Running around in circles over Mimi (51,323) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Oh golly. An "enabler vs fair weather lamb" argument. Isn't that such a new topic? Not. This is probably the most repetitive argument on this board. (Thursday 2 April 2015; 22:11)

Weight issue (51,293) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Mariah doesn't look overweight really. She's a curvy girl and I'd rather have that over the anorexic ones we see. Plus her main instrument is her voice not her body. Even then, her body is pretty good. It's a wetsuit guys. She's dripping wet, the material is stuck to her. Most people look bad in wetsuits. I just saw a picture of her with Irina Shaikh or whatever her name is and she looks great there. She's probably the same weight she was when she was at Ellen's, it just that she has gone make up free in the past few days, so her face looks a little (little being the key word) big and the camera angles are not helping either. A bit of bronzer and nice curls will bring it back to its original look and as for clothes, as long as she sticks to clothes that fit her, she'll be fine. She looks great for her age. I'd be lucky if I look half as good as her at her age. I agree with whoever said that Mariah really has never been extremely heavy. She gets a little bloated every now and then but that's quite normal. Irregular sleep can do that too. Other than that, she's gorgeos as ever. I do however feel her breasts make her look bigger than she is, because she usually has a small waist but the boobs become over powering and gives the illusion of a heavier body. Promotions (51,270) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I'm a little worried about the promotions. I mean yes, there was the carpool video and there was the Ellen appearance, but that won't cut it. These two appearances were months apart and no one has that big an attention span (especially non fans or casual fans) that they'll remember what she said back on Ellen's show. It's April now and apparently the album will drop on May 2nd and the residency starts on May 6th. I didn't see any appearance of Mariah scheduled yet. I'm getting a little worried because it feels like MIAM deja vu again. I hope I am wrong and that she does have plenty of appearances lined up, but the promos should have started by well... yesterday. (Wednesday 1 April 2015; 2:12)

MC and Brett (51,257) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Guys lets just end this once and for all. Brett has denied it, B Scott has denied it, TMZ found pictures of Brett kissing another woman on the yacht, so we can safely say that they are not dating. Moreover like I sadi before, Brett has said before that MC is like a sister to him. Done. (Tuesday 31 March 2015; 14:56)

Infact if you re-read my posts, you will see I was one of the people who was defending her skit from the start. I also mentioned that I am glad she sat back and let James Cordon get the spotlight instead of trying to show off her voice. Just saying. Bottom line, I have maintained that Mariah's vocal talents should not be judged based on a skit that is supposed to be funny. (Tuesday 31 March 2015; 14:53)

Mariah and Brett (51,236) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I don't think it's a good idea. First and foremost, didn't Brett say before that MC is like a sister to him? Come on guys. Secondly (sorry Jon, I have to disagree) I don't think moving on so fast is a good thing. Getting over an ex fast is good, but moving on so fast, especially on to someone you have been so close to for years, in my opinion is bad, because one might confuse comfort for love. As in they might be vulnerable and might feel they are falling in love with the person who is comforting them at that moment. Thirdly I love Brett and he is really talented but I think MC needs to be with someone on her same level if not a little above her. Fourthly and I am regretting saying this and I hope people don't call me out for it but really Brett is looking pretty bad lately. What's up with the homeless look? You are a rich director. Fifth and most importantly, I wouldn't want Mariah to date a really close friend. There are many ways it might not last in the long run and that might cause a rift between the friendship these two individuals value so dearly. (Monday 30 March 2015; 1:47)

Music videos (51,225) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter The videos started going downhill right after Obsessed. IWTKWLI wasn't that bad but the setting could have been better. The effects were a little sloppy but I liked the message they tried to portray with it. By the time H.A.T.E.U. came around, it looked like the label didn't give her any money, so all she had left was walking around a beach. Then came Angel's Cry, and although the video is quite cute and nice, it clearly shows that again little to no budget was given for the video, so MC had to go down the road of takes of her in the studio and cut-scenes to her in a back alley. (I'd like to add that even on a small budget they did a good job on the AC video.) Next came UOOMF. This again was a very cute and fun video and I really enjoy it, even now. This video (although some claimed look like a target commercial, which it did at times) atleast had some level of production to it. I mean there was actually a set, they were given multiple scenes with multiple settings (instead of just walking around). I'm not sure but it may be due to Nicki's inclusion in the video meant her label also contributed a portion in the video (again I don't know if that's how it works but in the show Empire they show that if another artist is featured in a video, the label of the artist adds to the budget of the video). But still Nicki was just a newcomer so obviously the budget wasn't big. When Triumphant came about, I think the label thought that it's a new era and the first single needs to be of good quality. So the video was good. It's one of my favorites. It's all glitz and glam. But unfortunately the song flopped and the label at this point probably lost faith in Mariah because after Obsessed, her chart positions were not up to Mariah's level and so they almost gave up on her, hence #Beautiful had a bad video. Big mistake on the label's part. The song was fire and could have earned them a lot of money. Anyways, the rest is history I guess. That's my take on it. These are obviously not facts, but just my observations and what I think happened. I hope that now that she's back to Sony, she'll get a better team and budget. (Sunday 29 March 2015; 14:25)

