Ideas (47,657) by S from England What do fans on this messageboard believe got Mariah's vocal condition improving drastically lately? The opening in Japan was so disappointing, then so quickly she turned it around with these past shows. I contend that the answer may have lay I'm the criticism she endured for those opening shows. I feel she might have enlisted a vocal specialist or a stricter vocal regime focusing on vocal hygiene and benign nodule/callus management. Whatever it is, it's certainly working. Great single (43,602) by S from England Is there something wrong with lambs? They want an up-tempo radio/club friendly song. Oh no, now they want a ballad. Oh now they want a jazz themed song. Just stop. The song is great, it's a hit and it's nice and catchy. Some of you have a nerve to be comparing it to Triumphant. Just don't please. Great choice Mariah, and I know that with or without the support of the immediate lamb community, this song will definitely reach the top 20 if not higher. Good effort Mimi - 7.5/10. What does she want (41,931) by S from England Hi lambs, hopefully everyone is having a great 2014 so far. I wanted to contribute to the discussion on Mariahs' recent chart under-performance lately. It is my opinion what Mariah has to do to become very relevant once again. She's essentially been in this business since a lot of us were just toddlers. If she wants to really spice it up and get a hit #1 single, she has the resources, experience and determination to do it. But that's just it. I don't think she's really that interested in that kind of path right now. Her team would have made her aware of the under performace of YME (although it's still early days), just like they would have told her about Triumphant. She is aware. If Mariah knows that she does want another good era, I think the following need to be exercised pretty soon: new image - slender, classier and older, a bit of weight loss, and elegant modern look. Music: less urban, more dancey - uptempo, fun and catchy for both young and old. I heard she's worked with Mike Will Made it, hopefully it's uptempo. And lastly, she needs to be everywhere. Like it or not, if she's not out there working and promoting it to every show that will have her, she will struggle with the charts. These will all ensure some moderate hits and songs that don't jump out of the iTunes 1000. Just my two cents, I'm open to what others think so fire away. Take care. (Sunday 2 March 2014; 19:52)

Stephen and Stacey (37,996) by S from England No Stephen, I'm not missing anything, certainly not in this instance. The aim of my previous posts exemplified the fact that a lot of fans have this sense of "entitlement"' to receive these incredible spellbinding performances which in reality have not been achieved by her since the year 2004 (subjectively). So your argument to state that the point of a record deal means the artist is obliged to sell "a lot" is flawed. Many artists nowadays do not have significant singing abilities and some do not even sell a lot. Vintage artists like Mariah are not expected by their labels to prove themselves further with big sellers, partly due to age which often translates to them not being the labels main focus anymore. Evidence of them not promoting her last two albums are so evident you'd have to be blind not to realize, should we discuss the promo of Memoirs compared to Rihanna's Rater R? Whether or not record deals are for making profit or not, that should not interfere with her own personal stage attributes and qualities. I'm well aware that many are not familiar with her vintage material, but that does not stop here from being the biggest selling female recording artist of the Nielsen SoundScan era. At the end of the day Stephen, I'm sure if she could give us those spellbinding performances she would. We do not know the woman on a personal level, so I'm not going to assume that she should "give" us this type of performance that some request. May I also add, I feel that as Mariah fans, we actaully should comment on her performances, but I don't know if anyone else feels like this, but it's just irritating to see fans act as if they know her personally or the damage that she has sustained on her voice. Just enjoy and appreciate her for what she is and what she has done a little more. If I was here and saw all these messages, I'd just feel a bit tired and hopeless that I see soo much negativity on what I can offer now, despite all I have given to you all before, if you know what I mean? I just can't anymore (37,963) by S from England I can't remember the last time I felt like I wanted to engage in a online disagreement than right now. I just scroll and see people's comments like Stephen's and they just miss the whole point. If Mariah released Beautiful and decided she doesn't even want to perform it or just lypsync it, it really doesn't matter at this stage of her life. I'll say it once again, Mariah has nothing left to prove. Fans are here still discussing her only because she has chosen to keep giving the fans a little music here and there but she is under no obligation to "come back with a hard new era" or "get serious". We're lucky she's still singing at all. You want to criticize artists and judge them, then go to Katy Perry or Nicki fan sites because they are early on in their careers. Mariah has been going since 1990. People need to chill, it's not that serious geez. She's earned her place guys (37,935) by S from England Okay, so people are postulating on various views on which parts of her medley were sang live or not. But here is my point, some of you are saying you want to hear Mariah "sing like before" or want "your friends to like her". I just can't understand what exactly Mariah has left to prove or present to the world at this stage of her career. The way I see it, is if I had been in the business for 23 years and had been singing so well, and had seen my name rise to the top of the Billboard charts 18 times, and see my name placed for titles like "song of the decade" twice etc, I certainly wouldn't feel like it would be worth having to prove anything to anybody. So if you're friends with people who don't like her, or if it's people on this page that criticize a woman who clearly has vocal issues which she can't control, then leave them them to their own devices. I'm done with expecting stellar "Hero" type performances of 1993. Voices change due to wear and tear and it's clear to me that since 97, things had changed and it had never really recovered. She's still better than most of the garbage that's out there, no names, cough *sips water*. So, if you feel she's ever really really bad, we could have a discussion, but come on now people, her voice has been in this state since 2004, so what's new? Stay safe everyone.
