I definitely agree with one of the previous comments about the way that Sony tried to make Mariah "respectable" and to tone down her blackness. People seem to be longing for "that" Mariah from the early 1990s, but that's clearly not who she is. She has reiterated that fact many, many times.

Yeah, Mariah does seem to get a bit incoherent and maybe even a little rude in interviews these days. But at the same time, the interviewers ask her the same damn questions over and over. "How is Nick?", "What about American Idol?", "How are the kids?" I would get irritated and bored as well if people couldn't come up with more creative questions to ask. Plus, it also seems like she did a ton of interviews in a short period of time. I don't think I've heard very many questions about the upcoming album.
