About Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter:

Orkun (51,006) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Haha thanks buddy, you are too kind. "Tying with the Beatles" really got me chuckling. Seeing the number of my posts, I was like oh my, did I actually write so many? But I guess when it comes to Mariah, I just have a lot to say. I am glad you enjoy reading them, and I enjoy reading yours.

The Truth (51,005) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Your post got me intrigued. Can you please elaborate? I don't know if it makes me stupid, but I don't know much about the meaning of the Eye of Horus, so could you explain if you have time? As for the lady, it does strike me as weird. I mean MC has always been accompanied by that handsome black bodyguard (I forgot his name) and in most cases she had RaeRae with her. But in her last two outings it was only this woman. And both times she is getting into that red sports car. I wonder what is up? If it's a strict manager and MC is listening to her, it's ok I guess, but I sure hope it's not something to do with the dark side of the industry. I just want MC happy and healthy.

Most frequent posters / Shelly (50,991) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Oh wow, I didn't realize I wrote so many posts haha. I haven't even been posting for that long although I have been visiting this site for years. I love this forum though. I got into many arguments here, but I see everyone on this board love Mariah in their own unique ways and I like hearing and discussing MC related stuff with you all. It's the only place where I can discuss MC and expect people to know what I am talking about because in my country people don't know MC that much. Thank you Webmaster for being so patient with all of us and taking the time to keep this site updated daily. Shelly, girl, you are such a sweetheart and your presence will be missed dearly. I hope you can pop by once in a while but I understand your problem and life comes first. So wishing you all the best and I can't wait for your next post. You are one of those lambs who admire MC dearly and yet have a clear mind when it comes to her flaws. I really enjoy your posts.

Correction (50,966) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I meant "great" and not "creative" in my last post. As in Mariah looked great in that black dress.

The woman with Mariah (50,958) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I wonder who she is. She has been pictured with her twice now. I have never seen her around MC before. Anyways, can we take a moment and acknowledge how creative MC looks in that little black dress (the one she wore to Dan Tana's). Her chest is completely covered, she's not in a gown, she looks so cute.

Mail Online (50,955) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Wow, Mail Online is suddenly being nice to Mariah. They usually always post negative things about her, even when there is nothing negative to post.

Luke (50,949) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I think she has some marks left from the accident. Someone pointed out that in of the pictures she tweeted months back of her, Nick and Dembabies, her hand was exposed and it had marks on it so maybe she hides it with the gloves.

I agree with you. I mean we have all been asking her to drop the lip syncing and sing live and she did that. It wasn't the best, but it was certainly not the worst. I think she did a pretty good job, especially considering the fact that some people were saying she can't sing one line live anymore. She did what we wanted, she went live this time. So give her a break. Plus this was not a major concert so chances are that she didn't really warm up much for this. Let's not judge her preparations for Vegas based on this informal performance of hers. She was mainly there to show her support for a cause she believes in. Secondly I am just glad that for a change when you type "Mariah Carey" in Google news this time around, there are positive articles about her performance. Which is something new because usually right after her performances the negative articles and flood the internet search results.

HRC gala (50,889) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I think Mariah looked great, I loved the hair, the makeup looked good. She really didn't look 44, more like 35. However, I did not like the dress. I think it was not flattering on her, but oh well, she looked great overall. Good to see her back. I enjoyed the performance. She changed up the song to suit her current state and that's a really good thing instead of trying to make it sound like the original or lipping. Shows she still can slay her older hits with a bit of modification. As for the stage set, I don't think MC or her team can be blamed for that. It wasn't her show that she or her team will have control over the outlook. The stage was made as it is for the gala and she was just there as a performer and supporter, so I don't think it's fair to blame team Mariah on that. Plus for a song like Hero, there is nothing flashy that can be incorporated on stage, except for the piano. One can't expect dancers in this song. Anyways, I am glad to see her back in form somewhat. I hope to see more of her as her Vegas gig gets nearer.

