Re: Help Japan store, The Rarities (95,201) (95,202) by David from Australia
I've ordered from CDJapan multiple times and they've always been reliable. I ordered Caution and Merry Christmas Anniversary Edition from there and they arrived within two weeks. I've also ordered The Rarities. I can't wait to watch the concert in HD even though I already own a very professional looking fan made CD/DVD set I found online. Shipping is very expensive though, but for Mariah, it's worth it haha.

Re: Hopes for Butterfly EPs (94,920) (94,923) by David from Australia
Thanks for the recap Bill. Very much appreciated. That would've taken a while. MC really spoilt the lambs that era. I own most of the CD releases but as you mentioned, those ridiculously expensive South African promo CDs have always been the ones that got away. I saw one on eBay going for over a grand which I cannot justify splurging on anymore as I get older haha. I miss the days when I could spend all my weekly earnings on a rare Mariah CD lol. I think the Number Ones era will be a seperate week so you can have a rest till then haha.

Re: Daydream EPs (94,901) (94,912) by David from Australia
I've been loving getting all these EP's available on streaming. It's so nice to have something to look forward to every Friday. I always wake up early to see what she's added to streaming services. I can't wait for my favourite era to start next Friday. I wonder what performances she might upload. I hope she includes the Meme remixes. They're amazing and so hard to find. Bill, I'm waiting for your Butterfly era remixes recap haha.

Re: Mariah should release her shows on DVD (88,292) (88,326) by David from Australia
Would anyone be willing to buy me a copy and send it to Australia? They don't ship to here unfortunately and I would love to have that Butterfly tour DVD. I'll happily pay all the necessary costs.

Runway (86,077) by David from Australia
Can anyone from Japan confirm if the cd features the Mariah only version of the song or is it with the featured artist?

I wonder if you might have an item I'm after. Do you have an email address so we can get in touch?

Memoirs (82,381) by David from Australia
I'm curious if there are many other fans that love the Memoirs album as much as I do. Personally, it's one of my favourites from her; definitely in my top five. I've seen it get so much dislike on this message board which really surprises me. It's her most cohesive body of work to date and each song flows seamlessly from one to the next. Even though it has more tracks than a typical Mariah album, it doesn't feel overlong at all, unlike MIAM or Charmbracelet. I especially love the old-school R&B vibe of the album; it has such a classic feel to it. Ribbon, The Impossible, Languishing, Candy Bling and Angel's Cry are also some of her best work. If only it had been promoted better, it would've received the justice it deserved. A better cover would've helped too, but otherwise it's a definite highlight in an amazing discography for me.

Re: The stolen idea (73,170) (73,172) by David from Australia
I still don't think it was Taylor though since MC complimented her on WWHL.

Social media interaction (72,233) by David from Australia
I'm loving the constant social media interaction that MC has been doing with the fans on Twitter and Facebook lately. She said she'll release more albums in the future and that she hopes to perform I Don't on a television program but doesn't know which. I don't understand how this hasn't already been organised by her management if they really want the single to do well. I see potential in the song to possibly reach the top 20 in the US charts but it needs to be promoted. It was doing surprisingly well and some promo would really help give it the boost it needs.

Why You Mad remix (55,881) by David from Australia
I don't hate the song, but it's nothing special. Montana gets a bit annoying and I only like one of TI's lines, which is disappointing because he's normally really good. Surprisingly, I didn't hate Justin on the track like I thought I would. His verse was one of the better parts of the song. I hope the song does well, but I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't. Bit of a weak effort compared to MC's usual remixes.

Damion (53,730) by David from Australia
Here we go. Another Nate, another Walter. He calls himself a gentleman, says he'd never kiss and tell and that he truly loves Mariah, whilst also stating that she doesn't have people she can trust in her life. Ironically, he then goes and sells his story to the media because he's desperate for some relevancy. I couldn't possibly think of any reason why Mariah has a hard time trusting people. Look at all these "friends" she has around her. If he was really her friend, he'd have said all this in private to her. Instead, he just did what he accused everyone else around her of doing. I feel sorry for her in that regard. It's hard enough to find decent friends, let alone when you're a celebrity.

Live Nation CD cancellation (53,509) by David from Australia
I just received an email saying the message was sent in error to everyone who preordered, so we'll still be getting the CD. No need to worry.

I got the same message today after being told my order had been shipped a few days ago. It's very confusing. I might call them just to clarify.

