New ways to improve her tour (47,372) by Haiji Toro from USA In my opinion, here are my top 3 picks to improve her tour (I guess for the future concerts): 1. I understand the voice situation, but ok with lipping as long as I'm hearing a different version of the song. I don't expect her to be on point everyday. She was on point every day for more than a decade. Either way, I know it's her voice live or recorded. So, what I'm saying is that either she sings it live or lipping, it should always sound great. 2. Dancers and choreography. Either get newer and better routines that are more current and different or at least have her do a few dance steps with the dancers (ala Honey remix live). Also, because she's not really a dancer, a great approach would be a lot of stage props (ala Janet and Pink tours, no comparison to the artists, just talking about the stage and entertainment aspect). 3. And finally, the set list. Always the hits but make them minimal because us real fans know her whole albums. Let's hear "Prisoner", "And You Don't Remember", "Never Forget You", "Long Ago", "Outside", "Sweetheart", "After Tonight", "Lead The Way", "Subtle Invitation", "Circles", "For The Record", "Betch Gon' Know", "Right To Dream". Fav albums / songs / videos and opinions / ideas / overall (45,761) by Haiji Toro from USA So I've been a fan of this site since the beginning and a Mariah listener since VOL and I will continue listening no matter what. Her talents are far from comparable or gone unnoticed. I will always support my girl Mariah. Top 5 videos: Anytime You Need A Friend (Remix) O Holy Night All I Want For Christmas (60's version) The Roof My All/Stay Awhile Opinions: I feel Mariah is at a different stage in her life and career so she cannot still be the same person she used to be. She might have issues with the company or her husband but that's something she's dealing with at this point, which could be reasons for how this last album turned out. It's definitely one of her best. An underrated album I think, Glitter. I love her live versions of songs, she always brings something different to the songs. I don't care if she does lip all or parts, it's still her singing. Sometimes we have days when we can't produce a certain amount of vocal ability. I love the fact that she uses big words in her lyrics, it's always helped me learn a new word and extended my vocabulary lol as silly as it sounds, it's true. I started writing poetry and then songs at 17 imagining I was writing for her. I also used big words lol. I can't remember ever answering questions about my childhood or past without having to think of what Mariah album was out that year lol she has been in my life since I was 10 and with every album she has helped me cope with what I've been through. Even at such a young age dealing with some sort of pain but somehow a Mariah song comforted the soul. Even now at 32, Faded and Heavenly seem to still hit the spot. She's a true inspiration to me. I hope she continues to release music for our "eardrums". Ideas: Rerelease MIAMTEC with new songs and videos. Release a rare and unreleased album. An unplugged or acoustic video album, the long awaited Christmas movie, a children's album. Write, produce, direct and act in a children's movie. A covers album, a triple deluxe 3 disc album with different themes (Hip Hop / Dance / Adult Contemporary). Commercials for her products playing her music, a new and different concept and set list for her concert. Touching all topics (38,829) by Haiji Toro from USA Well, in my opinion, to get the whole Ariana Grande thing out the way, yes she has similar sounding vocals to Mariah, but to compare is ridiculous to me. Can't people understand the magnitude of talent this woman possesses? The lip singing is so understanding due to the fact that she is no longer pressured to go through extensive work to maintain her vocals. She's a mother and wife now, so people have to understand. I love that she's releasing all these remixes, she doesn't have to but it's good until her album drops. It would be nice to hear #Beautiful (Reprise) on her album. I love that only one song has been released. It takes me back to how music was released back in the days. I would love for her to remake Anniversary by Toni Tony Toné. It would fit her perfectly. Daydream was definitely a classic and Butterfly is my all time favourite. I think she's taking her time now with the album so she can rest and heal so she can be able to tour and promote her album. Recap (38,085) by Haiji Toro from USA Ok, well I have to say I'm in love with #Beautiful whether it's long or short. Genius. I don't care if she only sings half the song, as long as I can get a verse out of her, yea it would be great to hear a whole song with just her, but it would be pointless. The song is made for two artists and both men and women can relate. If you remember, Endless Love and One Sweet Day both started with the male singer(s) singing the first verse. I also don't really care if she was lip singing her latest performances. She's Mariah Carey, she can do whatever she wants with her performances. She has nothing to prove to anyone. You can't really expect someone who has been singing live for nearly 25 years to have the same voice, but she still can hit those notes that we love. Give her a damn break. I think the only reason #Beautiful isn't getting a lot of promotion, is because it's one of those singles that might or might not be considered a buzz single until sales show for it, which is doing great so far. And one last thing. How perfect would it be if she covered "Anniversary" by Toni Tony Toné. Have you heard the vocals in that song? She would slay that. (Thursday 30 May 2013; 6:00)
