About Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter:

TAOLG (40,052) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
We should all just leave it now. It's obvious that nothing more will come out of it, so enjoy the song, and wait for next year. It's already December, so it's not to far away. I think they may have something planned for February, single or album, can't be sure. So yes let's just wait for it, and in the mean time enjoy watching Mariah perform this season. Arguing whether the single would have been a hit or not is fruitless, it's too late for that. And I am sure Mariah, JD and her team know better than us because they are the ones who are actually in the music business, not us.

Christmas (40,039) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I'm excited that Mariah will be finally performing after so long! I'm especially excited about the Buble duet. I hope some album news follows soon. Christmas time usually always puts MC back in the news, I hope she takes this opportunity to start promoting her album. I need me some MC music dahlin'.

Randy / R Kelly / Mike Will Made It (40,022) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Oh wow, I never thought of it like that. That letting go can be about the label and not just a person. Makes sense that way too. Nice interpretation. I guess Mariah did indeed succeed in keeping this song open to different meanings. I'm excited about the R Kelly collaboration. Might be a sultry duet. There are rumors MC also worked with Mike Will Made It, he seems to be working with a lot of people currently. I wonder what he cooked up with MC. A dream collaboration for me would be Michael Jackson and Mariah Carey (I know they did the charity single, but not like that, I mean like a romantic song or something upbeat I don't care). MJ and MC are the greatest singers ever. Alas this is something that won't happen.

Autotune (40,019) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Mariah hardly uses autotune. She doesn't need it, but even in some rare cases when she does, I don't mind it. I mean come on the woman can sing! And pretty darn great at that. So she's got nothing to prove, that's why the occasional autotune in songs like Migrate, I'm That Chick, Obsessed doesn't bother me.

Underrated songs (40,013) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
These are my favorite underrated songs, and my list includes songs that most people (as in non hardcore fans) don't know about and songs that didn't reach number 1 and/or wasn't released.

2) Emotions: And You Don't Remember, Make It Happen
3) Musicbox: ATYNAF , Never Forget You
4) Daydream: When I Saw You, Long Ago, Melt Away, Forever, Looking In
5) Butterfly: Butterfly, The Roof, Looking In, Babydoll, Breakdown (and the remix, both amazing), Fly Away, Close My Eyes, Outside, Whenever You Call
6) Rainbow: Bliss, How Much, After Tonight, Vulnerability, Crybaby, Petals, Rainbow, Bliss
7) Glitter: If We, Lead The Way, All My Life, Reflections, Twister
8) Charmbracelet: TTR, The One (and remix), BOTH, You Got Me
9) TEOM: I actually love all the songs in this one
10) E=MC2: Again all of them here
10) Memoirs: Ditto
Others: I Still Believe (and Pure imagination remix), Slipping Away, Gotta Thing For You, I Know What You Want, Miss You, 100%, Almost Home, Li'l Love, My Love, Endless Love, Imperfect

Star magazine (40,011) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I wouldn't take Star magazine seriously. I heard Star and National Enquirer come up with ridiculous stories about celebrities, especially couples, all the time. Their other favourite target being Brangelina. But what worried me is the Barbara Walter and the recent radio interview. I watched the Walters interview with Dembabies when it first came out, and I kinda forgot about it, but yesterday I came across a snippet where when Barbara asked if MC trusts Nick, she said "sometimes". Then MC went like when he is nice, he is great. So Barbara asks like is he bad at other times, and MC is like "he's a man Barbara". And in the recent interview also she seemed a little upset about Nick. I really hope I am wrong, because I think they are an adorable couple, and have two adorable kids. If anything is wrong, which I hope is not, I hope they work it out.

Licia / Glitter (40,003) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I am from the 90's. And I still really like Glitter. Most, if not all the songs are great on that album and the ballads are really heartfelt. And the 80's remake with a modern touch was pure genius. That album was way ahead of time. People didn't appreciate it. They were too busy trying to make fun of Mariah's mental state and hence overlooked the album. And a lot of people writing articles on Mimi have a habit of saying stuff like "oh she's the biggest selling female artist except for a hiccup - Glitter, or a disappointment Glitter". I am sure most of these writers didn't really even listen to the album, they just went with what others said. I think some of her most underrated work are some of her best. People talk about her well known singles, which are definitely great, but she also has some really amazing album cuts.

Article (39,998) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I enjoyed reading the Buzzfeed article. The line "guess she shoulda wrote a song that finally finds out what rhymes with hug me instead" cracked me up lol. It's a shame that the music industry has changed so much that people with real talent are nowadays being overshadowed by "showy", over the top and talentless artists. I love MC's music, and I equally appreciate her classic songs along with her hip hop infused ones. People diss Glitter and all, I really don't get why. It has a lot of great songs (Lead The Way, Reflections, Never Too Far, If We, Loverboy). I hope her new CD comes with a bang. I desperately need more MC songs and I want MC on top of the charts again. Only she can do it!

#Beautiful remix video (39,992) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I wonder why MC decided not to release the video of the remix. If I remember correctly, Nick said that after the fall, he rushed to take MC to the hospital but she told him to stay back and finish the video. Then someone said that MC went back the next day and finished filming the rest of the video. A few days later some from her camp, or someone related to making the video tweeted that the video is almost ready or already ready and he can't wait for the fans to see it. So then what happened? I would really like to see it, I really enjoyed the hip hop remix.

