Babyface (92,434)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
I am sure hoping MC reaches out to Babyface this year for collaboration. They wrote such beautiful songs together. Never Forget You was just classic Babyface at the height of his songwriting career. Two years later he gave the world some of his best work on the Waiting To Exhale soundtrack. Melt Away always left me wanting to hear more on Daydream. Every Time I Close My Eyes was a perfect gem that showcased his impeccable songwriting skills and MC's immpecable vocal arrangements. Who else wants another Babyface collaboration?

Re: The memoir (92,295) (92,304)

My real concern is promoting the book without a new album to go along with it. If there is no new album to talk about and how parts of the book are reflected in the new album, then the book will quietly fade away the next week after its release. MC and her team must have a promotional tour modeled after Michelle Obama's book promotional tour. It was a huge success for her. A morning talk show and late night promotional tour would ensure the book promotional tour a major success. I hope MC writes companion songs for Vision of Love, Hero, and Love Takes Time to bring her earlier chart success back into the forefront. Only time will tell how serious she becomes about studio time after the Vegas shows. If she focuses, she can record a new album in 6 months. March through August will be pretty interesting to see what she can do in the studio. I feel she was in the studio last night with a new male producer. She had been too quiet this month. Lol.

2020 is the year that artists are changing sound (92,285)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
So many artists are going to be giving fans something new with their music this year. Justin Beiber is going more R&B. Adele is going to release her most personal album to date with possible features from Drake and Harry Styles. Dua Lipa is going to incorporate disco and pop. Sza has a crazy song with Justin Timberlake and other high profile features. Rihanna is going to release a double album - one reggae and one pop album. Sam Smith is going to give us more songs like How Do You Sleep by Ilya and Savan Kotecha. Brandy and Monica are going back to their 90's sound for their new albums. Usher is going to give us some old school Usher vibe by working with producers that he first worked with in the beginning. Alicia Keys just released an Ed Sherran co-written neo-soul jam called Underdog. She has been giving fans a neo-soul sound since last year's Show Me Love. So, MC is going to have to reach deep in her creativity bag to bring us something fresh and new because other artists are going to be hot this year on the charts. I am saying now that we will see a flood of March/May/April new song and album releases. I hope MC is working on a plan for her next masterpiece. Ed Sherran call up MC please.

Going to be an interesting 2020 (92,281)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
We have a lot of burning questions about how this new decade is going to turn out for Mariah. Will "I Had A Vision Of Love" be well written and truthful? Will MC work with new producers and songwriters like Ed Sherran, Ryan Tedder, LondonOnDaTrack, Ilya, Savan Kotecha, Drumma Boy, Tim and Bob, A1, Max Martin, and Harmony Samuels, and Darryl "DJ" Camper who can capture her 1990's magic? Will MC release a hot single that will give her biggest Hot 100 hit since Obsessed? Will MC release an album that takes Lambs back to Daydream and Butterfly? I guess we will know that she is in full recording mode when she post that first studio pic.

MC needs hot 90's rnb sample (92,246)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
Summer Walker's Come Thru is brilliant. It samples Usher's You Me Make Wanna. The song even features Usher. Check out the hot video with a JD cameo. This is the type of song MC needs to put out of the radio. Some 90's Rnb sample from SWV or JD produced song would assure MC radio airplay. I would like to see MC sample Usher's Nice and Slow. That would be a brilliant sample from a female perspective. Oh, well she has been really quiet this week. Maybe she has already been in the studio with some hot new producer. She better bring it this time with something hot to compete with female singers this year.

Yummy vs. One Mo Gen (92,222)

Is it just me but the underlying melody of Yummy sounds like One Mo Gen. It was co written by Poo Bear. Radio is playing it like crazy.

If she does come out with a new album in 2020 competition for radio airplay and album sales are going to be more than in 2019. Sza, Justin Beiber, Rihanna, Selena Gomez, Frank Ocean, Dua Lipa, Max, Kesha, Brandy, Beyonce, Monica, Sam Smith, Normani, Ariana Grande and many more are dropping new albums this year.
I forgot that Adele is dropping a new album this year too. 2020 is going to be hot for new music.

All My Life (92,070)

First, this song is so fresh in 2020. Second, I didn't realize how much Rick James and MC are flirting with each other on this song. It is hilarious. Who in 2020 can write her another song and she accept it to record this year? Maybe Ed Sherran, Chris Brown, Ne-Yo, ThankGod4Cody (Sza) or Disclosure.

