I find myself thinking about what if MC launches MC17 this way or that way. I just don't want MC to become strictly an Urban AC artist like Mary J. Blige has become. Looking at the sales of her last two albums, there simply aren't enough of us to make a meaningful dent in her overall streaming numbers. The reality is that 90% of the people streaming AIWFCIY are fans of the song, not Lambs. I applaud you for always being positive, but sometimes you need to be realistic. Mariah just isn't that popular anymore, and on top of that, she's become largely unrelatable to the general public. We need to stop blaming Gamma and other external factors for the lack of success of her recent projects. Outside of what's left of her core fanbase, the general public doesn't seem particularly interested in what she has to offer. Her music has also started to feel stagnant, and she seems increasingly reluctant to take a genuine leap of faith and try something completely new. Mariah once had the Midas touch that Taylor Swift has now, and that's well and good. But if she wants to be commercially successful again, she needs to find a way to connect with a new generation, reinvent herself musically, and deliver something genuinely fresh. HFIA has some gems that could have been hits in the hands of Ariana or Taylor, it's not only about the music but also the artist. So no, I don't think streaming campaigns alone are going to solve the problem. The problem is not the wrong singles, a lack of promotion, but simply a public that no longer cares enough to tune in, there's only so much fans can do. We can stream until we're blue in the face, but we can't manufacture public interest. At some point, Mariah and her team need to give people a compelling reason to care again. Lambs have to start new streaming campaigns in 2027 by choosing songs from MC's 2000s catalogue to focus on each month until MC17's first single is released. MC and .gamma should consider a streaming only release for the first three months and then drop the physical cd and vinyl three months later. During the initial streaming only release, MC could rely on a corporate streaming integration such as Coach X Spotify Tabby Tour activation to push her presence onto active user playlists like "On Repeat". Here For It All (114,629) by Jamie from UK I've really connected to Here For It All again recently. I've just been through a really difficult time with depression and anxiety, the worst I've had since it started 30 years ago. Listening to the lyrics in this track have resonated with me on another level and given me hope. I'm now back home after living with my mum for a month and getting back on track. I'm hoping to return to work soon as been off since June. Mariah's music always brings me joy and I've been listening to her a lot recently. After surviving a gruesome fall I feel the clouds are now lifting. I'm looking forward to the Glitter release although she needs to hurry up as I'm getting impatient. Whilst I have contributed as much on here this year I still love to come on daily and read people's posts, it's great to have this sense of community around the person we all love (Saturday 3 October 2026; 11:31)

I have been listening to a lot of contemporary jazz this evening because of it. I believe a jazz collaboration with Michael League and his band, Snarky Puppy could lead to multiple Grammy nominations and wins. MC needs a unique collaboration in 2027. It's interesting how it took a long time for songs to break the 13 week record set by Elvis. Then MC came with the 16 week record. Took awhile for Despacito to come along and tie it but now it seems like every few years we have another contender reaching the near 20 week mark. In a time of low attention spans, I don't think Billboard is calculating the most popular song in the country anymore. I'd never heard of the song until last week. I made myself listen to it. Glitter 25 roll out (114,567) by BFF from US I like the remix of "All My Life", but I still much prefer the original version. The remix lacks the joy, effervescence, and looseness of the original. I appreciate that Mariah worked with some current artists to update some of the songs, but I hope they don't occupy too much real estate on the deluxe edition of the album. Hopefully, she also devoted some space to unreleased songs from the original "Glitter" recording sessions. We already know that "Loverboy" (Firecracker Original), "Out Here on My Own", and "Never Too Far/Hero" will be on there. And there will surely be at least one or two live performances (probably "Reflections" from Home For the Holidays, one of "NTF/Hero", and maybe even one of "Last Night a DJ Saved My Life") alongside a handful of the house mixes of "Loverboy" and "Never Too Far/Hero". I even enjoyed the video. Is is a wow song? No. But compared to all the latest garbage on the charts it's a wonderful, nice song that gives you a good mood while listening. This woman and Olivia Dean makes me hopeful that the time of only vulgar music and videos in the charts are over or at least are not the only way to get a hit nowadays. Clown vs. Obsessed (114,532) by karel from belgie Clown and Obsessed may both deal with a man whom Mariah believes has an inflated sense of himself and uses her name