Few other points about the carpool karaoke (51,224) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I really find it funny that people think the host sang MC's songs better than her in the skit. If that's true then I'm the next Mariah (move over Ariana) lol because I think I can sing those at least on the same level if not better than James. It's karaoke come on, it's no supposed to sound like a stage performance. So yes, back to my point, I am glad MC took a back seat and let the host have a blast getting his Mariah moment on because that's what made the skit funny. Him knowing all the words was cute. Mariah played the role of a background/supporting singer. If she would sit there belting, a) it would not be funny b) there would be some smarta** calling her out for showing off in a karaoke skit. I can't get over the cute dance they pulled for "Thirsty", she looked so cute, I wanted to hug her lol. I also found it cute that at the end when the host asked if she can get home on her own, she said that she'll see if she can hitchhike a ride or something like that instead of saying "Dahlin' I have my A+mazing decked out limo waiting." From what I saw the skit gained her some positive feedback. I am betting this is part of the image damage control by her management and I am content with it. (Sunday 29 March 2015; 14:05)

Carpool karaoke (51,214) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I thought it was really cute and funny. I was smiling throughout and I thought MC looked extremely cute when she pulled the small dance move. As for her singing let's not blow this out of proportions, the main point of the show was to be funny not showcase Mariah's vocal prowess. We all have been wanting to see MC more relaxed and less diva and that's what we are getting somewhat. I wouldn't go so far as to say judge her vocal ability based on this skit. She probably didn't even try to hit proper note there because it was just a fun skit and she allowed the host to take the spotlight. I said this before, I think MC knows very well about the condition of her voice and career. She's trying, or at least I think she is. She's working to make this year big. While Epic and her management still needs to work on a massive image damage control, I like to believe that she'll get there soon. As for now I am super excited about the new single and the pow video. I am also excited about the Christmas project but that won't surface until the end of the year so I am eagerly waiting for the new single. (Sunday 29 March 2015; 1:49)

As for MC's hand, yes we need it to be ready by the time the curtains go up at Vegas. May (51,207) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I think the main reason for H.A.T.E.U. being such a lackluster video was probably because the record label was not paying enough money required to produce a better video. So they (MC and Brett) probably worked with whatever they had. H.A.T.E.U. was the third single and by then the label probably saw that the album will eventually not reach their expected outcome so they probably just decided to give a very small budget for this song. Other than that all the other videos Brett directed (with the exception of TGIFY) were brilliant. Even Obsessed, which seemed to have been done on a comparatively smaller budget was a really good and cute video. So I do hope that Epic gives MC the budget she deserves. I think they did give her that judging by Brett and MC's confident statement when they said the new video for the new song will blow your mind away. (Saturday 28 March 2015; 19:33)

