Mariah the rapper (111,301)

I love Sarah Mclachlan, she is a legend. All these years later and she's still performing and making music. "Afterglow" is my favorite album from her. I've played it so many times and have never gotten tired of it. It's hands down one of her best albums.

Mariah the rapper (111,295)

When JD was talking about Mariah wanting to be a rapper, it didn't click until I heard Mi. She's talking about if it ain't about money I don't wanna hear it. Then I thought about Rihanna's Bitch Better Have My Money and Beyoncé's Diva. So the lines are blurred. Singing fast and talking about brands, bling and hoes is now r&b and pop. I think now about the fast singing in We Belong Together and the first verse of More Than Just Friends and Type: Dangerous. MC is really an MC. Thank God Sarah McLachlan comes out tomorrow. I miss ballads and old fogey music. When MC invited ODB in on Fantasy in 95, I thought she had a lane and he had a lane. Worked for me. Mariah is a bob and weave kinda driver. I wonder how this'll all sound at 60? I know. I know. She doesn't acknowledge time.

Packer (111,300)

They touched each other's legs under the table haha so hot and funny at the same time. They truly were hot for each other. In fact I bet she at one point was crazy about him sort of how she was with Derek Jeter. I'm glad I'm not the only Stan who wishes her and Bryan were still together and hopes Mariah finds love again.

Packer (111,288)

I love it. We'll pray for the right man. Men are called to provide, and I bet Nick and Bryan both felt they came up short because you just can't out-earn Mariah. The guy has to be fully aware that she's an exception, not the rule, and her making more money shouldn't emasculate anyone. Literally, we all get it. Mariah is rich as hell.
The one time she's with a billionaire who can actually match her wealth, it blows up in her face. Mariah's insane with money. She sued Packer for $50 million and walked away with 5 to 10 million plus kept the 35-carat diamond ring. I think at this time, she still has residual anger from divorcing Nick so she may have subconsciously lashed the rest of the anger out, on a billionaire.
Bad move though, because after much thinking, and with how Packer has now been exposed in high-profile corruption involving the Israeli Prime Minister who has crazy power in the US government and Hollywood, I'm now inclined to believe that he pulled some strings behind the scenes to get back at her. Their settlement was November 2016, and Mariah's public humiliation happened December 2016. That was such a straight savage move, and I feel stupid for not seeing the picture clearer much sooner. I wouldn't be shocked if Stella was instrumental on this inside job and was paid off as well. I thought Nick sounded stupid when he said, "The government did that," but now I see you can literally draw a straight line from Mariah to Packer to the US government, and it makes perfect sense.
Anyway, my point is that Bryan was truly a godsend to her at that time. I wish their romance had blossomed the first time they met on the tour bus in 2006. Their love story was cute: "We sprawled out over several tables and booths. We'd already started shooting flirty glances at each other in the bus about twenty miles back. We sat across from each other in a booth like eighth graders. We softly touched each other's legs under the table, undetected while the rest of the party roared on." And it's crazy how this is the same man who saved her exactly 10 years later, during what would become the darkest time of her life.

I find it funny somebody posted about why the dislike for this song recently and now I'm listening it to non stop haha. I just listened to the remix for the first time and I like it. I prefer the original but the remix is not bad at all. Very sexy song and the music is good. I wish we could have gotten more Mariah songs from '99.

I'm seeing on social media many fans being worried about Mariah's schedule and health. Not so much as what's going on with her medically but her being over worked. Can her voice handle it? I have noticed that she sounds her best during the holidays especially during her Christmas shows. I really would like to know does she rest more and has extra tea? I don't think she'll have any problems selling tickets so I hope she delivers and puts on a good show.

I agree, Bryan is fine and dresses decent compared to Anderson. Mariah looked so happy when they were together. I really wish they were still a thing because they made a great couple. I truly felt Bryan really loved her and wasn't out for her money etc. For a while I felt MC had finally found her man but I guess maybe Bryan wanted a family or there were other reasons why they broke up. Even with Nick I never really cared for him or took him serious because he was sort of goofy, and well look what happened he cheated on her. Like how dare you. I do hope Mariah finds love again one day and that it lasts.

I think the next single might be "MI". Also the song playing in the video of Mariah signing autographs is "I don't wanna lose your love" by The Emotions. Mariah has great taste.

HFIA album versions (111,169)
by BFF from United States
| |
|
|
I'm very confused by the fact that Amazon is selling two versions of the album with one being slightly more expensive than the other. Is there any difference amongst the three versions of the album than the cover image?
Also, I just saw that Amazon is advertising the album as having a Mariah-only version of "Sugar Sweet". Does that mean that Mariah is going to try promoting a solo version of it as a single? I honestly didn't think that Kehlani and Shenseea added much to the song but understand their inclusion as an attempt to appeal to a younger audience.
Any word on a third single? I also wondered what song was playing in the background of the video with her signing the CDs and if it was a song from the album.

