Pressed about promo? Get over it (45,345) by ss from Canada
It's not 1999 anymore, all of the delusion about promo for this single ain't gonna happen. Get mad, stay pressed because she's not gonna promote. It's a different time in the industry and you all know this so why cry over it? She's not selling, big deal, you have the album enjoy it. You want the Mimi "experience" all over the TV, mags and radio, go back to 2005 when people gave a crap about music. No one cares and you all know this, she's gotten mad press over the Internet, people are aware but no one's buying. She had 3 million people watching her home special on NBC along with whatever viewership from the Today Show performance, you think people didn't watch and aren't aware? She's over it, if the album sells it's gonna be solely based on whether YDKWTD is going to be a hit on radio and word of mouth. So you can all sit there and bitch like your life depends on it like you're entitled to it when nothing is going to change. Even some artists at the peak of their careers aren't selling right now and you're making a fuss over MC like you think it's another MiMi era. No one's telling anyone they can't post what they feel, just be a little respectful towards Mariah and a little less demanding over it. She doesn't owe you a dime, you chose to purchase her albums and you chose to be a fan or whatever you wanna call yourselves. I'm just tired of the rudeness on here in general. Take it for what it is, and just enjoy the album, it's out of your hands. You wanna do something, spread the word.

Thank you Alex from England and Anthony from Wales (45,307) by ss from Canada
You guys represent the few of us who are here solely for how amazing this album is, thanks for speaking up so eloquently for the rest and keeping Mariah's integrity in tact. Your words are appreciated as Mariah should be respected however you wish to criticize her. Let's not be ungrateful, she worked hard on bringing her past and present together on one perfect album and has created a greatest hits of her catalogue with 12 new songs. I don't need to hear her album everyday but whenever I listen to it, I'm enjoying every second, and hearing something new each time (like with all her albums). Mariah said it herself, the acceptance of love is the main theme in all her albums, and it's evident that she'll keep waiting for that since she can't even please her own fan base. At the end of the day it's her life and her words to share with the world, whether she's ever understood is a question that remains to be answered. Most critics love this album yet sadly the general public have yet to embrace it. We are fortunate to have had the opportunity to listen to it and reflect. My life is dependent on a Mariah song/ album/ soundtrack, so if she promotes her project or not doesn't phase me as long as I keep getting new material from her heart to feed my soul. She's just beyond every level, she's earned her place to do as she seems fit for herself and her family, please respect that.

Chill out people (42,947) by ss from Canada
I don't understand why people on here are pressed at how this era is turning out for them. It's not about you or the info leading up to the release date, it's about the final product at the end of the day. Comparing Mariah's work to that of a service from a waitress is disrespectful and it's also like comparing apples and oranges. Back in the day MC just released the damn album after her first single dropped and everything followed suit. Everyone is on edge constantly needing information and buying into so much miss-information, it's become a joke. There's a fixed date for May 6th, just roll with it, it's not that deep. I don't get why people are having panic attacks over the release date and album title. It's only another week so calm down, things will start popping up about the album in due time or all at once when it releases officially. Let's not over do this whole situation and draw conclusions when all everyone is doing is speculating. We won't know until MC tweets/facebooks/instagrams/press releases about the project herself. She said she wanted control, so at least give her some credit and protection of her own work. Until then, have a little faith, happy back catalogue listening everyone.

Re Nick drama (42,377) by ss from Canada
Nicholas Scott Cannon and Mariah Carey are two grown adults. His behaviour is what it is, he's blunt about his life and he always has been. I don't condone what he said but I'm not surprised either. He's got an album to promote with an image to portray which is why he's dressing in tanks and chains for whatever reason. MC's well aware of the man she married and vice versa. Who are we to criticize their choices and words spoken? They are both public figures and everything they say will be talked about and scrutinized by the media. Mariah made a great choice in marrying Nick because they created two beautiful children and are a happy family. Mariah is a smart woman who's been through a lot in her personal and public life, she wouldn't marry Nick if she didn't have an inclination of seeing a future with the guy. He obviously loves her as does she, it's not something to read under the table. Their relationship is a personal matter and calling names to her significant other isn't really going to change the fact that they're still together. If she's happy who are we to judge in her love? We are already judged by others by being a part of her "lambily" or however you wish to be called as her fan/friend. After all Mariah's essence is love, let's spread that instead of something that would hurt someone else.

Cool, Butterfly era and teal, pretty funky combo. Please do take a pic and share. I know it's something special so, if you feel like you're ready to share we'd be happy to see it.

Nice, what era did your pop art comprise of? Thanks. I really like that pic as well, reminds me of a Warhol inspired piece. I have a thing for incomplete portraits, leaves a lot of mystery and desire. That's why I love when Mariah covers part of her face with her hair, looks super sexy, a lot of celebrities can't pull that look off. She's totally the human Jessica Rabbit and I love her for finally bringing that to life lol.

Thanks, got it off this site. It's a pretty cool and creative site where people post their work. Search Mariah and you'll find a lot of her pics transformed into pop art, comic, and sketches among other styles made by fans. Check it out.

Funny enough I was listening to Charmbracelet and Butterfly the other day as well. I noticed some differences zoning out and taking in each song, like inflections and background vocal I never paid attention to before. Lately all I've been listening to is Mariah, everything else is subpar in comparison. Both albums have a timeless feel and they flow very well. We all know the epicness that Butterfly is, but Charmbracelet stands on its own, it sucks that it never was what it could have been. I think out of all her albums those two are her most personal, they read like an intimate journal, yet have so many parallels in terms of feel and content. They're both therapeutic in their own ways, I dunno how she manages to create magic with each album being consistent and having its own vibe whenever you're in a mood a Mariah album is always there to cure or help in any way. She does what most friends don't do and understands when know one else can, I guess that's why she is who she is, even when we're all miles away she's by our side. Speaking of anytime you need a friend, I totally get the pure and innocent thing with her first album, for me I find Music Box to be her purest in sound and innocent in her lyrics. Her first two albums were quite mature, although she still presented those two themes as well, and I feel she refined them in her third album. I guess that's why it's her most successful album thus far, she appealed to everyone universally at that time and in that magnitude.

Yeah I love it as well, it's refreshing and reminds me how intricate Mariah's songs really are. Just thought I'd put a break in between the drama of whether or not the new albums going to be delayed or not. We all have her back catalogue to listen to while we wait patiently. Each day I find a new melody, harmony, transition, background vocals, or something different in her songs that I hadn't heard before. There honestly needs to be a master class in song writing and singing on Mariah, she's just a genius at what she does. We're way too critical, I mean she gives us her soul and we feel entitled to it. I'm just grateful new music is on its way if it's in May, June or July so be it. It's her music to give when she's ready to release it.
