Mariah Carey Triumphant (Get 'Em) - 5 out of 5 stars
Mariah Carey's still got the best voice in modern pop, and "Triumphant (Get 'Em)", her brand new single with Rick Ross and Meek Mill, is shimmering and shining proof. With soulful swagger and classic R&B poise, she delivers the track's stadium-size hook over bombastic, orchestral production. Meek Mill fires off an empowering rhyme over a piano-driven verse as Carey's harmonies color the track vibrantly.
Meanwhile, Rick Ross, at his hottest right after God Forgives, I Don't, stands out as simply infectious and impenetrable. "A don, a diva, the bomb achiever" is like Ross's roll call for the song as he adds, "The game gets deeper". 'Nuff said.
At the center of the song lies one of Carey's biggest hooks. She croons, "Can't fall down, stay triumphant keep on living", and it resounds brilliantly. The words feel utterly a propos, but mostly they signal the return of one of the most "Triumphant" the game has ever scene. (Artist Direct)
