You are not alone buddy, I love E=MC2. It's in my top 3 Mariah albums. I don't think I skip any song while I am listening to the album and Side Effects is one of my favorites too. I think each and every track on that album was pure perfection. Could have been a huge success for her had she not disappeared in the middle of the promos.

Top 5 (44,772)

|
|
1) Faded - Amazing. Always somewhere but you're not there for me. 2) Thirsty - While I agree that it may get lost in the crowd of recent songs, I still think it's a great song and with a great video would have done pretty well 3) YDKWTD - Makes you want to get up and bust a move. 4) Make It Look Good - Love the intro, love the "lip, hip, dip" part and in general I love the song, it sounds different and fresh. 5) Money - It's such a fun song, the chorus is just so catchy. I had to leave YME out of the top 5 although I adore both versions, but I have been listening to it for months now, so yes backseat for now, but a great song nonetheless. Least favourite - Meteorite. I tried time and again to like this one, but it just didn't grow on me yet, but that's fine, a lot of other lambs seem to enjoy it a lot.

Off topic and I might get things thrown at me for writing about Miss Lopez but eh whatever. So JLo released 3 video teasers for her album, probably taking the Beyonce route of having multiple music videos if not videos for each track on the album. I was just checking it out and she has a song called Emotions, which basically almost made my ears bleed. Then ofcourse is Big Big Booty which is about well her BBB. And then the super annoying I don't wanna worry no more. Why any label would want to spend so much money on a talentless artist like her is beyond me and it's not like she is young either, she's the same age as Mariah. Unfair world. Sigh.

The picture Mariah posted with Nick and dembabies for Father's Day is so cute. Mariah looks beautiful. Nowhere near 44. And about the picture that two fellow lambs have been saying is from 1997 or 2008, if it's true what on earth is going on? I thought it was recent because I probably missed the pic on Oprah but are you guys sure? Then it's really weird. If not then MC is really getting her great looks back. Plus apart from that she still looks great in the black gown and the new family pic, so I am happy for her since she is usually so image conscious. At this point I am trying to take JD's words that there is still a plan for Chanteuse and so I will try (try dahlin try) to not complain about the lack of promotions.

I saw the recent pics on twitter. She is looking good and has she gotten slimmer? The pictures of her in the hot tub, then the one in the black gown and the one in the white tank top, her face seems to have gone back to the original shape. And is she wearing the same black gown she wore for the BET performance of YME? She looks better in it now that she did at that point, although I would really appreciate if she kept the other twins covered for a while.

I feel bad for JD. Why is everyone attacking him when maybe the truth is it's Mariah who is holding him back from doing his work? JD has been with Mariah for so long and produced some great tracks with her, more than that they have been friends for so long. But now I think the way the fans are bashing him and MC's just hiding and not defending him or even acknowledging the attacks is going to lead to a crack in their friendship. It will be somewhat of a loss to Mariah. Jermaine really did bring out some great songs with her. Mariah should really just start talking at this point. Why hide and let everyone and their brother take the bullet for something that is her fault. Even if it's not in her control she can atleast address the fans. She's posting away random things, and endorsing beverages and that's pissing off fans more. I don't get it, what is she getting out of pissing people off?

I completely agree with you (except for the merchandise part because I bought many lol). I care about Mariah but I am not stupid. People are saying that they are fine with just making music and don't care about sales. well first of all no label would want to sign her up and if her sales keep on falling like this I am sure Mariah herself will just not make any more albums because well what's in it for her? Her legendary image getting tarnished more? Her sales have taken a plunge by the second week, and some are saying that oh come on there is still time. Well we hoped the same for YME but it dropped off the face of the earth by the second week. And I would like to ask the fans bashing others saying that Mariah is not promoting her album because she may have personal problems and people are being selfish for wanting a good chart position, what exactly do you have to say now that she is out and about promoting a beverage and not an album she spent 5 years on?

Yes you are right, it was something regarding her family and she completely ignored it. Which is fine because it's her personal life. I was just saying the interviews sounds repetitive because Mariah's team has input on some mandatory questions they need to ask her. So just blaming the interviewers on asking the same thing and thinking Mariah gets bored of it is not exactly right.

You have your opinions and that's fine. I will agree that yes at the end of the day it's up to MC to decide what she does and doesn't do. But starting off your post with "Some of you need a life outside of MC" isn't really polite the last time I checked. You make it sound like, well I'll just speak for myself, that I am the guy character Mariah plays in Obsessed. I have been talking about Mariah not promoting because obviously Mariah wanted this album to be perfect and obviously she expected it to do well on the charts so she took so long. I was confused as to why she is sitting back and letting it sink. Why are you so sure that she doesn't want to promote it? She was booked on The View and I am sure many other shows but those had to be cancelled because the album kept getting delayed. We are all aware that the promotion strategies need to be planned months in advance, that includes booking the spots on shows. So it's possible that since the album kept getting delayed, maybe when she wanted the appearances she couldn't get it because other people have already been scheduled to appear there. We can all sit here and assume. Anyways I have nothing against you, all I say it that the least you can do is not go around telling people they don't have a life or that they are obsessed and that you seem to be one of the rare ones who can balance out your feelings.

