I have been a Lamb since 1990. I know Mariah. I love her music. I breathe her music.

Rich Harrison (113,333)
by Bobby A from United States

Does anyone know why MC never collaborated with Rich Harrison? He has some hit songs like Crazy In Love, Ring The Alarm, 1 Thing, and Get It Right. It is just odd that MC never jumped on that bandwagon. Maybe she didn't like the fact all of his songs tyically have a frenetic vocal performance and an intense percussion sound.

Type Dangerous and why it failed (113,314)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
Type Dangerous' intro beat is sick with a clever hip hop sample. However, the beat for the lyrics and chorus is underwhelming. The minimalist production for the sassier lyrics take center stage and that was a bad production choice. I have to say Type Dangerous is MC's weakest first single ever. Through the Rain is her second weakest single. I hope MC can create something like Honey or Loverboy for MC17.

Yes, I know MC has reflected upon her missteps with HFIA and now has a plan to give us a Mariah Carey album we have not heard since Daydream, Butterfly or TEOM. I just feel MC is getting ready to join the following legacy artists in the Grammy platinum album comeback club.
1. Steely Dan - Two Against Nature (2000) 2. Paul Simon - Graceland (1986) 3. D'Angelo - Black Messiah (2014) 4. Santana - Supernatural (1999) 5. Green Day - American Idiot (2004) 6. Loretta Lynn Van Lear Rose (2004)

That's so exciting to hear, are you a detective Bobby haha? Seems like you know a lot about Mariah's whereabouts. I really hope Mariah's next album makes a splash and she finally gets those Grammys she deserves .Mariah deserves a Norah Jones or Billie Eilish moment. I hope Gamma can make it happen if the music is Grammy worthy.

Yes, I do. Daniel Moore said, "That's it MC." It sounds like he says, "I got it." However, he forgot to turn off his mic in the control room. MC must have recorded multiple takes and Daniel Moore was ready to go home.

Thank you, Giovanni. I just keep having these strong feelings and visions that MC is preparing to come back stronger with MC17. MC was seen recently at Hit Factory Studios meeting with recording engineer Kento Yonesaka (worked on MIAM) and a producer from MIAM. She seems hungry to be on top again knowing that seven years between albums is something that she should never do again. Maybe Bruno Mars and Jill Scott have inspired her.

Haha that is probably the best dream you've ever had Bobby, and I love your name by the way. Are you sure it was a dream and not your imagination/fantasy? In another universe that would happen but I'm not gonna hold my breath. I do believe Mariah has it in her to have another hit song, record and Grammy win. I'm still not over the Academy robbing her for AOTY in '06. I do feel Mariah has something planned for her next album though. Most of us love HFIA but feel it didn't make any noise. I love "In your feelings" and it hit number one on the r&b chart so that should count for something. I really hope Mariah's voice gets better and she gets another Grammy moment I believe she deserves.

I had a dream (113,288)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
I had dream last night that MC would be back on top again in 2028. Here is what I dreamed about.
1. MC releases her 17th album entitled, I'm Back (In Arms Your Again) - JD/BMC/Crystal Johnson/Johnta Austin collaboration 2. She collaborates again with Walter A., Babyface, JD, Skillrex, and some top producers and songwriters of the last 10 years. 3. Critics rave that MC's voice is back. Some say her Butterfly tone is back to stay. Her whistle range is "Emotions" strong again. 4. The first single makes it to number one in less than 5 weeks. 5. Many Lambs say the Bruno Mars, Sza, Toni Braxton, and Fred Again collaborations are their favorites. 6. MC embarks on a 30-city summer/fall tour in the U.S. The first show is at Proctors Theater. The last show is at Madison Square Garden. 7. The second single is a Pop R&B ballad collaboration with Walter A. and Babyface that is reminisce of Love Takes Time and Everytime I Close my Eyes. 8. One year later after the release of a deluxe version, eight Grammy nominations, numerous of television performances, a Rock and Hall of Fame Inductee, and the 2029 Superbowl Half-time show performer, MC finally wins multiple Grammy awards including Album of the Year and Record of the Year at the Grammys. 9. MC sits down with Oprah for a May TV sweeps interview about her remarkable career and the rollercoaster ride of 2028 and 2029. 10. MC finally falls in love again with a wealthy NFL coach.

Type Dangerous: MC and the Epstein files (113,265)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
Tommy pursued Mariah and crossed the boundary between a boss and his employee. MC trusted Tommy thinking he would heal her childhood wounds and guide her career. I think MC has always looked for a male friend or partner to give her that fatherly guidance that she longed for from Alfred Roy. L.A. Reid comes to my mind being that positive father figure in her life and career. If you could pull back the many layers of her traumatic childhood, you would understand why she gravitated towards certain men and women after Tommy.

by Geronimo from USA

It just dawned on me that MC had 2 romantic relationships with men in the infamous Epstein files: Tommy Mattola and James Packer. If we throw in Sean Combs, Brett Ratner and Naomi Campbell, also associates with MC, we get a clearer sense of how patterns from her morally perverted upbringing seem to have impacted her capacity to make sound choices as an adult. I hope she has a superhuman therapist for herself and her twin children.

