The Art of Letting Go (39,727) by VeliJames from Swaziland Love. Love. Love. I like the whole retro feel to it and the rawness to her vocals, I can totally see her performing this live and bringing it on home. Even though there's no thrills of her legendary whisper register, I can see her peppering this song live with it (like she often did with live performances of "Through the Rain"). The staccato and "wall of Mariah" vocals on past songs, while great on cd, didn't always translate to great vocals live. I do wish, however, that the production of the music could have been a little more in tandem with the lyrics, it feels like something is not altogether there with it. JD as new manager (39,398) by VeliJames from Swaziland No, no, no. Regardless of how much expertise he may have in the industry, he simply can't manage an artist of Mariah's level. With his financial troubles, it simply wouldn't look good for Mariah to have someone like that managing her. What happened to her managing herself, I thought was why she split with the brilliant Benny Medina in the first place, so could manage herself? Regardless of how great the new album is, without top notch management it's no going to sell much. That is the bottom line after all. (Thursday 3 October 2013; 23:18)