I love your profile pic, I love the Butterfly album and era. Mariah looked her best during that era. I would say she sounded her best but some will disagree and that's okay. I miss her Butterfly voice so much I wish she had recorded another album that year haha. Something about her tone and the rasp in her voice especially in "Honey" was so sexy and angelic at the same time. I'm sure even Mariah wishes she could have her Butterfly voice back.

Mariah's statistics, success, and resume speak for themselves. JD said it himself in that interview on The Breakfast Club. Kudos to JD for sticking up for her when the interviewers tried to insinuate that Mariah would not have had the comeback in 2005 without him. I remember when people tried that mess with Mariah herself and tried to insinuate that she would not have been successful without Tommy. As Mariah said on "Caution": "That's a no-no. No-no."
Who cares about who got the most consecutive number ones or sent their first five or seven singles to number one? Mariah's the undisputed champ for solo artists in the United States and has the most cumulative weeks at number one for any act. And she wrote/produced on all of her number ones except for "I'll Be There".
And over the next few years, she will almost certainly snatch back the record for song with most weeks at number one from Lil' Nas X and Shaboozey . They can both send her some flowers.

"With the lead single 'Emotions' ('You're So Cold' was initially considered) she became the first and only artist ever to send her first five singles to #1 on the Hot 100. Legend behavior and it was only album #2."
That information is inaccurate since Whitney Houston set a record by sending seven consecutive singles to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 between 1985 and 1988. She broke the previous record held by The Beatles (six consecutive #1's).
"Saving All My Love for You" (1985) "How Will I Know" (1986) "Greatest Love of All" (1986) "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" (1987) "Didn't We Almost Have It All" (1987) "So Emotional" (1987) "Where Do Broken Hearts Go" (1988)
Mariah was getting close, she had five straight #1's before "Can't Let Go" broke the streak. If Sony hadn't pulled the single from shelves, she could have tied "The Beatles" of six consecutive #1's. But since her later Emotions singles didn't top the chart, she wouldn't have surpassed Whitney.

Thank God I Found You and Don't Forget About Us are such a snore-fest. They don't belong with the rest of the number ones. There are so many songs in Mariah's catalogue that should have reach the top spot, but didn't. These two are not the ones.

Well, we're just weeks away from finally getting "Here For It All". I'm pretty sure the album will be online a few days early, since Amazon and other retailers usually ship so fans can have it by the release day. Seven freaking years... I love this song so much, had it on repeat today. (Beyonce could never.) Mariah in her prime was the best, she was meant to sing gospel and it's a shame we never got a full studio gospel album. That's why I'm so excited to hear "Jesus I do". From what I've heard it's very good. I can't wait.

I saw it and it's very uncomfortable to look at. Busta is wrong and disrespectful for even asking that. Like don't you have a wife? Second Mariah is looking like Wendy Williams there and looks more medicated than intoxicated and the singing was very painful to hear.

I don't know if anyone watched any of the videos floating around. First of all, Busta *twice* said he wanted to hump Mariah's leg. He would not be anywhere near the top of my list of men for Mariah to hook up with. Secondly, she seemed really out of it when they started singing along to "I Know What You Want". I don't know if it was just alcohol consumption, but she was very glassy-eyed in that footage. Yet another reason why I'm worried about her and worried that she's working too hard.

That and I feel like her injury from 2013 where she cracked her rib, broke her arm and damaged her nerves, is actually catching up to her. I hate it lol, it just doesn't look good on her. I think what bothers me is the boots. Not even Beyonce would look good in that. Also the earrings and necklace age her in my opinion. I like the type of dress she wore at the 2005 MTV Movie Awards. I also wouldn't mind a feather type ensemble that gives us Diana Ross.

To be honest, I liked the short jumpsuit, because I hated the leotard moments from 2017. But I will say this VMA jumpsuit is a little too short. The right length was one she wore at Brighton Pride, purple and blue gradient ensemble. Though, I'm happy no one is roasting her like when Madonna wears something outrageous because Mariah actually looks good. The "give it up" commentaries are nowhere to be found.

I listened to "Bliss" last night and it was so ahead of its time. Mariah really out did herself with this one. It's one of her most underrated and one I feel gets over looked and not enough praise. Her whistles are really something else. The first "All my love is for you" at the end is my favorite part. I actually like the Rainbow album and I love her voice transformation from Rainbow to Charmbracelet.
