"Sugar Sweet" lands top 5 debut

Mariah Carey‘s new single "Sugar Sweet", featuring Shenseea and Kehlani, is already tasting chart success. The candy-coated track debuts at No. 2 on Billboard's R&B Digital Song Sales chart, led by Chris Brown's "It Depends" with Bryson Tiller.

Carey's 25th entry on the chart becomes her 17th top 10 hit. Of those, 11 have reached the top 5. Her previous entry on the chart was in June with "Type Dangerous", which debuted at No. 1. Here is an overview of Mariah Carey's top 5 hits on Billboard's R&B Digital Song Sales chart:

"Sugar Sweet" was released July 25 via MARIAH/gamma. Carey and HARV produced the track, which includes co-writing credits from Felisha King Harvey. It's the second single from her new album, Here For It All, which releases September 26.

Carey's 16th album will also include "Type Dangerous", which was released as the first single on June 6. The hip-hop soul production is currently No. 2 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart, led by Kevin Ross' "Love in the Middle".