for attention, but the way she approaches that subject in each song is completely different. In Clown, she takes a more psychological approach. Rather than launching a direct attack, she tries to understand why this person behaves the way he does, suggesting that his arrogance is really a cover for insecurity. The title itself is telling. She doesn't portray him as an enemy, but as a clown, someone who ultimately makes a fool of himself. One of the things I love about the song is how she exposes him without ever sounding bitter or vindictive. She paints a picture of someone trying hard to appear important and intimidating, while making it clear that she sees right through the act. As a result, the song feels mature, intelligent, and quietly devastating. She doesn't sound angry. She sounds disappointed and mildly amused, which makes the criticism hit even harder. Obsessed, on the other hand, takes the exact opposite approach. The entire song revolves around the idea that this person is supposedly obsessed with her. The hook repeats that message over and over, and the mockery is much more obvious. Where Clown allows the listener to draw their own conclusions, Obsessed practically spells everything out for them. Musically, the contrast is just as striking. Clown is built around a smooth, understated R&B production that leaves plenty of room for the lyrics and the vocals. The focus is on what she's saying. Obsessed shifts the attention toward the beat, the catchy chorus, and the playful attitude. It's constructed as a major pop single, whereas Clown feels more like a personal statement. What I find particularly interesting is how much Clown relies on irony. Mariah never has to outright tell the listener that this man is pathetic. You figure that out on your own through the way she describes him. In Obsessed, the judgment is much more direct and explicit. Because of that, the songwriting feels less sophisticated and more like a reaction in the heat of the moment. Even vocally, the difference is significant. On Clown, Mariah uses a warm, controlled, and mature vocal performance. She sounds confident because she has nothing to prove. On Obsessed, the vocals become part of the attitude and humor of the track. The production effects and heavily processed sound fit the song's playful tone, but they also distract from what was once her greatest strength: her ability to carry a song through pure vocal expression. "Clown" is Mariah dissecting her opponent with subtlety, observation, and intelligence. "Obsessed" is Mariah publicly mocking that same opponent through a catchy pop hit. Or, to put it even more bluntly: "Clown" lets the listener discover why the man is a clown. "Obsessed" simply shouts it from the rooftops. I could easily see her releasing two or three albums over the next seven years. Beyond that, though, I just don't see her recording into her 80s like Barbra Streisand. Here For It All one year later (114,502) by Bill from the UK I do agree in part. The creativity is definitely still there, and I don't think she'll ever lose that element of her talent. But, the delivery of these wonderful songs is just not good. It's like designing a Ferrari but sticking a Nissan engine inside. The two most recent albums have all the hallmarks of being great, with a few exceptions, but her inability to sing anymore means that they don't, and can't, go anywhere. When I put The Rarities into the CD player and heard that rich, vibrant, pitch perfect "let me tell you something baby" I just wept tears of joy and sadness. Her voice was so amazing, and whilst I was ecstatic to hear it again in something new, my heart broke as the further through the album you got, all it did was chronicle her vocal decline. So yes, respectfully we disagree. I'd rather have a whole album of demos from 1989 over another Caution of HFIA. (Saturday 29 August 2026; 12:45)

Here For It Alll is the first Mariah Carey album to have multiple covers for the physical editions. 6. It is the first Mariah Carey album that faded away the quickest in terms of low album sales and streams after 3 months of its release. Here For It All one year later (114,491) by Randy from USA Still great. I'm pissed at the ageism in music. I think Nothing Is Impossible, In Your Feelings and I Won't Allow It could be hits to the masses. My Love has grown on me, although the Whoa Whoa Whoa Whoa sounds silly and child band of the 70s to me. I still love this album more than Caution with its burdensome second half or the frosted garbage known as MIAMTEC. But when you have so many almost flawless albums Butterfly, Daydream, Rainbow, Memoirs, Music Box, and Mariah Carey, Here For It All is sort of middle of the pack. I think Mariah needs to relearn first single etiquette. Because after Oh Santa, I haven't agreed with any of the first singles. MIAMTEC had three. And all of them were boring in my opinion. YDKWTD would've been a winner. Caution should have had A No No first. Same video and paid Cardi and Lil Kim whatever they wanted to be involved. However, I do like GTFO and with the right trend on TikTok, I could see that going to #1. But Type Dangerous and Sugar Sweet were as boring as watching Martha Stewart tie knots at the end of an area rug. (Thursday 27 August 2026; 20:40)
