About RJJ12 from USA: A fan since 1990. Favorite Mariah quotes, "It doesn't matter how I look, if I'm singin..." & "I can't even know what to say." I love R&B and Hip Hop, but I listen to any genre of music as long as the song is great. Love saaaanger/songwriters. I'm not a "yes" fan but I do give credit when its due.

It's Like That (41,802) by RJJ12 from USA
Mimi L, I love that song. It was a smart move for them to release that song first instead of the boring, yet extremely different, Say Something. Even though it was an uptempo, Mariah turned up the vocals during her ad libs like she was roaring back into radio demanding a hit. The beat was so sparse, that the backgrounds and ad libs really stood out. I love how she didn't let up on the vocal either and rocked out with fat man scoop at the tail end of the song. I also loved that it had a pre-chorus. There was another diva that had a club song out at the same time and I was almost sure people were going to gravitate to that song instead, but I believe that Mariah did a smart choice in releasing a harder edge club banger that matched the Lil Jon/Down South sound that was dominating the airwaves during that era. It was also a different sound for her as she had never released a club banger as a single previously and there was no other song on the radio with that type of vocal performance over a hip hop beat. Regardless of the direction she chooses this go round, whether it be Urban, R&B, Pop, Jazz, or little bit of all of those genres, one thing has to happen, she has to sang her face off. No one else has that voice and if she doesn't capitalize on that, her not so secret weapon, she will blend in with all the other songs on the radio.

You're Mine stats (41,801) by RJJ12 from USA
So it looks like the song re-entered the iTunes 1000 after yesterday's performance, even with all the bad press and twitter comments. All she needs to do is continue to line up performances at least once a week for the next 6-8 weeks. I tracked Beautiful's chart performance on iTunes like a hawk when it was released and each time she performed the song, regardless of how good or bad it was, it would shoot up the iTunes chart. The same can be done with this song. Not many people know of its existence yet. Common promo, it can still happen.

New songs? (41,800) by RJJ12 from USA
"I Don't Wanna Stop Loving You"
Songwriters: Mariah Carey, Usher Raymond, William Edmund Young
"I Got A Man"
Songwriters: Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, William Edmund Young
"Love Like This"
Songwriters: Mariah Carey, William Edmund Young
"Man Of The Hour"
Songwriters: Mariah Carey, MVP Sowestbred, William Edmund Young
"This Is For Real"
Songwriters: Mariah Carey, Tupac Shakur, William Edmund Young
So these songs were registered years ago when she started working on this project, I wonder if any of them will land on the new album or be released as extras or unreleased songs. I really like the titles like "Man Of The Hour" and "I Got A Man". It is interesting to see Usher and Mary J listed as songwriters. The Tupac song must sample one of his lyrics. What does everyone else think?

Bad press (41,758) by RJJ12 from USA
So the bad press is starting again regarding her lipping her BET performance. Ugh. Now I've given up on wanting her to sing live, but singing is supposed to be what she is known for. The casual or even non-fans are starting to get hip to what the lambs have known for years. I really liked the performance and I have no clue as to why she would fly all the way to PR when the video playing in the background of the performance was light years better. She needs to do videos where she is acting something out or using some props but never where she is just staring into the camera as she always looks like she is trying too hard. She needs to get to performing this song like, yesterday, and make sure the performances are good. I hope the learned from the messy Beautiful performances. I like the You're Mine and want it to do well.

Album title (41,465) by RJJ12 from USA
I wonder what she is going to call the album now? Does anyone have any suggestions? I read someone say The Dedication. Not bad. She keeps emphasizing the word “Journey” whenever she speaks about the album. Maybe she is contemplating Journey as a possible title or something like it. I was hoping she would release a double album and call one Songbird and the other Phoenix. Like the beginning and the end. What do you all think?

I don't even know what to say, but I will anyway. (41,464) by RJJ12 from USA
I’m so confused at all the comments on here stating, these are the reasons why MC’s song isn’t a hit. Did it not just get released to radio today? All the reasons everyone is posting are all reasons that were given before by the media. She’s a diva, she isn’t relatable, her music doesn’t match the current format, her voice isn’t the same, she’s too old, how she dresses, and the rest of the reasons you all gave. Once Glitter happened, this is what was said. Then she took a long time away, longer then any other time in between albums and TEOM was released. It also was pushed back. Mariah said Almost Home was a separate project from the album so that doesn’t count. Triumphant was the learning experience. She released a lazy, uninspired lead single and the results showed that people weren’t having it. So she backed up and re-worked it. When has she ever charted high on iTunes? Until Beautiful, I hadn’t seen her chart that well there, so why should we care now? She is working the radio circuit which is what she needs to do to gain radio support. She is humble enough to know that without radio support, the song goes nowhere. She is playing the game and creating a relationship with these stations by either calling in or showing up for an interview to promote her record and hopefully convince the station to play her song. You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours. Besides, Beautiful didn’t start moving on iTunes until she started performing the song anyway.

