They are divas in their own right. But Katy Perry swapped her role as an entertainer to join the countless fans at Mariah Carey's residency at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas on Sunday. Joining forces backstage at the famous venue, the pair couldn't resist a glamorous shot together before the show commenced, which saw them flaunt their figures in cleavage-enhancing dresses.
Commanding attention in their slinky choices of attire, Mariah was typically attention-grabbing in her floor-length gown which not only boasted a plunging neckline, but also a sequinned finish. Keeping it classy, she resisted an over-abundance of accessories - instead simply sporting a golden glow and some matching make-up. With a demure side-parting, she looked suitably glamorous for the latest date in her long-running residency.
Meanwhile, Katie went for a more colourful option, which boasted a baby blue fitted dress with equally busty detail and a thigh-high slit. Drawing focus to her chest, she draped a pair of pearls around her neck and added kitsch texture with a pink stowel. Capping the look with a heavy pair of earrings, she had clearly made an effort for the event, which sees Mariah perform a medley of hits to an adoring crowd.
Shortly after both women delighted their online audience by sharing the images on Instagram and other social networking platforms. One shot saw Katy pose in front of a huge billboard poster of Mariah at the world-famous venue in Nevada, which has previosuly seen residencies from the likes of Britney Spears and Celine Dion. Cryptically, she captioned the image with "lambily for life" - which helped it garner 200,000 likes in less than one day. Meanwhile, the first picture which saw them pose backstage attracted 233,000.
Minutes later, 45-year-old Mariah delivered another performance of her #1 To Infinity concert series to a sold-out crowd inside the 4,100 seated arena, where Katy and her entourage enjoyed a special seat. The estranged wife of Nick Cannon performed her 18 number one hits in chronological order donning several costume gowns and even bringing out expensive props such as a neon yellow jet ski and hot pink Thunderbird convertible on stage.
Ticket prices are in the range of $250,$175,$140,$95 and $55. Mariah's final show date is scheduled for July 26 but has the possibility of adding more shows in the future depending on the success throughout the summer months.