MC's next album (113,257)
by Bobby A from United States
| |

There is still another deeply personal album left in MC. Butterfly was a personal album because it was the album where she became liberated from a tough personal period in her life. One more personal album in 2029 may yield the Grammy moment that MC has been waiting for. Plus, Roc and Roe will be 18 years old in 2029.

MC's next album (113,251)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
Do you think MC's next album will have to be her most personal album to date? I think MC needs to create a body of work that has a bold relatable album title that makes the non-Lamb scrolling on social media say, "Hmmm?" The album has to read like a personal diary with an infusion of jazz, pop, dance, and R&B. I want to hear more of the good, the bad, and the ugly next time. MC is going have to make a bold personal statement with her next album like Jill Scott did today.

TMB (113,247)

Touch My Body is one my favorite the "sound of Atlanta" songs. It came out at a time when MC's voice got better after she lost weight. Also, It seemed like her popularity increased during this time as well. TMB was a fun period for MC and her 18th #1 single. It would be another career moment if she could score her 20th number one in the next three years.

"Touch My Body" trended on X, celebrating its achievement of becoming Mariah Carey's 18th No. 1 hit. She looks amazing in the various live performances of this song. Back then, she was in her late 30s, but her figure was at its peak - sexy and healthy at the same time. It's clear that she embodied the song's themes and made sure her body was "worth touching".
As for the track itself, I was captivated from the moment I first heard it. It doesn't feature any whistle notes or extensive belting, and it has a fun, relaxing vibe. The music video perfectly complements the song's feel. Even now, she can still perform this song beautifully, showcasing the quality of her current voice.

So true. Music these days is really bad. I don't listen to pop radio anymore because that reason. I am sure Arif Madrin, Jerry Wexler, and Tom "T-Bone" Wolk would be so unhappy with today's music if they were alive.

I just arrived at home and put on the old YouTube. The algoritme decided to kick off with "When You Believe". Bloody hell. What happened to music and true artistry? What Mariah have ya'll been watching? (113,217)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|

Mariah Carey existed somewhere between Love Takes Time and I'm That Chick. Diva Mariah was created afterwards and she can't let go of the shtick. It is sad, but MC uses it to compensate for the loss of her instrument. I don't think any Lamb would be mad at MC for taking a break from the stage for 5-10 years and find Mariah Carey again. Lord knows she needs to find Mariah Carey again.

by Randy from USA

What she did at the Olympics is what she's done for ten years. Look flawless so people comment on that and not her singing or stage presence. The show is the diva not the musician. I expected what she gave. What's the point of criticism anymore? When you book Mariah, you book glamour and zombiesm singing to a tape. And how dramatic is it to say she ruined the ceremony. She didn't thrown axes into the audience. There were other performers there. I took some time off of social media and I come back to this. People really need to get a life because this is par for the course and not the most important national/world event currently.

Lol, nonsensical Yas Queen logic at play. You can either sing or you can't. The language you're singing in doesn't change your tone, agility, range, or how dynamic a singer you are. Plenty of singers can sing capably across different languages. And Mariah managed it in the past with her Spanish takes of Hero, My All and Open Arms. And on top of all that, it was lipped anyway.
It was just a bad performance. One to add to the ever increasing list. Until she gets the help she so desperately needs, or explains what debilitating disease she is suffering from, this is all we will get from now on.

What MC really needs moving forward (113,189)
by Bobby A from United States
| |

I have been thinking all day about what MC needs for that "big moment" in the spotlight for at least 6 months before she drops a new album. First, she needs a Diane Warren collaboration theme song for an upcoming new movie or sequel. Second, she needs a JD and Johnta Austin follow-up to We Belong Together without repeating the same formula. Third, MC needs a high profile collaboration this year. Finally, she needs a young manager who can put her back on top with her current voice.

Looked beautiful and the recording which is obviously recent sounded so ethereal and smooth. Lipping and no movement was expected but I wish she looked a little less vacant. She was totally animated and present in her recent Grammy videos so I was hoping that would carry through but I guess her stage fright is just progressing now at these major events where she's glued to monitors and scared to forget the words. At least the arrangement, vocals and the look were great. At this point we just have to take our wins wherever we can.

I think it's okay to make political statements, though I wish more celebrities would just keep those to themselves. Too many blindly follow whatever celebrities say/do, and I wish people would think for themselves rather than allowing Bad Bunny, Billie Eilish, etc. do the thinking for them.
My issue is handing out awards to artists (or nominating) to make a statement rather giving awards on the basis of the merits of the artist or the work itself. It erodes the credibility of the award.

I thought every artist did a spectactular rendition of MC's songs. The only rendition that I did not particularly like was Maggie Rogers' soulful version of Honey. She made Honey too soulful for me. She stripped the melody down way too much that I could not understand what she saying. I give her performance a 4 out of 10.

Me too. She made Obsessed her own song. MC was really pleased with her performance as she was singing along with a smile. Kesha's performance really made me hear The Dream's melodic influence on Obsessed. Kesha really brought out his playful lyrical style. She has always been known for that.