Yes that's exactly what I also wanted to say. I am more than sure that the interviewers still get a guideline about what they can and what they must ask her. Even if they forget, Mariah brings it up herself into the the conversation so that's why the interviews are repetitive. Secondly if they even ask a question that she doesn't approve of she gives a very vague reply or talks about something completely different. Like in the NBC special she was vague about what's going on with her and Nick and in the Letterman interview he asked her something personal (I forgot what) and she completely ignored it and went on to talk about the album name generator app. About the promotions, it is her album and she should promote it. I don't care what people say, I for one am baffled that why spend so much time and effort on a product and then let it sink? Then why didn't she just release the album she had readied by 2012 or even 2013 and leave IDJ. Come on. Mariah has delayed the release dates because she wasn't happy with the track list, then she didn't like the way that her title got leaked and all that. If she didn't want a hit, then why bother? And if she wants a hit then why not work for it? Also, as fans, it's one thing to be fine with the way the album is performing but people shouldn't stop other people from expressing their opinions.

Honestly, it really pisses me off when some people here go on telling others how to feel about MC and how much of a fan (from 0 to Lamb) can a person be and how one should get a life outside of MC just because some of us are complaining about the lack of promotions. Who are you to tell people to get a life? Do you know the others personally? It's your opinion whether you like the album or not or whether you care about promotions or not, so stick to it, don't tell others to shut up. If I have an opinion, I will come and say it, so please don't tell me that I am obsessed with M, I love her and care about her as an artist and I don't think it's a crime to hope that she gets back on the top, regardless of whether it happens or not. As for her being filthy rich and that she doesn't need money, well buddy no one is talking about her bank balance, but if she wants to remain a relevant artist she'll have to maintain a minimum level of success, whether you agree or not. As for interviews, it's part of her job, she needs to do it and it's not just that the interviewers that ask her the same questions. You can be more than sure MC has a lot of control over what they ask. There are times when she herself brings up the common topics (biracial parentage, difficult life, when she started singing) without the interviewer asking her. Her new fans might not know about it, so she repeats them. Anyways my point is, don't go around telling others how to feel towards M. You don't need to be rude.

I really hope you are right and we get more Mariah music real soon yay. I know, I know she just gave us 14 good tracks, but I am always greedy for more Mariah. I hope the theory about Mariah locking away some of her good music for her new album which she will release after she storms out of Def Jam because that would explain why after 5 years Mariah's deluxe edition contains old songs from a previous album. At first I was happy that the remixes were included because I thought they were re-sung and turned into a completely different song like she did with H.A.T.E.U. but when it was just a copy paste job, I was disappointed. But either ways even if Mariah does plan to release another album, it doesn't mean she should just let this one sink. Why end an era with an under performing album when this could have been her latest big hit? After all people are calling out Mariah's sale figures being low, nobody (the GP/critics/ people writing the articles on the first week sales) are blaming Def Jam. It's always gonna be like "oh the Mariah album bombed".

Webmaster if you don't mind posting this up. I just found this cute video of Mariah singing acapella while recording the new album. There are other videos on YouTube titled "Mariah acapella moments" or something along those lines which has compilations of her singing acapella on different occasions and those are fun to watch. You all can YouTube those videos if you already didn't.

PJW / singles (44,527)

You make a good point about things Mariah says. And yes, it also bugs me that Stevie Wonder is not credited as a featured artist. The man is legendary, if I had Stevie Wonder even cough on my record, I would credit him on it lol. About the singles, I might be sounding negative in some of my posts but honestly YDKWTD is Mariah's last chance at saving her album and clearing up her image. If she doesn't go on promoting it and making it a hit, there is no other hope for her album. If this single under performs again, then nobody (except lambs) will sit around and wait for another single to save the album. This is it. I think 3 under performing singles (although the songs were great) due to lack of promotions should have taught Mariah by now that why she is not selling much copies.

Lol yes another mystery added to the the long list of other mysteries surrounding this album. You are absolutely right about the album. It is great and there were 3 songs that I didn't really like during the first listen but I like and appreciate them now. There is nothing wrong with the album, what's wrong is with the promotion. Only hard core lambs that actually bother checking every Mariah fan page to see what she is up to know about this album. Can we blame the GP for not buying the album? Nope, because how would they even know about it? There is almost zero promotion. Whatever hype #Beautiful created died down and people probably thought Mariah just shelved the album. So basically the low sales numbers can be blamed on the lack of promotions. Makes me sad.

