About Hana from UK:

Re: Mariah has lost it (63,842) (63,870) by Hana from UK
She's not even a hot mess. She is a complete and utter mess. I remember at one point her team were worried about her not dressing her age and they corrected that shortcoming. Mariah work on your voice. You do not need to dress like a hooker to get people to notice you. I really miss the smart casual Mariah of the 90's. Nobody is saying she can't show any flesh but c'mon, have some class.

FAO UK fans (53,548) by Hana from UK
The new promo advert on TV for Mariah is proving effective so now would be the right time to go and purchase the new album as she is number 9 on the UK iTunes album chart. Let's maintain her presence in the top ten. Stream Infinity on YouTube (won't cost you much) and Spotify (for those for you that have premium) and for the old skool heads, pop to your local HMV and buy a copy. Don't forget to request on radio as well.

LA (53,534) by Hana from UK
It's wise for LA to not over promise or make bold claims that Mariah has got new hit singles/no. 1's in the pipe line. If her promo team started going around claiming "Infinity" is No. 1 material it could harm her image and career further if the general public didn't care for it. The media loves a car crash. I believe he's playing it cool and hoping for the best. If she gets another number one then that would be amazing. If she flies off the radar on the music charts, then it wouldn't be so embarassing and people would sweep this attempt to "comeback" under the rug until the next album.

2002 Through the rain (53,531) by Hana from UK
Watching this old performance of Mariah makes me real sad. She used to be able to command the stage. Mariah is so talented that she could make it in any era if she only had the confidence. And contrary to popular belief, the girl does have rhythm and can move. She's no Ciara or Janet Jackson but it would help her image a little if she did more than stand stiff on stage. I wish her well.

JLo vs Mariah feud (44,968) by Hana from UK
Oh come off it lambies. There was never a feud between JLo and MC. In an ancient video where the interviewer asked Mariah what her thoughts on Jennifer Lopez were she said: "I don't know her." Why are people trying to spin that into a negative by suggesting she "shaded" JLo is beyond me. She said nice things about Beyonce because they personally knew each other. Mariah was only telling the truth, the media wanted to sell papers and the lambs and JLo fans jumped on the bandwagon. In fact Mariah gave JLo a standing ovation on American Idol after her live performance. There is no beef. Maybe there was that whole issue with the sampling, but JLo isn't directly at fault, there are many other key players in the industry holding the strings.

Mariah (44,417) by Hana from UK

How I miss that girl. I'm not here for the diva sitting on the piano, or the diva standing stiff without breaking out a sweat lip-syncing. "Who is she?"

The majority of the songs are a bore and most sound the same. Filler album stuff. YDKWTD is alright, it's channeling that retro feel that's a cool sound of late, but it still sounds dated, and not in a good way. I can imagine grannies clapping along to it. Not good. Beautiful is the best song off the album, it has mass appeal but I believe that was mostly down to Miguel's faultless vocals. Do you lambs honestly think these songs will appeal to a mass audience? She just needs to strike the right balance. She needs to take a leaf out of Amy Winehouse, Adele and Lana Del Rey's book. They make great ballads, and they don't have to screech or shout the hell out of a song to convey emotion. Mariah used to be so gifted when it came to pouring emotion out onto melody, she could sound playful, sexy, poignant and full of energy so effortlessly. This era's effort's don't feel that way. I wish she had more upbeat songs that she didn't have to ruin with rappers talking all over the place, or overly produced hip hop with unnecessary whispering and left and center.

New album (43,853) by Hana from UK
Will probably get slated for this but I am not feeling the new album. The production over powers her, and I agree with someone that said she gets lost in it. Her vocals are strained, and I sometimes can't really tell what she is saying. This era's lyrics are the worst, has me thinking did she ever have much input in her earlier songwriting work? She didn't really say much in TAOLG and the same goes for the rest of these songs. Most of the songs sound the same.

Mariah's fashion sense (43,761) by Hana from UK
She is really taking the diva thing too seriously isn't she? Enough of the gowns, wish she'd dress casual but chic and trendy jeans and t-shirt for once and not just in boring black. Visual presentation is also everything, especially when she has to make up for the lack of vocal strength she now has and also the lack of stage presence. Somebody should sit her down and tell her to watch a Beyonce performance to show her how it's done.

Mariah Today ABMB (43,757) by Hana from UK
Off key galore. Truly terrible. I did like "You don't know what to do" though, and TMB wasn't so bad.

Nina / new album title (43,291) by Hana from UK
I agree, Mariah needs to speak less and sing more. This era's interviews have been a hot mess. Especially when they've been influenced by a little "splash". "Me. I am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse", how they let her get away with calling her album that I don't know. [censored]

In my copy of the Observer it says, "Art of Letting Go" out late May. Eh? Eh? Did they decide on that title then?

Video boring (Will) (41,547) by Hana from UK
Videos have evolved over time. A lot of videos were pretty simple in the 80/90's. It's an era of creativity right about now. Mariah has to come with something innovative and more experimental or her videos will just fade into the background. "Video killed the radio star."

Poor sales (41,378) by Hana from UK
No surprise as to why it isn't charting well. It's lyrically cliched, the structure is dated, imo it belongs in a 2005 slow jam collection. Sorry, not sorry.