MC and Brett (51,200) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Oh my gosh. Did you guys hear the radio call? MC and Brett made a surprise call to a radio station. They revealed that they are shooting a movie together based on her biggest Christmas song and also her next video of her next single which will apparently "blow your minds". I am so excited. I have been wanting a Brett-MC collaboration for so long. They have been meeting up so many times, something just had to be cooking between the two. I can't wait to see what they come up with. There were many a times when I wrote something and pressed submit and then I was like oh no, should I have written that? But I am glad you understood my point, infact you got it exactly right because I was thinking about MJ when I wrote that post and that's why I included the part about the posthumous album. I hate that they keep milking his name every chance they get and knowing the perfectionist that MJ was, it bothers me more. I am a huge MJ fan and like MC, I somehow feel really connected to MJ so it bothers me when I think something is unfair in their cases. I don't know much about Whitney but she was a legend and I am sure not much different from MC and MJ when it came to her artistry so I would assume she wouldn't appreciate it. As for your other suggestion about her bringing back some of her iconic moments, I would love that. Due to time constraints it might not be possible to do all her looks, infact it's quite impossible. So she can break down her eras into 4 parts and choose 1 hair for each part. Shelly had a wonderful post about the breakdown of the styles in one post. It was really good. Since Mariah's hair changes with almost every era, she could have wigs for a couple of eras and bring on some of the iconic costumes. Anyways, that's just a thought. I however do not like the idea of having a Whitney hologram for a "Mariah Carey #1's" concert. It can go wrong in many way. 1) With Whitney passing away just recently and Bobbi Kristina's latest tragedy, MC might be slammed for using Whitney's likeness and people might take it in the wrong way thinking MC is using Whitney to create buzz. 2) It is a show about her #1's and I am sure she already has a huge set list. If she really picks songs apart from her #1's, I'd rather have her pick some fan favorites and as much as WYB is great, there are other tracks fans love more. 3) Whitney's likeness should only be used when the concert is a tribute to Whitney, this is Mariah's 25 years being celebrated. There are so many other reasons, so no, just no to the hologram please. 4) I never liked the idea of using dead artist's holograms. I don't know, it's just corny and a little cheap. The artist is not alive to have a say regarding this and so it's unfair to them. Same with posthumus albums. If the artist didn't feel like the songs were not ready to be released or perhaps not up to the mark in their POV, then it shouldn't be released. Just saying. That's my opinion. Another Christmas album? (51,041) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter There is a rumor circulating that Epic wants Mariah to record another Christmas record after the release of #1's but it also says that Mariah has not agreed to it yet. I hope that MC doesn't plan on another Christmas album. She already has 2. Three holiday albums is a bit too much. Plus if Mariah really wants to record another album this year, it should be a comeback commercial album. After the unfortunate failure of Memoirs and MIAM, MC needs to shake off the bad streak and plan an album that will put her back to where she belongs - the top. Now isn't the time for a Christmas album and she just released one 4 years back. Anyways it's just a rumor so nothing serious I guess. (Thursday 19 March 2015; 8:00)

She just hates Mariah because MC probably declined coming to her show. I used to think that MC should go Wendy because in the episodes I watched a few years back, she used to always praise Mariah. But now I am glad Mariah doesn't pay her any attention. Wendy has many a times bad mouthed about people and then changed tunes while they are on the show and then go back to bad mouthing after a while. She used to always make fun of JLo but now all of a sudden JLo is her favourite and every Mariah topic is compared with JLo. She keeps saying MC is "ticky ticky boom" in the head and what not, well Wendy what have you achieved so far? She keeps going on about how trashy the Kardashians are, when they're not collectively as trashy as her. She is so obsessed with MC that she even made up the story that she declined MC as a guest because she wanted to sit on the side Wendy sits. As if she would risk say no to the woman she keeps talking about almost every other episode. Two words to Wendy: "Bye Felicia". (Thursday 19 March 2015; 7:33)

I realized I was stupid haha, I didn't know that "the all seeing eye" (which I always knew was the symbol of the illuminati" was the same as the "eye of Horus". Anyways I don't know if it's true if MC actually thought that was the last means of reviving her career, but I hope not. I can disregard the suspicious jewellery choice of the woman as being a wannabe illuminati freak who wants to look edgy, however I do find it weird that MC is not seen with her usual entourage. While people who have repeatedly been associated with the illuminati are the ones at the top now (Beyonce, Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry), I wouldn't want MC to go down that path. I don't know if it makes me stupid, but I don't know much about the meaning of the Eye of Horus, so could you explain if you have time? As for the lady, it does strike me as weird. I mean MC has always been accompanied by that handsome black bodyguard (I forgot his name) and in most cases she had RaeRae with her. But in her last two outings it was only this woman. And both times she is getting into that red sports car. I wonder what is up? If it's a strict manager and MC is listening to her, it's ok I guess, but I sure hope it's not something to do with the dark side of the industry. I just want MC happy and healthy. I haven't even been posting for that long although I have been visiting this site for years. I love this forum though. I got into many arguments here, but I see everyone on this board love Mariah in their own unique ways and I like hearing and discussing MC related stuff with you all. It's the only place where I can discuss MC and expect people to know what I am talking about because in my country people don't know MC that much. Thank you Webmaster for being so patient with all of us and taking the time to keep this site updated daily. Shelly, girl, you are such a sweetheart and your presence will be missed dearly. I hope you can pop by once in a while but I understand your problem and life comes first. So wishing you all the best and I can't wait for your next post.
