TAOLG (39,744) by Paul from USA I'm in the middle. I really enjoyed the song immensely, but I don't think it's good enough as a single track, but it's great as an album track. I saw some posts comparing it to "Vision of Love" to which I strongly disagree. Anyways, while I didn't think the song is perfect, I'm happy to listen to anything new by her. I'll take this over an "Obsessed" or a "Touch My Body", any day. I can't wait to listen to the whole album! After reading of the comments here, some of you guys/gals have to chill. Jeez. It's alright not to like every Mimi song. I see more comments deriding the supposed "negativity" than actual negativity. (Tuesday 12 November 2013; 11:48)

Emotions / new single (39,520) by Paul from USA Amen! Emotions, without a doubt, is her most underrated and most timeless album. Overshadowed by her debut album and the best-selling Music Box. I just don't get the lackluster reviews for it. They need to get their ears cleaned. The singles were great and the non-singles, too (especially "If It's Over"). She was at her peak vocally. I can't wait for her new single, now. Hopefully, she isn't just overhyping it. I hope it's something her older fans have been waiting a very long time for. "Beautiful" was good and all, but too much Miguel and the very tacky music video tainted it for me. (Saturday 19 October 2013; 13:45)

On the criticism - Carla (39,345) by Paul from USA Just because people are criticizing her musical direction, doesn't mean they are "bashing" her. There are more ignorant people out there who are just outright mean to her and want to see her fail. Everyone who frequents this site to state their opinions are all fans who adore her. Whether they prefer her R&B stuff, Hip-hop stuff, Pop stuff, Adult Contemporary stuff, and so on. Mariah has a variety of music, catered to different audiences. It's okay not to like all her music. Fav albums (39,053) by Paul from USA 90s: 1. Daydream (duh) 2. Emotions 3. Butterfly 4. Music Box 5. Mariah Carey 2000s: 1. TEOM 2. MOAIA 3. E=MC2 Rainbow, Charmbracelet, and Glitter are all my least favorite. I'm not a huge fan of 2000s Mariah to say the least. Lots of ups and downs. Hopefully this will be a better decade. I'm a noob here (38,909) by Paul from USA Huge Mariah fan since the 90's. I stuck by her, even though she disappointed me for most of the 2000's. Great site. Re: Glitter / Joachim: Yeah, I noticed that, too. Maybe it has something to do with the record label not wanting it on Spotify. Also it's the soundtrack of a film that even the most fanatical Mariah fan hated. I just like to pretend and live life like it never happened. Glitter, what? Re: The Art of Letting Go / Will: I absolutely concur, Will. My expectations are low. I don't want to get my hopes up. I expect enjoying half the album (I'm being a bit generous) and not listening to the other half again, like all of her albums in the 2000's (yes, even the loved TEOM). If you're expecting a "Daydream", you're living in a fantasy, baby (no pun intended). That's her magnum opus. I don't think she top that amazing album. If the throwback "#Beautiful" (nevermind the tacky MV and name) is any indication on how the whole album will be like, plus the fact Walter A. is involved and TAOLG is apparently inspired by her "Emotions" album, I'm more hopeful than usual. Re: Collaborations / George Golden: Wow, great minds think alike. Stick to pop/r&b ballads and uptempos, Mariah. Her hip-hop experimentation in late 90's were alright ("The Roof" was a superb track). She should've stopped a long time ago, IMO. But if she wants to continue this hip-hop route, more power to her. (Monday 5 August 2013; 12:56)
