About Ali from USA:

#Beautiful, video general thoughts (37,794) by Ali from USA
Well I have to say that #Beautiful is one of my favorite MC songs of all time. I have been playing it repeatedly. The video was a bit of a let down. I was hoping for something in the vein of "Always Be My Baby" or Paula Abdul's "Rush RUsh". It's just nothing new. It's "HATEU" in a barn. "Loverboy" on a motorcycle. No wonder she hasn't won a VMA. With that said, I like the yellow dress, and the start with her and Miguel on the bicycle. I just feel it's a tad bit too overdone with the sexiness, and that will affect when it airs, who watches it, etc. Something like "We Belong Together" would have been spectacular. Her body looks great, I love the song and still super excited about this era. And yes I know MC, and this is her style, but I look forward to more thought out videos.

I love this so much. I am a huge Miguel fan and this was just amazing. I am really excited for this era.

MC and Miguel (37,625) by Ali from USA
I just got my life with the teaser and news. I love Miguel's album, and I tweeted her asking for her to work with him. I hope he helped produce the record and co-wrote. I doubt it's a duet, but more of a feature. She needs to get on Jimmy Fallon pronto, and actually do some skits and stuff on SNL in addition to performing. With the right promotion this era has a lot of potential. I'm so excited.

One Sweet Day (36,555) by Ali from USA
I have been listening to the a capella verison of One Sweet Day all day. Wow, what a masterpiece. I know there are two versions, I am listening to the one where they change up the beginning. Not thrilled about The Dream, but will have faith in Mariah. If you love R&B, pick up Brandy's Two Eleven.

Fanny and Karen SLAYED their tributes to MC. Wow amazing and loved seeing that embrace between Tasia and Mariah. Phenomenal!

Clive/Tommy Mariah (36,298) by Ali from USA
Clive Davis a reason to blame for Whitney's demise? I think not. Whitney had a bunch of moochers around her, mainly her family, and that freak personal assistant Van Exel or whatever that got rid of the drugs in her hotel room. Only Whitney could get Whitney off of drugs with the proper support and I believe Cissy and Clive were some of that support. Clive I believe was one of the few that never gave up on her, and if it was up to him I am sure he would rather have her alive and healthy with and not able to sing, then gone and dead. Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson, Monica, Fantasia all have nothing but praise for him (Kelly Clarkson isn't a fan obviously). I have a lot of respect and admiration for Clive Davis and would love to chop it up with him for a good hour or so about music and the legends he discovered/signed and worked with. I would love if Mariah reached out to him or he to her just to see what he envisions for this stage in her career.
I agree, I don't think Tommy is the fix for MC. Because of their personal history working together would be a disaster. He hasn't done anything extraordinary aside from MC, but he did sign Celine Dion, one of the world's most respected and gifted vocalist. (Not a fan of her music, but she is talented. If she got back with Walter that would be fantastic too.)

Throwback album (36,291) by Ali from USA
I hope to wake up and come to find out that "Triumphant" was just a bad dream. Lol. I still have faith in this album. I've been tweeting her names of producers I'd love her to work with, but she probably thinks that I am crazy. Would totally be down for a retro-throwback album like Amy Winehouse, which is why I am insistent that she works with Mark Ronson. I loved "It's A Wrap".

Daydream (36,230) by Ali from USA
Daydream. Oh I love that album so much. I'm not sure what it is, but Mariah has an ability to make her songs really timeless, which a gift very few artists have. "Always Be My Baby" I believe is one of the greatest pop/R&B songs of all time. It wasn't her biggest hit, but there is just something magical about that song from the production to the lyrics and her vocals. I watched a YouTube clip of Kelly Clarkson singing it in concert (she loves MC), and I was just like wow, nobody can do this like MC, and I love Kelly. Many people think that ABMB is a cover, and they thought the same thing about All I Want For Christmas Is You, Forever, and Melt Away. Throw on "Long Ago" and "Underneath the Stars." Wow what a stellar album. I also love Tamia, favorite song is "Officially Missing You" and "Stranger in My House", but I love Q's jook joint.

Angels Cry (36,167) by Ali from USA
I loved "Angels Cry", it was my favorite song off of "Memoirs" aside from "It's a Wrap". The song had a lot of conviction and I love the lyrics.. Favorite album is Daydream or Emancipation (I can't choose) and shoulda been a singe "Migrate" or officially "Underneath the Stars" (my favorite MC song). Stacey and Special K, I appreciate both of your contributions to this boar. Also, Aaliyah fans, her 11 year anniversary just passed. She was my favorite before MC, but it made me happy to know that MC was a fan. She choose Aaliyah's "At your best" on her iTunes playlist and stated what a talent Aaliyah was and what a beautiful voice she had. Pleasant day lambs.

oh triumphant (36,074) by Ali from USA
I can't, I just can't with this song or the video. Lol. I love you Mimi, but let us go back to the drawing board. Let's change the promo pics for the album, the sound and get in the lab with some different peeps, though I do love your JD collabs. Also, I love Mariah in all her divadom. I usually find it cute and funny, but some of the shots in this video looked awkward.

Album in March (36,042) by Ali from USA
I think it's great that MC is holding off on the album. When she has a Spring release (E=MC2 and Emancipation) she seems to do better. Plus the single is not strong and also there are a lot of females dropping albums in the next Fall - P!nk, Leona Lewis, Brandy (yay), Christina Aguilera, etc. In any event, I still can't wait for the Triumphant video premiere. This album also needs a stellar campaign. I know we've all talked about how great the "Return of the Voice" approach was, but honestly with Whitney gone, and Adele having blown up, I think people are longing for great songs with great vocals. Randy doesn't get it. The way you move units like you did in the 90's is you get an across the board smash. Always Be My Baby was played on pop, adult contemporary, and urban radios. Adele's songs hit all formats which is why she saw album sales that reflected that. You don't centralizes singles. A hit song is a hit song. Stations will pick it up.