Ugh, well it can't be Fabulous because she tweeted a picture with him before that. And Wale, I am not sure, because she said in another interview that the collaborator is someone she worked with before but it wasn't released. That's where JT and the Yours remix arguements came in. But like you are right, maybe it was Wale, or maybe by collaborator she meant a writer or producer? Or she just shelved the song for a future album. We'll never know. Mariah has been particularly "elusive" lately lol. And as for Stevie, I don't think he was on the track, because Mariah said that he only plays the harmonica, and also joked about how she managed to get Stevie in the studio and yet did not get him to sing.

She said this in the Billboard magazine I believe. That was after YME was released. Well she said there is a surprise collabo that she can't mention yet in the Billboard interview and that was months after YME was released. Plus the Mary J Blige and R Kelly thing, everyone already know since 2010. So that's why I was confused. Every single collaborator on the album was someone we already knew about. So ya, confusion, confusion. Thanks for the help nevertheless. Both the MOAIA remixes were thoroughky disappointing.

Correct me if I am wrong but weren't there some talks about David Morales working with Mariah in this album? I am guessing it's a remix. Are we going to hear it or what? Plus I still need the answer to the question about the mystery collaborating. Mariah said it was someone she worked with before but the song was not released. And we all went on arguing the possibility and merits/demerits of it being JT. So who was it?

Hey. Well it hasn't been confirmed by Mariah, but I first read about it in someone's post on this site and then Mariah Daily Journal had a post about a possible video shoot of YDKWTD being shot (it's the 4th or 5th post from the top dated 3rd June). There are dancers involved so I am hoping it will atleast be a little elaborate and grand compared to her last to videos. Those videos kind of did not do justice to the song. I was especially a little upset with YME's video because she went to such a beautiful location and yet did not make good use of it. I was more pissed off when I saw the remix video was just an extension of the original. They also didn't have any scenes of both MC and Trey together. I know they couldn't get trey to the location but they could have done some additional shots in NY. Anyways let's just hope this video is great and gives the album the much needed push. Eventhough the album debuted at #3, it's not great news for MC because there are articles already going on highlighting how its one of her lowest selling album, which sucks because this album is actually a master piece. Plus it is falling in the iTunes charts fast, if enough boost is not given to the album while it's still hot and fresh, people will not bother with it later. As for your album cover remake, it was awesome. I also liked the little "the art of being fabulous" title lol.

I get why you wouldn't expect Def Jam to do anything new for the album (with all the lack of promotion which basically ruined the album's potential) but there is a video already being shot with dancers and all so hopefully we will get at least one single (YDKWTD). Oh and I meant to write this before but I forgot, your TAOLG cover art remake was fabulous dahling.

I really liked the interview. I disagree with anyone that said she came off as fake. This is exactly the kind of interview Mariah needs, not the ones where she keeps talking about random stuff and not answering questions and cracking jokes about her boobs. She was down to earth and sweet which makes her look humble and more approachable. Don't get me wrong I do love Mariah's diva moments every now and then, but the GP probably take it negatively because they don't understand it's a joke. Anyways, and the person saying that Mariah has gotten lazy to do the concert at home. Please, this is what makes it seem so intimate and looks like she is singing to us directly from her home, like the private concert she did for the lucky winners of the contest. I enjoyed the interview and wished it would go on for a while. Mariah's eyes looked ready at some parts which made me really sad. I think all the performances except Money were live. The only thing I wanted was for her to sing a few more songs from the album especially ones she didn't perform yet like Faded and Dedicated or Cry or MILG instead of playing the YME clip and the YDKWTD clip.

That would really be awesome. This album has so many great songs and since Mariah kept saying that it reflects her journey over the last few years and that she sequenced the songs so that they form a story, it would be really nice to have her do videos for each song. One video can lead to another. Whatever video she releases next I hope it has a good concept and she doesn't end up just staring at the camera and touching herself. She should look back at great videos like Honey, Heartbreaker, Breakdown, all the videos from TEOM and take note.

Yes, yes I know she is not even close to Mariah's level, but her album seems to be going in with a smooth, more organized manner than someone who actually deserves it. Mariah has a solid album, her vocals, the production, the lyrics, everything is just out of this world but I just hate to see how unorganized everything is. I don't remember if you were one of the lovers or haters of YME, but I loved the track and it only peaked at 88 because of no major publicity. And now her album sales are also low. Excuse my rants, I am one of those people who wants Mariah to burn down charts again. I understand some fans don't really bother about chart positions anymore.
