Charmbracelet to Caution vocals compared (113,441) by Bobby A from United States Happy Friday everyone. I have a vocal decline theory. I think I have figured out what caused MC's vocal decline from Glitter to Caution. Before Charmbracelet, MC's voice could relatively bounce back from vocal fatigue after vocal rest. However, when she started taking her bipolar medication after the Glitter album was completed, this is when we could hear a dramatic change in her voice with each post Glitter album. Caution gave us the most dramatic and noticable change in her voice that we had seen prior to HFIA in 2025. In my opinion, it has to be the bipolar medication that has caused MC's vocal decline. Her speaking voice has been affected as well. You can definitely hear how MC's speaking voice is coarse and not as fluid at times like it was 20 years ago during the TEOM era. Can someone elaborate more with an analysis of my theory that her bipolar medication is the real catalyst that caused her vocal decline? (Friday 20 March 2026; 10:14)

MTV Unplugged (113,424) by MusicfanJ from Germany It's indeed a very interesting thought. "Just focused on creating soulful, genuine and sincere music." Less concerts, smaller venues, less fame, but still enough to live a wealthy life, but more relaxed and maybe the voice would still be there. Of course we will never know. Yes, she conquered the world. But the costs were high for it. But I think she wanted to be the ultimate global superstar, because of her early experiences. So she gave everything and beyond. The MTV Unplugged is music history. She was so good and showed everyone that she's a true artist, with a voice "out of this world". I also think she looked real confident. She knew she was unstoppable. Her little shyness here and there makes it even more adorable. I always loved the combination of being so sweet but at the same time confident and smart. That was Mariah for me. The live version of "If it's over" is unbelievable. And "Someday" is so cool. I love the EP. (Wednesday 18 March 2026; 12:19)

Glitter at 25: I love it then, I love it now (113,397) by TheButterflyReturns from United States I'm super excited for the 25th anniversary of "Glitter". I remember venturing out on 9/11 to purchase it and having the "Loverboy" CD single cover taped inside of my locker in middle school. I loved that Fox Family documentary about the making of the film and soundtrack. I loved Mariah's campy visits to TRL in the Rainbow and Glitter eras. All of it made my teenage gay boy heart so happy. I was very intrigued to see that both the soundtrack album and the movie have been pulled off from streaming services. This must mean that we are getting deluxe/alternate/unreleased material related to both the soundtrack *and* the movie. I have a feeling that there are going to be some epic surprises in store for us. Mariah was working on "Glitter" basically from 1997-2001, so I can only imagine what is buried in the vault. I got tired of Mariah's image and personality, which is sad to me because I used to live for her interviews. I used to have VHS tapes and I used to tape every interview she did. Now it's the same old, same old - the lighting, the gowns, the unreleased album, the 500 hours of beauty school. I don't know if you know this or not but I write all of my songs. What helped me when I became most negative about Mariah was just listening to the music. I feel like I'm a broken record at times because I say the same things, but as someone who is bipolar and have emotionally struggled for decades - when I listen to a languishing a through the rain a close my eyes I really feel like I have not been singled out for suffering, that this type of pain is common in the human experience. When I listen to a through the rain, an anytime you need a friend a nothing is impossible. I know that my suffering is temporary and whatever light at the end of a very dark tunnel is approaching or whatever goal I want to attain is within grasp and I can go on. I seem to care less about Mariah and more about the music these days and don't get me wrong. I don't want anything bad to happen to Mariah. I had a front row seat to Whitney, Michael and Prince, but what I will say is that loving her as an icon, diva, artist has kind of taken the back row seat on an extended bus and what's up front with me and the driver is the music. Edward (113,380) by Edward from USA Hi Bobby A, I'm good, thanks for asking. I hope you're doing well too. I actually meant to reply to one of your posts the other day but never got around to it. One thing I can tell is that the problem with Mariah is Mariah herself. If she doesn't start presenting herself in a more relatable way, she's basically done in the music business, aside from Christmas of course. The issue isn't really the music. As I was telling Randy, the bigger problem is the image she keeps projecting. The tired old "diva" persona has become repetitive and it feels out of touch with reality. What the new generation see in her is an overproduced, heavily styled diva image that feels distant and unrelatable. The gowns, the restrictive corsets, the layers of makeup, the constant entourage, it creates a wall between her and the audience. At some point she needs to drop the armor and just be more real and accessible. People today connect with authenticity much more than with the old-school diva mystique. If she showed more of the real person instead of the image, a younger audience might actually connect with her. (Thursday 12 March 2026; 21:35)