Single or not (39,990) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Lamb_O_Chop, you should just calm down a little, ok? I get it that you have your strong opinions, so do I and a lot of people on this message board. Majority of the people agree that it was a single meant to promote the album. And TAOLG was meant to be on this album, Mariah has said so herself. Why the song was not released to the radios and accompanied by a video is the mystery everyone has been wondering about. And yes, "Never forget you" didn't have any music video. Quote from Wikipedia: "No music video was commissioned for the album version or any of the remixes, making it Carey's first commercially released single not to be accompanied by a video." And who is to say that this is her lead single? #Beautiful was supposedly the lead single and it did moderately well enough to be on the album. You "believe" it was meant for the fans, you don't "know for sure". None of us do. We're not from her camp. I am a huge MC fan, but if I see a flaw I won't just overlook and justify it. I want her to always stay #1. And she has managed to do so for 18 years (uptil 2008). I want her to come back with a bang like TEOM. But something seems to be wrong. So we can only hope that when time comes and MC finally releases the album, the whole system is super organized.

Webmaster / TAOLG (39,986) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Yes, thank you, that was the point I was trying to make. If Mariah said she wanted her fans to hear just her voice over the piano (I probably missed that quote) she just probably meant that she finally gave the fans what they have been asking for, because recently everyone has been complaining that her songs are dominated by rappers and all. Fans wanted her to belt out a "classic Mariah" and that's what she did. As for the part that she never performed it anywhere, there are previous singles which weren't performed anywhere, not just by Mariah, but in case of other artists as well. If the song was a gift to just her fans, she wouldn't bother giving interviews to promote it, she could have just mentioned it on her twitter and facebook, which have more than enough followers. It does hurt me that the song didn't do good, it was raw and heartfelt. (I even liked Triumphant.) So like it or not, it was a single, it was probably meant for her album, but there is a chance it might be just turned into a stand alone single like Triumphant and maybe #Beautiful. There's no need to start a war on this.

Lamb_O_Chop (39,983) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I am not among the people who are calling it a flop. I even wrote before that I liked it. So please don't just assume things. I am not "trying to make it a flop", I don't represent the world. The Fallon performance was Fallon's idea, not Mimi's. What I am saying is that the song was meant to be a proper single, but for some reason the label dropped it cold. I love Mimi as much as you, but you can't just overlook the fact that recently her management has been bad.

Lamb_O_Chop (39,976) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Who told you it was released "for the fans"? We need to stop justifying the horrid management/promotional arrangement of this era by saying repeatedly that Mariah released it for the fans. She did interviews with CNN and other well known shows to promote the song, then she also went on Fallon, the single was released in iTunes and given a single treatment right up until it was released. Right after that she went cold with it. Now there is no word on it. If she meant it for the fans, as a gift, she would have just said it. And obviously if she will release the album in February 2014, she needs to release singles to fill up the gap after #Beautiful. So nope, TAOLG was a proper single, but people in her camp are somehow screwing this era up. As for the video, Mariah previously released commercial singles without videos.

Wax figure (39,964) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Does anyone know why Mariah doesn't have a wax figure at Madame Tussauds? Even Paris Hilton and Miley Cyrus have one, but Mariah doesn't. Madonna and Michael Jackson and some others have multiple figures in each branch of Madame Tussauds.

Bring it on home (39,953) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
It was never mentioned if they were going to release it as a single or as part of the album. I think it was just meant for Obama. I think Barbara Walters did not really know that. (I can't be sure though.) I hate it that Almost Home didn't do better. I love the song, it's so beautiful and motivating. MC actually could have released the album by now. #Beautiful did better on Billboard than "It's like that", she could have followed it up with a strong ballad and then just release the album. I think all the remixes were a bit pointless (espcially the one with A$AP), because it didn't really help the song.

enwar00 (39,950) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
What on earth are you saying? You really want Mariah to go back to what she felt was prison just so she can have a hit? I'd take any Mariah song anyday and not care if it's a hit or not. It is frustrating that she or her management is being a little sloppy with this album, but that doesn't mean I want her to divorce nick and go back to Tommy. If you are a true MC fan you should learn to appreciate her music regardless of its chart position.

Not Nicki Minaj / Alain's post (39,945) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
The song is definitely not about Minaj. If anyone listens to the lyrics, especially in the second verse, it's clear that its aboutt an ex lover or former friend (I'm leaning towards the ex lovers, seems more appropriate). And the "bundle of your possessions, outside the kitchen window" is also a clear indication that's it's an ex lover. I agree with Alain. A lot of people are saying that MC released the song "as a gift to fans" so if that's all that matters, she should just release it (she doesn't need to prove anything). Her singles are being released with no proper schedule. I fail to comprehend how an artist of Mariah's level can have such sloppy management.

TAOLG / Mimi's new signature ensemble (39,854) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
The first time I heard TAOLG I was a bit disappointed, I did not immediately like it. However after the second and third time, I started liking it and now I absolutely adore it. I think MC finally came up with a song that showcases her amazing voice. Also I've been noticing that Mariah has recently been wearing only black dresses/gowns/ensembles (the recent two with the ever so risky single string holding it together) paired with black gloves. Maybe she's making that her new style statement. Looks good on her. Gives her a more edgy look. I really hope she does a great video for this song. Something that matches with the feel of the song, and not just about glamour. I was really disappointed with #Beautiful's video.
