Mariah Carey made quite the dramatic entrance at the 2016 NBC Universal Upfront Presentation for her new docu-series. Proving her diva credentials once again, the 46-year-old songstress was carried out onto the stage while reclining on a velvet chaise lounge. On top of that, the singer wore a skimpy sheer bodysuit for that wow factor as she made her appearance at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
The garment was adorned with glitter and showed off lots of the star's cleavage. She teamed it with matching sparkly Louboutin heels. The mother-of-two eventually hopped off the plush purple chair to chat with Bravo host Andy Cohen about her new show Mariah's World.
While on stage, the singer also introduced the trailer for her eight part docu-series. In it Mariah offers a glimpse at her famous diva side as she explains to the camera why she's wearing a pair of over-sized sunglasses despite being indoors.
"I have a rule which states that I will not be seen in fluorescent lighting without sunglasses," she says, as the trailer flashes to more footage of her putting on sunglasses in fluorescent lighting to prove her point, before she adds: "I know it's very Nineties." The star is also seen telling people to "forget the image, forget the rumors," as she adds, "I owe this to the fans."
The trailer begins with Mariah making herself laugh as she practices a myriad of ways to introduce herself. "I am not Cinderella. My life has not been a fairy tale," the star can then be heard saying, among a collection of celebratory and glamorous images that seemingly prove the contrary.

She can be seen sporting long, sparkly dresses, climbing out of private jets, and posing for photographs among clips from a fireworks display as the trailer continues. As Mariah said at the Upfronts, a common thread throughout the trailer is that people don't really know the hitmaker.
In the clip she is described as "misunderstood", before she shares: "I'm like anybody else." Mariah also praised her fans in the video, the very people she said the documentary was made for. "My fans are unparalleled. Nobody gets it," the We Belong Together singer shared, at what looked to be a fan event. Following some concert footage, the trailer closes with Mariah sharing: "I don't think everyone knows anything about me."
Earlier that day Mariah looked glamorous in a long-sleeved, figure-hugging animal print mini dress and fishnet stockings as she arrived at the NBC Universal 2016 Upfronts to discuss her upcoming show. And despite having a bit of a wardrobe malfunction on the way in - tripping on one of her sky-high Louboutin heels - she showed off a big smile as she posed on the blue carpet.
