And now back to Mariah (36,793) by Anonymous from
I'm wondering if Mariah is going to record an "answer song" to Nicki Minaj's "Hell Yeah" which many in the industry are saying is aimed at Mariah (I did not hear Nicki say that herself, but it's pretty apparent IMO). One thing is for sure. If Mariah does record one, she'll be far more respectful, and in tune. Enjoy the day fellow lambs.

Mariah, the world of music needs you now (36,787) by Anonymous from
After watching the AMA's last night, all I can say is, in my opinion, music is just about dead. As far as I see it, only our "Imperfect Angel" - Mariah - can save it. And the lambs shall rejoice (I would imagine) upon the arrival of music's savior (which I believe she is). We'll just have to wait until sometime next spring (or in "Mariah time", whenever). In my observation, that was the worst show yet (and I've watched since it's inception in 1974). Everything sounded the same to me, souless. It looked to me like the same flashing lazer lights, shooting flames, and 20 dancers in every single act (except for Pink, who always turns in a great performance IMO). Then they pay tribute to [...] Whitney Houston, yet mention nothing about others who passed away over the past year [...] (Donna Summer, Gary Moore, Natina Reed to name a few). The only reason they said anything about Dick Clark was because he did establish the awards and Ryan Seacrest was a good friend of his. Suffice to say I will not be watching next year's telecast, unless Mariah is on it of course. P.S. Memo to the "Mail.online" staff: Nick and Mariah were married in 2008, not 2007.

Neri, this is a messageboard dedicated to Mariah. It's where fans and lambs can come to share their thoughts, comments, ideas, and the like. I respect this board and this website. I also respect the MCA family. They do not need to be subjected to your attacks on my intelligence and education, and neither do I. If you feel you need to continue this, please e-mail me at mariah4ever.lamb4life@gmx.com. If not, then let's get back to Mariah. Thank you. Enjoy the day fellow lambs.

Crazy lamb attacked (yawn) (36,755) by Anonymous from
Neri, It sounds like you didn't like my opinions (which were based upon my personal observance of the news and events of the Tommy era in Mariah's life, mixed with my own life experiences). I'm sorry about that. And did I read this correctly? You want me to follow your rules of how I write my posts ("don't make it seem as though...")? Ok, I'll try and clear everything with you before I shoot it over to Eric. I also had to chuckle after reading the part "we don't know a thing about what goes on behind anyone's door when it closes". True. So how could you tell me that I'm "out of line" for my opinions when you don't know what went on behind their door either? Truth is you can't because you don't know and neither do I - so lay off. Thank you. Will, you got me smiling too. Accused of a crime I didn't commit , saying I said Mariah used Tommy to climb the ladder. I said he held it while she climbed it. Big difference. Please re-read. I have a feeling most of you have no idea what my "Adios Johnny Bravo" comment meant because if you did, you'd know that was not an insinuation of Mariah using Tommy. It was the Emancipation of Mimi (just as it was for Greg Brady when he tore up the recording contract on "The Brady Bunch" all those years ago, Google it). Anyone have anything else for me? Good. I'm outta here. Enjoy the day fellow lambs.

Tommy, If I hear that name one more time... (36,743) by Anonymous from
Is it me or does it seem many fans and lambs are still hung up on talking about Tommy Mottola? Even Mariah still tends to either write or talk about her time with him and it's always negative (and for the most part meaningless). The '90's ended long ago and whatever went on back then has no bearing on 2012. So many people hate the guy and I could never understand why. He was "controlling". What? Most young people who marry older people say that. It's not controlling so much as it is maturity. Mariah was 23, and everytime Tommy said "no" to her, it was for a reason, yet in her young mind that was probably considered "controlling". I bet she looks back now and truly understands most of what he did and why. Whether fans or lambs like it or not, he was the one who held the ladder while Mariah climbed it. Once she got there, it was "Adios Johnny Bravo". Now I'm not saying the guy was a saint. No one's perfect. All I'm saying is he thought with his whatzit, not his brain. He married too young of a girl, that's all. So in conclusion, please relegate Tommy to Mariah's and our past, where he belongs. The guy's been married to Thalia for years and she never said he was controlling. That's because she was already older when they married and she understood what maturity was all about. So to does Mariah... now. Let's look forward to what Mariah has in store as there is no future in the past. Enjoy the day everyone.