Dropping hints in advance (50,865) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I agree with the person who posted that Mariah sometimes drops hints in advance, like about the collaboration with Miguel. The hint that she was moving to Epic was dropped years back, way before MIAM released and even before the original release date of TAOLG. It was a twitter conversation between MC and LA Reid, where LA Reid wrote something about something being "epic" and Mariah tweeted back with (again I can't remember exactly what she said) and it also had the keyword "epic". So ya, Idina may be a hint, I don't know. But I am excited to hear re-sung and duet versions of her #1's, and hopefully a few album cuts.

Walter (50,787) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I too am not really bothered about MC not working with Walter. I mean I get it, she co-wrote some of her best work with him, but she did write equally good songs after him too. Time changes. So I am fine if she never chooses to work with him.

TheVoice (50,786) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
She did recreate the Glitter promo shots. It's the one where she is wearing the one shouldered white dress. I'll attach a link with the post. If you scroll down, you'll see it right below the Butterfly cover homage.

Adam (50,740) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
It's nice of you to acknowledge your fault and I appreciate it. As for different opinions, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. It's not necessary for everyone to agree on everything. In fact there have been times when I probably had one opinion and reading someone's own opinion I re-evaluated my POV. So having different opinions is refreshing. We should all just keep it classy and avoid personal digs (this part is not directly only at you, it's a general suggestion to everyone on this board, because we all tend to do it at times). Lastly, I have no hard feelings towards you.

Adam (50,736) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I was the one who originally posted about Nick's behavior this time around and it was my opinion. If you are so open about other people giving out their opinions then why do you have a problem with me (or others) giving a negative opinion on Nick? Don't just go around pretending you know people by saying "they have unresolved issues with men" and that you wonder about how these people operate in relationships. That's downright offensive and I don't care whom your post was directed it, I take it personally since I was the one who brought up Nick's recent behavior. I avoided replying to the previous posts talking about how Nick shouldn't be hated upon because that's their opinion and they are entitled to it. But must you really take it up a notch and personally attack someone else? If you want people to stop lashing at you, maybe show them the way and avoid lashing out yourself? I used to think your posts are well balanced, but well I guess I was wrong.

Glitter (50,715) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I don't know why MC still thinks Glitter was so bad. I have watched the movie twice and it's actually not bad. I enjoy it. And do I even need to mention the soundtrack? It was amazing. Way ahead of its team. Come on MC. Also do you guys ever wonder that if MC dislikes Glitter so much, why did she choose to recreate the promo photos of Glitter for Memoirs? The other photos she recreated for Memoirs were some of her iconic photos like the debut album, the cover of Vision Of Love, and the Butterfly album.

Nick (50,689) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
The video of Nick getting twerked on by 3 women is disgusting. The man has no shame. He's the father of 2 kids now, he is in his 30s. He should be ashamed of himself. He is finally showing his true, sleazy personality. One would assume that after staying with a reserved, dignified woman like MC he'd pick up some of her traits but oh well. Good riddance for Mariah. She deserves much better, she deserves a proper man, who knows how to behave.

Brett (50,680) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Did you all see the picture Brett posted on his instagram with Mariah? It's even better than the one Mariah posted. Mariah looks hot. She's looking gorgeous and has the hair she had during 2013-#Beautiful era. Wow, she really is putting in an effort. I couldn't be happier. Well ya I could be, if I was hanging out with her, but you get my point.

Side Effects (50,679) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
So I put my iPad on shuffle and since 95% of the songs in it are MC songs, I knew I wouldn't have to press "skip" anytime soon. So anyways, Side Effects came on and I was like how does this song sound more and more amazing every time I hear it? There are songs I like that I listen to so many times that after a while, at times I press "skip" instantly once it comes on because well I need a break from it (happens rarely with MC songs though). Anyways so Side Effects has always been a favorite of mine. It's perfect. The haunting music, MC rap-sing style vocals, the chorus and the uplifting feeling it gives you, almost like you have actually found "the strength to walk away" from a painful experience. This song is lyrically and musically perfect. The lyrics are so descriptive that I can easily imagine the scenes playing out in my mind. I love it when MC writes lyrics that are descriptive (The Roof, Betcha Gon' Know). So I just thought of giving a shout out to yet another MC masterpiece.