Hopefully new music soon (92,064)
by Bobby A from United States
| |

I hope Melissa has said to MC that she has to put new music out after Vegas run. So, MC has all the month of January to record two hot uptempo songs that could be released while she records the rest of the album from March to July. MC has to be motivated to put new music out in 2020 since she had a fantastic Christmas back at number #1.

15th Anniversary of The Emancipation Of Mimi (91,980)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
It hard to believe that it will be 15 years since TEOM was released. In my opinion, I believe the way L.A. Reid guided MC with the recording and roll-out of TEOM was extraordinary. Her next album should have the same roll-out. I really feel she should revisit the musical elements that gave TEOM such a party album feel with candid and witty lyrics. The live instrumentation gave the album such a organic feel. I hope she records again with Scott Storch and James Poyser. I would love for Darryl "DJ" Camper and Jasmine Sullivan to write four songs with MC. Pharrell would add a special touch with his recognizable beats and melody. 2020 will be the year for new albums and Mariah should work hard to deliver TEOM Revisted.

I believe she has gotten the message. I expect a much different Mariah on her next album with more high profile collaborators. We have been wanting a Beyonce, Drake, Bruno Mars, or Ariana collaboration, but the time wasn't right until now. 2019 ended on a high note for Mimi. She has to keep the momentum going with new music that takes us back to 1995 Mariah. I am already excited for 2020.

Scott Storch could give MC an uptempo song. I always felt that she should have done more with him. His latest production with Chris Brown is amazing. Whatever happens who ever she works with for the new album is going to be even more interesting than Caution. I wouldn't be surprise if JD/BMC and Johnta Austin work with her in 2020. I always felt Caution lacked that JD bounce.

I really hope she is talking about Ed Sherran and David Guetta. They both are interesting for having the ability to write and produce catchy pop songs. Hopefully, MC will be in the studio the first six months of the year and release a new album in October.

Which three eras were turning points (91,897)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
I was just thinking about the three eras in MC's in career that were turning points in her career that led to a more focused Mariah Carey on her next album 1. Rainbow - Basically she was like I am done with Sony. 2. Glitter - She returned stronger on Charmbracelet. 3. Me I Am Mariah - She was so done with Def Jam. The weird album title and lack of promotion said it all. After a long break she delivered the Caution.

Who hasn't MC collaborated / revisit previous collab (91,884)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
Pop and Oak Jasmine Sullivan Ryan Tedder Max Martin Greg Kurstin London On Da Track Victoria Monet Social House-(Ariana Grande) A1(Chris Brown) Zedd Disclosure Boi 1da Noah "40" Shebib Justin Timberlake
I really feel she will be digging deeper with this next album. This may be her last chance at #1 album. She should revisit producers like Pharrell, No Detail, Nineteen 85, Mike Will Made It, Timbaland, Scott Storch, Darryl "DJ" Camper, and for the nostalgia - Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. A major artist like Mariah can't have four low performing albums in row and still remain on a major label. I bet we won't get another album with just 10 songs again. An album with just 10 songs was just not Mariah. I am sure we will get a Drake feature on the next album. And whatever happened to that Bobby Ross Avila song that he kept his son in the studio until the early hours in the morning? I am sure he wasn't too happy his song didn't make Caution.

New albums in 2020 (91,877)
by Bobby A from United States

I thought new album releases in 2019 were few and boring. So in 2020 we can look forward to Justin Beiber, Selena Gomez, Adele, Rihanna, Sza, Drake, Frank Ocean, Monica, Daley, Maxwell, Brandy, Sam Smith, Normani, Brett Young, Usher, and Justin Timberlake. I know I am missing some others.

Hoping for work on new album in 2020 (91,835)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
I am really hoping that MC begins work on a new album in 2020. She should focus on an album with just two high profile producers from the R&B world and the other from Pop world. Maybe Atlanta high profile producer London On The Track, Ryan Tedder and Dev Hynes can do it. She should collaborate with Jazmine Sullivan, Poo Bear and Sevyn Streeter. They can keep her current creative energy moving in the right direction. Poo Bear is such a great songwriter for a melody with twist. One Mo Gen was brilliant. I would like to see her give us another Butterfly. Another Butterfly album would be the perfect complement to a Caution follow-up.
