Maybe it is too simple for some. That's cool. I don't think there is anything lacking with the lyrics. It's perfect for the purpose the song is written for. It isn't quite the same when something is written for a project that is not just your brand. I kinda like that she went for something more stripped down. It makes the song more about the message and I think it is ok that she doesn't always go for the difficulty. Just my .02 cents. Lol. (Thursday 14 December 2017; 19:22)

You'll never convince me that some of the stuff posted in the last few years was because it's what Mariah wanted deep down. Regardless of whether she wins or not, I'm just elated to see her involved with projects that actually have meaning to her, not because of pressure to live up to some standard of something. I still play the ones that came with both Christmas albums and I miss concert and behind the scenes stuff being released. I guess I'm old school. I have every concert she's released. If something someone says on here triggers something for me. I see that as a chance to look inside and see what meaning. I am giving what is said. Others are not responsible for my peace I am responsible for that. Andrew can say anything and the only thing I am responsible for is how I respond to it and whether or not I let it wreck my day. Don't misunderstand I am no way saying an unloving disrespectful behavior is Ok, it isn't ok. There ate lots of things said here on a daily basis that break Eric's rules. People's beliefs are a reflection of what goes on for them a need that is not being met and a deep call to experience acceptance and love. Not sure an outright ban would actually fix anything it might seem to until the next to come along and influence the boat, but I can aso see the position Eric is in. Bottom line Andrew is not responsible nor does he control how I see Mariah. I will not adopt racist or unloving behavior when it is posted here and Andrew is not responsible for my enjoyment of the board. No one poster here is except for me. I just think an album as iconic as Butterfly deserves more than a picture disc for the 20th anniversary. Bonus tracks, Mariah commentary on the making of the album 20 years later. concert footage, Mariah talking about the impact of the album on her audience. The possibilities are endless, but it's like Team Mariah always choose to put forth the smallest amount of effort. It gets tiresome. Mariah is a legend, and you can't put forth a little actual work? Maybe when the album turns 50 or God forbid when Mariah leaves the planet. Sigh. (Monday 2 October 2017; 19:51)

It's an investing dynamic how some artists seem more well known than others. Her tone is unmistakable, you know it's her always. Sia is that way too. No one is saying you have to like it if you truly don't, or that you can't have an opinion. It just comes off like nothing matters but a completion for a record. If [Boyz] II Men can respond with respect, then so can the fans. I just think it is a shame not to embrace success with grace and I am sure people who were not Mariah fans as I am had grown tired of OSD.