My own 2 cents (41,401) by RJJ12 from USA
People talking about Mariah just making music and not caring about the charts is off base. When you have a record contract, you have to care. Now I firmly believe that her last two albums weren’t a success because of two reasons: lack of promo and poor single choices. For the first time in her life, she chose her personal life over her career, and I’m ok with that. She has had enough time to enjoy her personal life with her marriage and birth of her twins and I believe she is finally ready to come back. She is coming back hard with the promo and a great song. I firmly believe that her career now has her full attention. Now, is she expecting everything to go number 1? No. However I also believe that she has an album full of great songs that have potential to go number 1. Obsessed didn’t do so well at first but it eventually went on to chart at number 7 with little promo and Beautiful charted at number 15 even with the discombobulated promo and so so performances. If you like the song, support and lets just wait to see what happens. Heck, if people have creative ideas, post them, you never know.

Too early to tell / give credit when due (41,399) by RJJ12 from USA
Are fans really calling You're Mine a flop already? She just released it and has been promoting non-stop since its release. I see people saying she needs to promote more. This woman has been everywhere, calling in radio stations, wedding ceremonies, video countdown shows, all except go around and kiss babies at this point. We have yet to see what else they have planned for the song. JD has been doing a great job getting her back out there and staying out of the way which is commendable. iTunes is not the end all be all. Have people forgotten that Vevo streams count towards chart positions? Both the original and remix audio were available the same day of release and both videos within a couple days of each other. All on Vevo. I assume they are getting streams first and then will proceed with strategically placed performances right before it officially goes out to radio. Why are people saying this song is boring? It is the best song out of the bunch so far, and you don’t release an uptempo in the middle of winter, you save those for the spring/summer. Can we also let the song to grow and the promotion to continue? Just because it doesn’t shoot to number 1 its first week doesn’t mean anything. This song is a hit song, mark my words. For those saying that she won’t reach the top like she did in the 90’s, did they forget the record breaking WBT and TEOM? She was bigger then than in the 90s.

This era (41,277) by RJJ12 from USA
I believe M is off to an awesome start with this new single. A promo video right before the release of the single and the BET performance. She dropped the single, its remix, and video all on the same day and went on a slew of interviews. Today she did more and tomorrow we get the dance remixes and the remix video. The timing couldn’t be more perfect for a ballad when it’s cold outside during Valentines. She seems to have fixed most of the mistakes made for the release of Beautiful. Clueey, she must have read your message about the Mabach and decided to do one better and light up the Empire State Building. She also finally dropped a great solo song that is classic, yet current, with a great vocal climax. The only somewhat gripe is the video, and her alcohol consumption during interviews, which may be causing her to lack the ability to have a conversation with the interviewer. She seems better in interviews during press day # 2. Since the board seems to be unanimous about this issue, I ask everyone to pray for her. You never know what someone might be going through, regardless of their success, money, and team of employees. The people around her in 2001 weren’t looking out for her best interest, so we can start by praying for her and wishing her good health, happiness, and success with the new record. I just want to thank her for the effort she has put forth this go round. We complained and for the most part, she has delivered.

You're Mine cover (41,205) by RJJ12 from USA

This song is really taking off. There is already a cover by a brilliant up and coming artist. Please listen to the following video. Durand puts his own spin on the song while including Mariah's legendary whistle register. He takes is to a sexy place. I hope Mariah hears it and re-does a version like this.

So what time exactly will the new single be ready for purchase?

You're Mine (41,061) by RJJ12 from USA
So I just heard the leaked version. This is what I have been waiting for. It’s a perfect merge of Mariah/Mimi. She needed to come hard with a ballad for Valentine’s and this song is Mariah at her best. The lyrics are brill, the melody is chill and catchy and the vocal performance at the end reminds you why she is Mariah Carey. For those who thought she couldn’t do it again, she is back. This song shows the perfect mix of a mature sound, artistic growth, while still creating a song that radio will eat up and become an instant hit. This will be a number 1 record, mark my words. The Art Of Letting Go was a throw away to hold us over, this is the real single and it delivers.

