Mariah's new album (37,491) by darnell from United States I don't know about anyone else here, but I don't think we'll be getting the new album in May. I think she'll probably perform the first single from the album on the Idol finale, which is in May. Unless she plans on releasing the single within the next week or two, I don't think she'll have enough time to promote the album properly, unless she pushed it back from May. I actually would prefer if she waited untill after AI, so that she's not confined to just Idol promotion. Sometimes I don't think we realize that if Mariah decided to use Idol for promotion, she wouldn't really have time to promote much further than that, because when she leaves Idol, she rushes home to dem babies. Mariah's success (37,371) by darnell from United States It seems like people here are starting to doubt Mariah's commercial viability lately. Triumphant flopped and Almost Home hasn't even graced the top 20, so now people are losing there heads. Saying things like "I think Mariah's past her fame" and "this next album might flop". When did the lambs become so defeated? An artist as big as Mariah is always one hit away from a huge resurgence. All Mariah needs is one song to catch on and she's back where she belongs. I thought everyone learned the last time to never count Mariah out. (Monday 11 March 2013; 1:32)

TJ (36,815) by darnell from United States I beg to differ. I think Mariah has plenty of "evergreens". One Sweet Day and We Belong Together were both songs of the decade and I think people still remember them. Always Be My Baby and Dreamlover were both songs that I had been familiar with since before I knew who Mariah Carey was. Both also, in my opinion, have a timeless feel to them and are memorable. Another song that I think is timeless is Mariah's rendition of Joy To The World; I always hear her version during Christmas time on the radio. That being said, I think your being a little modest when it comes to MC's music. (Thursday 22 November 2012; 16:45)

New album (36,541) by darnell from United States I honestly don't mind if Mariah's working with Dream, as long as they're only doing a song or two. I just hope Mariah's not boxing herself in and she works with other producers besides the usual suspects. I wouldn't mind her working with Diplo (the guy who did Climax by Usher) or Rick Rubin (the guy who did Adele's One And Only). I would just like her to diversify her sound and not be so redundant. Mariah needs Tommy Mottola (36,287) by darnell from United States I think Mariah has lost her way in music. I'm not saying she needs Tommy in particular, I'm just saying she needs some guidance at this point, because there is no way Tommy Mottola's Mariah would have released her first single as a featured artist. I think she has a lot of yes people around her and she needs someone to come in and say no. She needs someone like Clive Davis or her ex husband to put her back on the right track, because she don fell off imo. (Thursday 6 September 2012; 22:20)

Mariah's too humble (36,112) by darnell from United States I think Mariah's problem is she's too humble. For some reason she doesn't realize who she is. I don't think she realizes that she's on MJ's level as far as icon status and people expect certain things from her. Or maybe she doesn't care. I don't hate Triumphant but it definitely shouldn't have been a lead single. It's more than likely a buzz single. I just think Mariah should take herself and her career more seriously. The new era (36,075) by darnell from United States What is it with people being so critical of Triumphant? If you don't like the song or video, you don't have to keep posting the same comments. It's annoying. Mariah has till March to get everything right, so everyone should calm down, it's just 1 song not the entire album. (Wednesday 22 August 2012; 17:12)
