About Aliya from Canada: I am 22 years old and I have been a huge fan of Mariah since "We Belong Together'. She is the best vocalist of all time and I will always support her.

Re: List your top 10 Mariah Christmas songs (96,552) (96,554) by Aliya from Canada
1. O Holy Night, by Mariah

And that sums up my Christmas. In my opinion, the the best vocals ever are in this song.

The kiddies being smarter than the older people who voted for him. The song has been put to good use.

Re: This should be a single, Busta & MC (96,463) (96,467) by Aliya from Canada
First listen, I was thinking: Where are Mariah's vocals? She barely does anything in the song. It sounds like a knock-off of "I Know What I Want".

Second listen: This song is a vibe. It grew on me. Although she doesn't sing much, what she does add complements the song perfectly. Her and Busta sound great together, again.

Where I Belong (96,441) by Aliya from Canada
I cannot wait for this collab. I hope it's as slick as "I Know What I Want". Coming Friday.

Re: The future is not looking good (96,302) (96,313) by Aliya from Canada
Who cares how relevant Mariah is now? Her real fans know her and that's all that matters. Nobody stays current forever. People will continue to discover her music when she was in her prime. That excitement of hearing her voice for the first time will still happen for people who haven't discovered her yet. I don't care about the charts or what other people think about her, or what they think about the fact that I like her. She has impacted me in ways that I can't begin to express in words.

Re: Mariah unfiltered feelings about things (96,234) (96,239) by Aliya from Canada
If we are still talking about Celine, do people remember when Mariah sang with Olivia Newton-John? In the performance, Mariah clearly takes a step back to let Olivia's vocals shine because Olivia is a legend in her own right and it was her song. By doing this, Mariah showed her respect for Olivia. I feel like Mariah may have genuinely thought that Celine should have given the same respect to Aretha when they performed. I didn't consider this before, but after re-watching the performance of Mariah and Olivia, I can see where Mariah is coming from when talking about Celine in her book. I also don't think Celine meant any harm and didn't realize that she may have upstaged Aretha. She was simply singing and trying her best, as a singer should, but didn't mean to disrespect anyone.

Re: Trash (96,047) (96,053) by Aliya from Canada
I haven't read the part about Celine Dion yet. But wow, that seems kind of low of her to dwell on that. It seems kind of irrelevant in the bigger scheme of her book.

Re: Swan song (96,042) (96,051) by Aliya from Canada
I agree with what you saying that Mariah does not seem self-aware and objective about her past experiences. But I think that is partly because she wants to portray herself in a positive way to the world to see. Maybe this book isn't necessarily for the lambs, because we already know so much about her. Celebrities like Mariah get bashed by the media for things they didn't do or say. I still come across people who don't like Mariah based on whatever they have seen in the media. So, I think the book was just to make people think positively of her, instead of having them judge her by her past downfalls. We, as lambs, know that there is so much more that she could have said and wanted her to mention. But this book is about giving her a positive image.

Re: Fave five The Rarities songs (96,014) (96,018) by Aliya from Canada
1. Out Here on My Own (Perfect song. She demonstrates incredible strength and vulnerability in her voice. Everyone can relate to it.)

2. All I Live For (Reminds me of Bobby Brown's "Every Little Step I Take". Love this style of music.)

3. I Pray (Beautiful song, beautiful message.)

4. One Night (Who can get over Mariah's Daydream era voice? To me, it's the perfect woman voice.)

5. Loverboy (It's so playful, her tone is so velvety and she's just so cool, lol.)

I Pray (95,929) by Aliya from Canada
I can't believe the song, "I Pray". It's just absolutely beautiful. It takes my breath away. It's just so genuine and sweet, from the lyrics to her tone, her strength and her signature sound. It's perfect. Everything she expresses paints this beautiful picture of how we all want the world to be. There are no words to describe how much I love this song. Thank you so much Mariah Carey.

Out Here On My Own (95,650) by Aliya from Canada
I don't even know how Mariah could hide this song for all of these years. It's too insanely good to keep hidden. Does she even know how good it is? And for the song not to make it onto the Glitter album is also shocking because I like it better than most songs on that album. Such a beautiful, perfect take on that song.

Re: Another take on the voice (95,178) (95,197) by Aliya from Canada
I never thought of it like this, but I completely support your point. It's the shock factor of a young kid discovering Mariah's insane vocals. That is the value she has that is everlasting. Her prime vocals will continue to astonish all people who discover her.

Save the Day is better than some say it is (95,154) by Aliya from Canada
Personally, I love the song. I love the message the song gives, because this is a time when we need it most. I actually love the way the song is constructed, the chorus and everything. That being said, I understand why some people say that it sounds sort of unpolished. I guess that's why it is featured on The Rarities, rather than an an actual album. I like that she gave us something great, because I missed her putting out songs. I honestly enjoy the song. It's a grower.

Re: Through the Rain/Make It Happen (Rise Up NY) (94,095) (94,097) by Aliya from Canada
It is a fact that Mariah's voice is not what it used to be. Everyone knows that and it's something we all have to accept because we can't change the situation. There are a million reasons why Mariah's voice is at its current state. For example, with aging, vocal cords lose flexibility, elasticity and become weaker. Again, there are so many other reasons. But I keep watching her performances, because every one in a while, she surprises me and hits a note that sounds like her in her younger years. That being said, this was a good performance compared to some of her others. And it was creative.

Mariah was amazing in this performance. It was so creative and her vocals her impressive. She looked so happy, and it's great she is using her platform for such a great cause. I love her.

Re: For all you non believers Amazon music (93,818) (93,825) by Aliya from Canada
I'm pretty sure the people in charge of iTunes, which was developed by Apple, are some of the smartest people in the world. Therefore, I highly doubt that this is a scam, and that some lamb got into the system and made E=MC2 number 1. Remember, she is the best selling female solo artist of all time. This is not so hard to believe, especially since the album is on sale.

I agree. I love the way she is moving in this song. She looks comfortable, and she seems like she's letting loose and having a good time. I love hip hop inspired attire. This is just cool.