Mariah Daily Journal (41,059) by RJJ12 from USA
That's too bad that the site is shutting down. I liked how they had all of the magazine interviews housed in their database where I can go back and reminisce or learn something new or back up something I knew she said before. They used to have a comments section and I feel like I was partially to blame for the removal of it. There was several fans on that board who bashed anything urban she did and wondered why she was trying to be "so ghetto" and who also had some insulting things to say about Nick or blamed him for anything. I always defended him because, her personal life should be off limits and I believe that as her husband and father of her children, people should respect him. Especially because he seems too genuinely, love her. This "touchmybody" character who just waited for me to post only to attack me and provoke a response. Then there was this "Avila" character who loved to argue with me and would always respond to my post with some snide counter argument. When Oh Santa came out, I was attacked by both of them because I didn't like the song and they demanded that I love everything she releases. After that ordeal, the comments section was closed. So when I discovered this site, I was so happy that I could interact with other fans that I promised to avoid confrontation and just try to turn the other cheek if someone came at me, and start to curb what I say.

Enwar00 (41,012) by RJJ12 from USA
I don't know much of anything in the city. I just moved here not too long ago for a job and to escape the trappings of Boreville USA. Lol. I love Paperboy. I'm a 90's hip/hop and R&B head. If you went Sunday night, then yes, that was in fact Valentine's day. I went that same night. She was like super late, more than usual. She was in really good spirits when she was talking to the audience during the first half of the show. She left so abruptly, and my friend who got us the tickets is like, she will come back out to do an encore, she always does an encore. I'm like, she barely looked back, she is not coming back out. All of a sudden the stage lights went out and the audience was confused and didn't know that the show was over. Lol. I didn't get a chance to get a tour book, it looked better than The Adventures Of Mimi one, I went to that show too. I don't know too many people here so we should hang out, especially since the new MC project is coming. It would be cool to discuss. My email address is JoseJRodriguez1112@yahoo.com.

Promotion / album / Christopher (40,982) by RJJ12 from USA
Christopher, don't fret. News is starting to trickle in on Mariah's plans. She is supposed to be on the View next Wednesday to promote her new single Be Mine. I'm assuming they either changed the name or changed it slightly on the press release like they did Beautiful on Showbiz by calling it Gorgeous. I heard about this song way back in 2012 as the follow up to Triumphant called "You're Mine". That would be perfect for V-Day I know it isn't like her to stay quiet but I believe she really wants her album to be a surprise to the fans and release the plans right when she drops it. I was getting worried as well but just kept my trust that she is brewing something good and is just keeping the info under wraps to take advantage of the surprise factor. Clueey23, you just might get your Maybach moment. Lol.

Obsessed/Enwar00 (40,938) by RJJ12 from USA
I remember when I heard the song one of my friends was like, "She will never do it, but wouldn't it be cool if she did a Bianca/Mariah bit again, but this time, she would be dressed up as M&M instead of Bianca." Then the video came out. It seemed kind of rushed, like they didn't have much time to make it. I'm used to bigger productions from Brett. They could have had a funny fight scene. If there was any more Chicago fans on this board we could put one together. If you want to meet up we can start small. Lol. What clubs do you go to where they actually play Mariah? I have never heard Loverboy anywhere. The last time I heard Mariah at a club was like, two years ago, they played the Fantasy remix. I rushed to the dance floor. Did you go to her Valentine's Day concert when she came for her Angel's Advocate Tour? It was interesting to say the least.

Mimi L (40,937) by RJJ12 from USA
It is hilarious that you are getting a thumbs down, but most people don't like to live in peace and love to watch drama unfold. That's why reality shows are so popular these days. Yes the Madonna line was classic, and then when she changed her image and people starting ragging on her saying she went wild she responded with, there are people out there that are a little more extreme, especially some of these "singers". She always knew how to throw an underhanded jab. I guess that is why I love "Did I Do That?" It was probably her first diss record to a past relationship. For those that don't like that song, you have to get past the beat and listen/read the lyrics. I also really like "Clown", she should have released that as well as "You Know You Got Me". Charmbracelet would have blown up.

Obsessed (40,915) by RJJ12 from USA
I'm a guy and I love this song. When I heard it I thought, what! Mariah snapped! From the clever play on words (MC to MC, when you need an MC), to the slick talkin lyrics, and the super hard beat. I loved how they started mimicking a Dre production by playing the heavy keys at the 3:30 mark of the song. The icing of the cake was "you're all up in my George Foreman (grill)". For someone who most people brush off as pop fluff to pull off such a hot dis record, no other female in the game could have pulled off this song. Especially not someone who started off singing soul ballads. This song shows off her versatility as a singer/songwriter/artist. If anyone else would have attempted this, it would have come off cheesy.

Mimi L., Lamb_O_Chop, and B (40,914) by RJJ12 from USA
I think it is awesome that you all cleared up a misunderstanding while being very classy about it. There are times where there is a lot of bickering and jabs being thrown back and forth on this board by others and it is refreshing to see people work something out. More fans, including myself, need to follow your lead. Hats off to you three.