CDC Re: "Butterfly" on Vinyl (36,714) by Anonymous from
Hi CDC. You may want to check with fellow MCA member and "The Lamb Directory" alumni Andy Tjondrodihardjo (Tjondro for short). I see him in the avatars. He has quite an extensive collection and I believe he still buys, sells, and trades, but don't quote me on that. Enjoy the day fellow lambs.

"Bring It On Home" yes, "Obama" no (36,700) by Anonymous from
As Mariah's only Tea Party Republican lamb, I can only hope that I will eventually be able to listen to this incredible song without associating it with Obama. "Bring It On Home" is an instant classic in my opinion and I am happy for Mariah that her friend and choice of candidate won. Enjoy the day everyone, including you Mr. President.

Carla and why "Glitter" has a special meaning for me (36,653) by Anonymous from
Wow Carla. I finally met another Lamb who actually feels like I do, that "Glitter" was one of Mariah's best. I think for me I feel that way not so much because of the musical content, but for the "historical signifigance" it had in the American lamb family and for me personally. It was released on September 11, 2001, the day of the terrorist attacks against America. I had planned on buying the new CD that day but I, like most Americans, was "glued" to the TV throughout the day. By the time WTC 5 collapsed in the late afternoon, I said "overload" and had to step away. It was then that I realized that I hadn't gone to the store yet to get "Glitter". I got in the car and went to the record store (remember those?). They were open but it was a ghost town. The guy had the TV on watching the coverage. I brought my purchase to the counter and he said "The US is under attack and your buying a stupid Mariah Carey CD?" I still remember that. I told him I needed some seminance of normalcy, and being a lamb I needed my "comfort" which was Mariah. On the darkest day in recent American history, Mariah got me through and that's partially why I love the album, and the movie too. Historical footnote, "Glitter" was the last movie ever filmed that had the Twin Towers in it.

Edward re: What I would tell Mariah (36,645) by Anonymous from
I'd go up to Mariah, look her straight in the eyes and say "Mariah, you do whatever you want to do." As a lamb from way back, I can assure you that I've never agreed with everything she did, but by the same token, I will never turn my back on her. As you all know, there is "unconditional love" for Mariah within her lamb community. Some of us a little bit crazy. Many of you know how rabid a lamb I am. I'd take a bullet for her ("Hey Nicki, whatcha got there under your coat?") but that doesn't mean I agree with everything (like the Obama nails, e gads) she sings, says, or does. That's why I will never say she should do this, or sing that way. It's her life and her decision and if she can look herself in the mirror each morning with no ill feelings about herself or her choices then that's good enough for this ol' lamb. Just my opinion. Not saying anyone else should feel this way. Enjoy the day everyone.

A lamb sacrifice - don't say I never did anything for you Desiree (36,531) by Anonymous from
Shoot, I just realized I left Rebecca Black off my favourite female singers list, darn it. Is it too late to boot Mariah Carey off the list so I can add Rebecca? (There you go Desiree. They'll be coming after me now.)

Tobby and Licia re: "Charmbracelet" (36,512) by Anonymous from
I agree with the both of you. To me, "Charmbracelet" is the lamb's album. This is the best album Mariah ever put out. Here's a brief description of her albums and why I feel the way I do: "Mariah Carey" - good album, but made to be commercially successful. "Emotions" - basically "MC part ll". "Musicbox" - showing signs of in depth writing, but not quite a "with feeling" album. "Daydream" - trying something a little different, but not heartfelt. "Butterfly" - her "I'm free from that jerk, now what?" album. "Rainbow" - Yawn, wake me when it's over. "Glitter" - shades of "CB" starting to shine through, because it was semi-autobiographical, but a lot of filler. "Charmbracelet" - Mariah's songwriting masterpiece. Her true feelings of that time in her life and what she learned while she was going through it. She shared her pain, healing, and inspiration with her lambs because she knew her lambs would get it, understand it, and benefit from it. Part of her healing was through us (just as we have used her to help us heal). The greatest gift an entertainer can give their fans is to believe in them. Mariah proved she believed in her lambs with "CB". To continue: "TEOM" - back to the commercialism, which I will admit was a good call. "E=MC2" - "TEOM" part ll". "Memoirs . . . " - about as close as she got to "CB" from a feelings standpoint, but the writing was less than spectacular ("Windex"?, come on). So there you go. My opinions. Enjoy the day everyone.