Re: Boyz II Men question (52,660) by David from Australia
Basically, Nate wrote a long rant on Facebook about Mariah's bad "habits" because she messed up a few performances. I guess Mariah can't afford a phone, so he felt the only way to make his opinion known was by posting it publicly for the world to see. "So many I considered closest to me, turned on a dime and sold me out dutifully." You'd think he'd be aware that as with any other artist (including himself), there are going to be bad days. Also, he somehow neglected to mention all the other amazing performances she did that year. Go figure.

Memoirs / Infinity (52,658) by David from Australia
So glad to see some love for Memoirs. It's in my Mariah top 5. It's one of the few albums of hers that actually has a proper flow and as an album it just works so well from beginning to end. The lyrics are so witty and clever and it's such a great throwback rnb album. I didn't like it much at first, but it's one of those albums where you only realize the beauty of it after a few listens. The most underrated album of her career along with Charmbracelet in my opinion. Infinity also gives me a Memoirs vibe, so I absolutely love the song. Such witty lyrics and I love how it goes into different places as it progresses. I agree with Mariah when she says that it encompasses all the type of music she's released. It's a bit of everything, which is why I love it so much. I hope it's a success for her.

It's a compilation album (51,795) by David from Australia
Therefore, no one is expecting this to be Mariah's biggest seller. As many have said, it's a great tie-in with the Vegas residency and people attending the shows will buy it. It's also a great way for people to rediscover her, especially as it's mainly her number ones that people remember from her. If Infinity goes to number one this album will be the perfect collection of all of her number one songs up to this point and that would truly be an amazing album. I mean, how many artists can say they have a full album of just number ones? These type of albums do sell. As Shelly said, look at the Beatles compilation or even Elvis' 30 #1 hits. Those were and still are huge sellers. And as Will from England said, she already has the lambs and this is a great move to get the general public interested in her again. Then she'll slay us with a new album full of great new music and hopefully even more number ones to follow.

#1 to infinity (51,716) by David from Australia
I think this is just a release to compliment the Vegas residency so I'm not that fussed that there's only one new song. I'm glad it's being released on vinyl as well.

Nostalgia (51,431) by David from Australia
I love reading all your stories. I was born in 1992 so I missed early Mariah. The first time I remember a Mariah album in my life was in 1998 when my dad bought a new stereo and with it came a bunch of cd's including Butterfly and #1's. I never listened to Butterfly (which is my fave album now haha) but I loved #1's. I played the hell out of Fantasy remix and Sweetheart. I still remember sitting in the kitchen so many times listening to the cd while everyone else was trying to watch tv in the other room. Still have the radio I used to play it on. No digital devices then so I carried that radio and cd everywhere I went haha. Then in 1999 my sister bought the Rainbow cassette and being young, I left the cassette on the wet floor of my grandparents' shed and when my sister came back for it, the cassette and packaging was completely damaged. She was so angry at me haha. My last memory when I was only a casual fan was buying the Loverboy single and it had a sticker for the forthcoming Glitter album. I didn't become a lamb until much later though, but they're fond memories to look back on.

Mariah's lateness (47,907) by David from Australia
At the Sydney show, she was only late by half an hour. I was surprised as I was expecting her to be at east an hour and a half late haha.

The supposed drastic decline (47,193) by David from Australia
For the haters complaining that Mariah has lost her ability to sing and that she's going the way of Whitney due to one night's bad performance, please take a look at the second Tokyo show which she performed at tonight. That's all that needs to be said.

Is this Mariah? (45,962) by David from Australia

I found this on YouTube. Apparently, it's a demo from the Glitter era called "Everytime". Do you think it's actually an unreleased song? It does sound like her, although the voice has been altered slightly most likely due to copyright.

Japan cover (43,419) by David from Australia
The Japan cover is amazing. So reminiscent of Charmbracelet, an album I absolutely love. Put the two covers side by side and they're so similar.

Album push back (42,752) by David from Australia
Based on the long silence, it seems the album has been pushed back. I wish people would stop blaming JD though; it's not his fault the album's not ready. Mariah is clearly not finished with the album and understandably doesn't want it to be heard for that reason. I'd rather have her delay the album again, despite how frustrating it might be at the moment, rather than have her release an album that's only half finished just to stick to a date. I'd prefer great quality music in the long run, as opposed to a bunch of incomplete songs just thrown together.

Re: Mariah's Hot 100 #2's (42,033) by David from Australia
I'm still baffled that Butterfly, Anytime You Need A Friend, Without You and I Still Believe didn't reach number one. They're among her best songs in my opinion.

Trey Songz (41,949) by David from Australia
He's a great artist, but his solo verses added nothing to the song. To me, they sound like they were written in 5 minutes and little thought was put into them. I also agree about the autotune thing, which is why I prefer the original version over the remix. I'm excited to hear the full version of the original on the abum.