Leak (40,862) by RJJ12 from USA
I think it is unfortunate that someone would leak information about someone else’s hard work. One way to piss Mariah off is to beat her to the punch about releasing information about her own work. Especially since she has had her ideas stolen before and released before she could by powers that be who had access to her work. Loverboy anyone? Fans need to remember that. To have your idea stolen and watch it go number 1 has got to be one of the worst things to happen in her professional career. A lot of folk in the entertainment industry usually get advanced copies/information about upcoming projects but it is a rule among the industry to keep your mouth shut. I want to know as much as the next fan but it does Mariah no favors to press someone on social media about information they may be privy to. Fasten your seatbelts lamily, this era is going to be a bumpy ride.

Licia (40,861) by RJJ12 from USA
Licia, because I’m a genius, naw just kidding. The song popped into my head right before Triumphant came out when Mariah did that big conference call with a lot of radio people. My friend works in radio and was on the call and he told me that some people had asked her who she would like to work with. She replied that she had some ideas but didn’t want to reveal them since her ideas happen to get stolen a lot. Lol. I’ve always loved that song and is was like, a sleeper hit. Once I heard the disappointing Triumphant, I thought, why didn’t they just take an old hit and re-write it? It would be perfect for Mariah to re-write it and get a hot up and coming rapper on it. I never thought about Kendrick Lamar on that song before, but now that I close my eyes and imagine it in my head, his tone would be interesting on that song along with whatever clever rap he would come up with. Usually when rappers are featured on an r&b song they have a vulgar verse so I figured that Drake would be a better choice. I don’t want Mariah release any news before the 14th. I would rathersee she drops the song and then bombard the media/social networks with bits and pieces of info afterwards. If she drops the song the first week and then drops the video the second week and follow up with performances each week afterwards, she could shoot the song to number once with purchases and video streams. It is all a calculated/timed numbers game, if Miley can do it with Wrecking Ball, Mariah can too.

Mimi L, promo video / Justin T / Nas, rap collaborators (40,836) by RJJ12 from USA
Mimi L, what does the L in your name mean, or can you not reveal that because it's top secret. Lol. So it looks like the video might be in the can already. It seems like she might be a lot more prepared than her last attempt. She was still working on the album when she released #Beautiful. With the album complete, she should be able to focus her attention on promoting/performing the single. I'm against a collab with Justin, I dislike how his label wouldn't release when Mariah wasn't at the top of the charts in the early 2000s. He is talented but some of his songs from his latest efforts sound like left-overs from past albums. His harmonies are completely "influenced" from Timbaland's r&b group, Playa. You can clearly hear it in one of the group member's song for example, Static Major-Lova Lova. Nas is a hot collab, I actually prefer him over Jay-Z. He is very poetic. There are a select few from the new school of rappers that I would love Mariah to collaborate with. Kendrick Lamar would be a great mix over a Scott Storch piano driven beat. Drake would be another awesome duet. I had an idea where they both collaborated on Sylk-E-Fyne's-Romeo and Juliet, and re-write it while still using the beat and general idea of the song.

Mimi L / Enwar00 / Clueey23 / Austin (40,746) by RJJ12 from USA
Mimi L. from Bangladesh, I checked out the videos. They were ok, nothing remarkable, but if they are filming in the jungle in Puerto Rico, who knows what it might look like. I agree with your video choices/examples of her looking sexy (without trying to hard) yet classy. I hated how she portrayed herself in the Beautiful video. Too extra. I also loved how she appeared in The Roof video. She seemed to just be herself reminiscing about a past love. Enwar00, I love Wisegirls. Glitter was horrible and her acting was bad, but she totally redeemed herself in Wisegirls. She stole every scene and portrayed an actual character and the movie was really good. She needs more roles where she plays a character completely different from her actual persona. Clueey23, E=MC2 was a solid album full of singles. I wished she would have released I Stay In Love as the second single. It would have went #1 with promo. Everyone that hears it is like, what album was that on? As soon as the album dropped she disappeared and didn’t re-emerge until July but by then, no one cared and the momentum was lost. I never cared too much for Migrate but a lot of non-fans love it. When I play it they are like, that’s hot, who sings this? That’s a hit. Why didn’t she release it? Austin, I believe you are spot on as to the duets on the album.

Indrani / Mimi L. (40,719) by RJJ12 from USA
Thank you Mimi L. from Bangladesh. Wow I've never spoken to someone from Bangladesh. I really liked the cover for the Emancipation album. I always thought it was classy and age appropriate and the wardrobe matched the mood of the album (late 70s soul). If Indrani is involved in directing her video, it will be great to see the end result, especially if filmed in Puerto Rico.