RJJ12 (50,676) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
You are right about Beautiful. To date it bothers me, because the song had so much potential and without any promotion it did so well, that one can only imagine what would have happened if she did promote it. A definite top 10 if not a top 5 or dare I say #1. The song was fresh and completely different. The guitar riff was sexy. It had laid back summer hit song written all over it. The remix with Jeezy was also hot. It was such a lost opportunity. Mariah looked great. She could have promoted the hell out of it. This and E=MC2 (as a whole album and its individual singles) felt like lost opportunities to me. She could have picked up a lot of hits from it, which would also give a huge push to Memoirs. Her material never disappointed me. She always delivers, but it's her promo work for the last few years that is slowing her down. I think YM(E) also would have climbed the charts. Even if not #1, it still would have at least charted higher than #88. Every non-fan I played the song to loved it on first listen. But oh well, things happen. But MC still has it. This time it's war. Everybody talking crap about her needs to be shut down.

Brett Ratner (50,670) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
MC's new picture with Brett Ratner is hot tamale. I hope this indicates he'll be working on her videos.

Mandy Monroe (50,665) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Woah. That's brilliant. Take a screenshot of your post and tweet it to L.A. Reid and Mariah. I guess MC herself won't arrange this (because well she might be shy) but L.A. Reid or her team can definitely pull this off. She is in good terms with almost all the people she collaborated with and I am sure Beyonce, Rihanna and the rest would gladly come. This will be huge. It'll show everyone that MC is and will remain the queen.

Commodore (50,664) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Do you have a link to the interview? Did he say upcoming season or upcoming season finale? I have been hearing that she'll be there for the finale. Now if it's next season then it's going to be a long wait, but if it's the finale then it's just 2 episodes away.

RJJ12 (50,660) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Your list of songwriters/producers MC should work with is perfect. Atleast one if not all of those collaborations is likely to hit #1. The list got me all excited. Imagine the possibilities. MC is hot musically on her own, but pair that with a current hot producer/singer/songwriter and bam, the charts will eat it up. As for your other post about her having a lot of songs from MIAM, I totally agree. Like you pointed out that she did mention in 2013 that she has enough songs for the CD, yet she continued recording. Plus I mentioned in a post that even after releasing MIAM, she still kept posting pictures showing she is still recording. Plus between 2010 and 2014, I don't think someone like MC, who is always so much into music, just sat idle and didn't write any songs. Nick said around the time she was pregnant and right after the birth of dembabies that MC is continuously writing and recording and taking notes from her older albums. So that means she was working on a new album as early as 2010-2011. Her new album was probably going to come out in 2012, but due to the sad failure of Triumphant (woah failure of Triumphant), she probably abandoned plans to release the album and went on recording more. So I think MC has quite a lot of material in hand and I too believe (and hope) that an album will follow right after the re-issue of #1's. But I do hope MC takes notes and collaborates with some of the names you mentioned if she wants a surefire hit.

JD (50,658) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I am actually relieved that JD and Mariah are on good terms. I can't say for sure, but being the private person Mariah is, I think she only lets few people into her inner circle. She is always surrounded by a huge entourage, but I think she has very few people she can truly trust, and JD seemed to be one of those people. So I am glad that they are together. I don't mind them working together. I think they can easily try out different sounds because they are both great at it. So yay. If Jermaine likes it, then I like it.

Empire (50,610) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I have been thinking for a while and how many of you think Mariah may use her appearance in Empire as a promo for her next single? If she does that it would be brilliant because Empire is continuously breaking all TV show ratings records and that would expose MC to a huge audience, from young ones to more matured ones. And Empire is a show which revolves around music, so MC will fit right in.
