormous push and financial investment from their label like MC had? None that I can think of. From 1990-1999, there were no other female artists bigger than MC and other female singers disliked MC during that time for it. Once the Tommy Mottolla effect wavered, MC's popularity decreased and the haters started speaking. To be honest, Tommy, MC and Sony did make a mighty team during her popularity and chart reign. Taylor Swift would have never had the same chart success like MC did in 90s. And Chaka is just mad because of what she could never achieve as a solo artist like MC did.

Have y'all heard Chaka sing live lately? Her voice is not there anymore. She is mad because she has really never been seen as a great singer, but just a great performer with Rufus in the 70's.

Hype for new album (102,268) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Monday 27 February 2023; 03:49)
It seems to me MC no longer posts videos of her in the studio to hype up the anticipation of a new album. If she is going to release anything new, whether new album or [compilation] again, the chances that it ever will sell anywhere near Memoirs is unlikely. I am feeling MC is apprehensive about any new release because of public scrutiny that is will not be a huge hit.

W Magazine (102,266) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Sunday 26 February 2023; 00:07)
Somehow I managed to picked up a copy of MC on the cover of W Magazine at Barnes and Nobles with an extensive interview and gorgeous photos including a 2 pages of a magazine photo shoot prep pictures with Roc and Roe. The title on the cover is "All We Want for the Holidays Is Mariah Carey." Did we talk about this W Magazine feature last November/December? There are plenty on Ebay.

Nick Cannon "co-writter/producer" (102,259) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Friday 24 February 2023; 00:43)
Laughable. We all know that MC solely wrote the lyrics to the Barry White sample. You have to give it to Nick though. He is a comedian who likes to make people laugh and say "He said what." "Child, please." I just want him to release his new album to add to my collection. Lol.

"It's a Wrap" on the Hot 100 (102,256) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Thursday 23 February 2023; 17:24)
Okay. I just keep up with the Mediabase charts and I kind of judge a song's chance on the Hot 100 or Urban AC chart that way.

"It's a Wrap" on the Hot 100 (102,252) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Thursday 23 February 2023; 10:10)
It is because of the lack of label support from IDJ records to send it to major radio stations across various formats.

Mariah is looking really slimmed down in her new It's A Wrap video with Kim Kardashian. It's funny that Nick's two exes make a video together with song about a man's last chance with his woman.

P!nk's Trustfall (102,243) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Monday 20 February 2023; 00:57)
This new P!nk album is so good. It is a brilliant piece of work that takes you on a ride through multiple genres. I have just as much P!nk music items as I have of MC. I just hope MC has a new album coming like Trustfall. She needs critics and the pop world to take notice again.

Pick 5 favorites re-imagined by the same producer (102,237) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Saturday 18 February 2023; 14:08)
I was thinking this morning how MC's You're Mine (Eternal) and Keyshia Cole's Stubborn definitely have that Rodney Jerkins signature sound. Then I thought about wouldn't it be cool if MC released an album of her favorite album tracks re-imagined by the same producer. Here are my five favorites that I would like re-imagined:
1. You're Mine (Eternal) - Rodney Jerkins
2. Ribbon - Christopher Stewart/The-Dream
3. Giving Me Life - Blood Orange
4. Meteorite - Q-Tip
5. Shake It Off - JD/BMC/JA
You know I had to have a JD track. Lol.

Super Bowl (102,235) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Saturday 18 February 2023; 04:20)
I am pretty sure some type of compliation is going to be available in MC's store this fall. That seems to be the pattern she has been doing since the MC 30 vinyls. Hopefully, it will be a Rarities 2 compliation and a new album.

Rarities (102,226) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Thursday 16 February 2023; 06:18)
This year would be the perfect time for The Rarities part 2. MC should include only rare tracks from TEOM to Caution. I feel MC probably has at least 20 good left over tracks from those 5 albums.

(Tuesday 14 February 2023; 02:42)
I just found my CD copy of MC's September 11, 2009 concert at Pearl in Las Vegas. I recorded it from a download link on the old Mariah Daily website. Her vocals are phenomenal. Does anyone else have it on Mp3 or CD? 18 songs were sung on the first night out of 4 nights for the residency.

MC could have definitely done a better job than what RiRi did. All of that hype for bad lip syncing and a pregnancy reveal. Wow. Who is managing RiRi now - Flavor Flav. Lol. I guess we can forget about R9 until 2026 now.