Videos (41,243) by Hana from UK
Ri Ri, Beyonce and Shakira may have videos with little concept but their dancing draws people in, it makes things more interesting. And they make catchy music, music you can dance to but also feel. Mariah's stuff is predictable right now, you'd think she'd take it into a different direction. It feels like not much thought has really gone into the musical process.

FAO Mariah's camp (41,233) by Hana from UK
Mariah isn't doing herself any favours at the moment in terms of maximizing her fanbase or resonating with some of her old lost audience numbers if that makes sense. This is a woman who once sold millions and millions of records. The reason why she isn't popular has nothing to do with her career being way past its sell by date. You have songwriters like Morrissey who can pack out an arena because of the quality of music they put out (he's over 50 and still continues to appeal to younger generations). Mariah prides herself in letting everybody know she is a songwriter and producer but continues to put out dross like "You're Mine", like somebody said on here it sounds like a reject from Memoirs. The lyrics are lazy, and sounds like it was written in 5 minutes. The vocals are okay, but something is missing, it lacks the heart and soul WBT had. That's why it will never be another WBT. I know some people might say "hey stop acting like we are trying to break a new artist", but we're in denial here, we do care about her career and status. Heck she obviously cares or she wouldn't be doing non stop promo in one day. We are the ones spreading links on twitter, refreshing her videos on YouTube every minute, some of us buying 100 copies alone just to see her chart higher. Major, major changes need to be implemented. What's going on, Mariah?

Also dear Cluey (40,362) by Hana from UK
I have read your previous post where you claim Mariah is under MK Ultra/monarch programming and suggest that people who questions her mental health needs fixing up within themselves. Sense of irony in that. Even if she broke away from her "programming" does not mean she has a clean bill of mental health. Even more reason a fan would worry, you don't have to know somebody or deal with them directly to have a soft spot or genuine concern about their life if they have had an a major impact or added some aspect of meaning into your very own life.

Cluey get a clue (40,361) by Hana from UK
Mariah is a human being before an artist. And from one human being to another some of us aren't content with just being awe struck with her, or praise every little single execution she makes. My posts are a hopeful attempt to draw attention to her well being to the people who supposedly should be looking after her e.g. her handlers/Nick whoever and to get them to look after her before it's too late, there is only one Mariah Carey. Why is that so bad? So what if it's speculation? It comes from good intentions. Happy New Year!

Lambchops (40,360) by Hana from UK
Rambling may be one of the major tell tale signs that a person might be suffering from mental illness, stress or depression, so don't underestimate the theory. It's no secret that Mariah is a heavy drinker, this has not only affected her vocals but I believe also her ability to process information. She jumps from one topic to another, and heavy drinking can cause severe mental/cognitive impairment in a person if they are not careful. I work in mental health and I have to help so many people who come across like Mariah who can't socialise or present themselves to the world without alcohol. This may not necessarily mean one has a drinking problem. However in many cases the person suffers from a condition like anxiety and depression and simply cannot cope without alcohol. And when they are off their medication/booze they appear troubled and exhibit many of those tell tale symptoms I highlighted. At the end of the day alcohol isn't good for her voice, and it most definitely impacts on her behavior in a negative light. Again this is my opinion, you are entitled to believe i n what you want, ponder over what you want and comment on what you care most about.

*sigh* (40,354) by Hana from UK
The Andy Cohen interview was terrible, she was talking a mile a minute and not answering the questions properly. Truly reminiscent of her American Idol stint. Some "lambs" are truly hyper sensitive. Just because we express a concern for her well being, or try to ascertain what exactly is going on behind the scenes, doesn't make us any less of a fan, what's with the I am holier than thou attitude? We are saying or speculating about such things only because we are worried about the way she is coming across in the media. Here you are generalising and suggesting that people who are mentally ill would need to shave their heads bald, or start shoving umbrellas in your face for you to accept they have a disorder. I used Mariah's Art Of Letting Go lyrics to make a point of something because some of the words in that song sound as if she is merely saying words for the sake of it, they are vague, long winded and lack substance and passion, this is synonymously felt through her interviews. She seemingly looks and sounds troubled. She said it herself she's "insecure". Mental illness doesn't have to mean you are crazy. Educate yourself.

Mariah is unwell (40,346) by Hana from UK
Mimi definitely needs help. Poor thing, I believe this could be a case of her suffering from the debilitating symptoms of anxiety, alcohol withdrawal and potentially the damaging side effects of prescription medication i.e. anti depressants. She's not the only celebrity to come across in a bad way in interviews. Eminem and Britney Spears have all come across like somebody's taken their brains out, messed with some brain cells and put the mess back in them. They are all coming across as detached from the planet they're on, and lacking a whole lot of substance. Much like Mimi's The Art of Letting go lyrics - ouch sorry lambs! Absolutely nothing to do with Mimi being playful and carefree. She's a hot mess. They need to get her of the booze, if she is mentally ill the alcohol will only make things worse.

TAOLG (39,770) by Hana from UK
Lyrics 1/10
Vocal 7/10
Song 4/10
She's not really saying much, is she? The song is all over the place and lacks direction. It's uncomfortable and almost laughable to listen to from the very first line: "I'm making a statement of my own opinion." Redundant. And there's the part of "it's exceedingly hurtful", I can't believe she couldn't find another way of expressing how painful it is to let go of somebody you love/once knew. Heck she tried to with the line, "Cause somebody you used to know", but had to ruin the potential for a great story by saying "is flinging your world around". What does that even mean? Is she really lost for ideas?