Desiree re: 36,461 (36,482) by Anonymous from
Mariah was writing music both on her own and with her brother Morgan in the mid 1980's. She was also learning tricks of the trade from Gavin Christopher at the time Whitney's debut came out. What does this mean? It means Mariah wasn't influenced by Whitney. Sure, I wouldn't doubt she may have picked up a thing or two listening to Whitney, but I wouldn't say she was influenced by her. In fact, if you want to be technical, Mariah's head was filled with music from the "get go" so she was influenced by everyone she's ever heard. From Sinatra, Aretha and Stevie Wonder to Elvis, The Beatles and Bo Donaldson and The Heywoods (who?), she's heard them all. Mariah was blessed to have been born in an era when many of the true greats of music were still around or still heard on the radio so she soaked up quite a bit. No, to say there would be no Mariah without Whitney is a falsehood. You want to be truly realistic, when you think about it, there'd be no female singers today if it weren't for a cavewomen serenading her caveman way way back in the day. Enjoy the day everyone.

Take it seriously (36,439) by Anonymous from
I still believe this "feud" is a publicity stunt, but in the off chance that it's not, it should be taken seriously. I know some people aren't thinking that way, but they should because you never know. Mariah has every reason to believe it's true and every right to do what she has to to protect herself and her family. No sane person goes around threatening to shoot someone. Personally, I'd rather see Mariah hire extra bodyguards and be cautious than for us Lambs to be holding a candlelight vigil in her memory.

Mariah and Minaj (36,411) by Anonymous from
I believe this whole sorted afffair is nothing more than a publicity stunt designed to stir interest in a show that's been waning in popularity and in the the ratings game for years. Mariah's a business woman and she knows how to garner publicity. Everyone else involved in the show's been around long enough to know how to get the public's attention. Showbiz people love to wind us up and squeal with delight when we all go crazy over them. Mariah's not immune to this behavior either, so don't get on me. I love her, always have, always will, but let's face it. She been playing games with us Lambs for years and obviously we love it or we wouldn't be Lambs. It's part of being a fan of hers. So I say instead of getting on the various players in this soap opera, sit back and enjoy the entertainment they are providing us. What the heck, it's free. Enjoy the day everyone.

Mariah's the last (36,365) by Anonymous from
With the passing of Andy Williams earlier today, Mariah has now become the last of the classic Christmas song singers. Bing Crosby, Nat "King" Cole and Perry Como all had incredibly successful careers in their time, just as Andy Williams had. Yet with all the millions of records they sold, they will forever be remembered for their Christmas classics. So to will Mariah. While other contemporary Christmas songs have come and gone over the past 20 years (right along with most of the people who sang them), Mariah's "AIWFCIY" (the one and only original) is the only one that has stood the test of time. A hundred years from now people will not know what "Honey", "We Belong Together" or any other MC song was, but they will still know Mariah because they will still be listening to "AIWFCIY", right along with Nat's "The Christmas Song", Bing's "White Christmas", Perry's "There's No Place Like Home For The Holidays", and Andy's "Most Wonderful Time Of The Year". Not bad company to be in, that's for sure. Enjoy the day fellow Lambs.

Very nice Eric (36,011) by Anonymous from
I'm staying out of the whole "Triumphant" topic as I think enough has been said by everyone else. I've learned that talking less is saying more. Looking forward to the new album this coming Spring (or Summer or Fall, lol). I've just registered with MCA and I have to say that you have really done some cool stuff with the site Eric. I think MCA is, and always will be, the best site for the fans and the Lambs to come together as one big Lambily. I know I've been a thorn in everyone's side at times, but I've always been one of MCA's biggest supporters. I look forward to many years ahead getting booed and hissed and praised and loved by my fellow fans and Lambs, and by you too Eric, lol. Enjoy the day everyone. P.S. Gotta make a smiley Lamb emoticon.
