This girl may never age, but Mariah Carey has certainly sparked her fair share of plastic surgery speculation during her time in the spotlight! The Long Island native, 47, recently shared this throwback photo on her Instagram account from her 1999 album, Rainbow - and when you think about how she looks today in 2017, it is hard to believe this is even the same pop star. Honestly...how is this possible?!
In Touch spoke with plastic surgeons Dr. Gary Goldenberg and Dr. Rian Maercks, both of whom has never treated Mariah, and they were able to offer some expert reasoning as to why her appearance has transformed so dramatically.
Fans have seen changes in her face, breasts, stomach, and butt over the years - and there could, in fact, be a reason for that. On a happier note, the mother-of-two has also been making headlines as of late thanks to her incredible weight loss journey.
Her boyfriend, Bryan Tanaka, is one lucky guy - and we bet her exes Nick Cannon and James Packer are so jealous.
"Her bust appears to be enhanced by high-profile subpectoral breast implants and possibly additional fat transfer," says Dr. Maercks. Dr. Maercks continues, "Her buttocks appears fuller which could either be implants or fat transfer aka 'Brazilian Butt Lift'," which he states is "a very common procedure".
"She's blessed with very balanced facial features and symmetry. These remain in the after boot. Her forehead is completely smooth, likely result of regular Botox injections and laser resurfacing or micro needling to smooth out fine wrinkles and lines. She's also had Botox around her eyes - she has no crow's feet when she smiles," Dr. Goldenberg explains.
"Her cheeks have always been full, but they are likely augmented with filler, such as Juvederm or Restylane. Her eyes a more upturned in a current photo - a result that may be achieved with facial contouring with fillers, such as Radiesse or Bellafill. She's also rid of her gummy smile - something that can be achieved with Botox. Her lips remain nicely shaped and full - she's likely keeping up with Restylane or Juvederm injections there."
He then adds, "She's also likely getting regular chemical peels or laser treatment for her skin - it is better now than it was before. Her pores are smaller and there's no evidence of dyspigmentation."
As for her midsection, Dr. Maercks explains that "she appears heavier today with a similar waistline so likely it was liposuction of the abdomen and the fat extracted was likely used to enhance the buttocks and possibly breasts."