Healing words (113,370) by Lambi from USA In Mariah's own words, "She said a couple things to me that was very healing for what I needed," in reference to her mom's last words to her. We will never know what Pat uttered to MC, as those are sacred words reserved only for her. But with the amount of love she has shown for her mother, "I want to honor her for giving me the gift of music." We can assume it's a reinvigoration Mariah's never felt before. They say a part of you dies the moment your mother passes. And from personal friends' accounts (I haven't experienced it), it's ringing to be true. They also say that the reverse of it is a need to carry what your mother gave you forward. In Mimi's case, that gift was music. This is a huge contrast from what she once wrote: "My career was everything to me, and because of my mother, my brother, and Tommy Mottola, it was nearly taken away. Honestly, it felt like they almost killed me." (An excerpt from her memoir.) I believe Mariah went right back to being Patricia's light. "You've always been the light of my life." Her last words seemingly lit a fire inside our girl. To witness Mariah's drive during HFIA's rollout was amazing to watch. That is what reconciliation does to a wounded child. She must've been made to feel like the biggest star. It was truly incredible to see an almost 60-year-old reinvigorated about her career and promote a record like she is a debuting artist. Mariah is obviously diseased by the immense trauma that comes with Hollywood, but she is not letting that stop her from honoring what her mother breathed through her as a child: music. She is so obviously proud to be part of Pat's legacy and is doing the absolute most to keep her mama proud. I could cry about it. Mariah's calling prevailed, and the gift of music her mother nurtured in her spirit continues to pour out into the world. Forget what Pat did wrong and forget the numbers. Ultimately the gift of God won and we are all so unbelievably blessed by it. I am honestly just so thankful at this point and what ever comes next for MC, I will be here for it all. I miss hearing MC sing from her heart and not thinking about being a diva. Nostradamus reported Jack Antonoff or Soundz and Kuk Harrell were in the studio as well. Something has clicked with MC that a high profile collaboration is her only way back to the top of the Hot 100. Also, Kuk Harrell knows how to make a female singers' vocals shine on a song. Type Dangerous and why it failed (113,314) by Bobby A from United States Type Dangerous' intro beat is sick with a clever hip hop sample. However, the beat for the lyrics and chorus is underwhelming. The minimalist production for the sassier lyrics take center stage and that was a bad production choice. I have to say Type Dangerous is MC's weakest first single ever. I had a dream (113,295) by Giovanni from USA Haha that is probably the best dream you've ever had Bobby, and I love your name by the way. Are you sure it was a dream and not your imagination/fantasy? In another universe that would happen but I'm not gonna hold my breath. I do believe Mariah has it in her to have another hit song, record and Grammy win. I'm still not over the Academy robbing her for AOTY in '06. I do feel Mariah has something planned for her next album though. Most of us love HFIA but feel it didn't make any noise. I love "In your feelings" and it hit number one on the r&b chart so that should count for something. She collaborates again with Walter A., Babyface, JD, Skillrex, and some top producers and songwriters of the last 10 years. 3. Critics rave that MC's voice is back. Some say her Butterfly tone is back to stay. Her whistle range is "Emotions" strong again. 4. The first single makes it to number one in less than 5 weeks. 5. Many Lambs say the Bruno Mars, Sza, Toni Braxton, and Fred Again collaborations are their favorites. 6. MC embarks on a 30-city summer/fall tour in the U.S. The first show is at Proctors Theater. The last show is at Madison Square Garden. 7. The second single is a Pop R&B ballad collaboration with Walter A. and Babyface that is reminisce of Love Takes Time and Everytime I Close my Eyes. 8. One year later after the release of a deluxe version, eight Grammy nominations, numerous of television performances, a Rock and Hall of Fame Inductee, and the 2029 Superbowl Half-time show performer, MC finally wins multiple Grammy awards including Album of the Year and Record of the Year at the Grammys. 9. If we throw in Sean Combs, Brett Ratner and Naomi Campbell, also associates with MC, we get a clearer sense of how patterns from her morally perverted upbringing seem to have impacted her capacity to make sound choices as an adult.
