She tilted her head in pictures even before she gained weight. For example, many images from 2008 even. Or the Glitter album cover. Or the music video for "My Love". She thinks she looks the best from that angle. Really, there are worse things a person can do.

I'm not sure if it's a weight thing. But she definitely thinks she looks the best from that angle. I remember her saying a lot about her "good side" and "bad side" when taking photos, and also the lighting. I guess everyone wants to look good in any photos they are in. A little odd, but I get it. Whatever makes her feel good. She's beautiful regardless of the angle.

What about the title "The Everlasting Butterfly", meaning that Mariah will always be here to stay, even though she is 30 years in the game.

I loved this performance. It was so raw and real. I honestly think that Mariah should do more of these performances in the studio and show us. I love it. I think she feels comfortable and can hear herself in this kind of private setting. Overall, she hit some great notes and I was impressed.

The Backstreet Boys haven't done anything in years. That's probably not their house, but they wanted us to think their rich, lol.

You and I (93,437)
by Aliya from Canada
| |
|
|
I just want to show some love for Mariah's performance of "You and I". It was absolutely beautiful when Mariah performed it. It really showcases her lower register. She had fluid transitions between notes, crazy whistle notes and she was sooo confident. Overall, she was incredibly fierce and powerful in this performance. I remember watching it years ago, but after watching it again recently, wow... it still gives me chills. This is an example of why I will always support her.

I think she will most likely sing Hero, because it's a well-known song that most people know and can relate to at this time.

Re: Correct, you didn't think (93,355) (93,356)

I think the solution should involve rules and regulations for what animals are safe to eat and which are not. A proper infectious disease list that allows people to eat animals that we know for sure do not carry viruses. These rules should be implemented worldwide. And if they are not followed, there should be serious consequences, such as jail time and fines. But yes, it is true that in China, many people have a culture where they eat animals that are odder than normal. And from this, I hope people who follow this type of culture understand the consequences of it, like the world-wide COVID-19 pandemic that is happening right now.

Re: C virus future plans (93,277) (93,279)

Yes, this corona virus pandemic is insane. The most widespread outbreak in history. High risk for the young, elderly and people with who already have chronic diseases especially. It would cause severe pneumonia that can take over your lungs and kill you. And it's spreading rapidly. This is nothing to take lightly, so stay safe everyone.

Bruno Mars is that good. He knows melodies, how to write incredible songs, produce, how to sing and perform. He brought back old school disc-type music and infused it with current music of today. His only 3 albums he put out were hits immediately. He's amazing. He just knows how to make hit songs and how to make them catchy, and I think he would be beneficial for anyone who works with him.

Best background music and instrumentals (93,171)
by Aliya from Canada
| |

|
Hey everyone. What do you guys think is the song with the best instrumentals? I think "For the Record" has really great music that complements her voice. I also like the instrumentals for "One and Only". I also love "Make it Look Good" instrumentals.

Re: Anyone else listen to E=MC2 more than TEOM? (93,115) (93,122)
by Aliya from Canada

TEOM all the way. This is when she really began to incorporate R&B. Her voice on this album was breath-taking. In my opinion, her voice is much better here than on E=MC2. I can't imagine I would like her as much as I do without TEOM. From Stay the Night to One and Only. I have yet to here [sic] another album like this. It's a classic. And it's exactly my style of music. This album is really when I became a hardcore lamb.

Re: #Beautiful should have been the 19th (93,027) (93,043)
by Aliya from Canada

I think that knowing the kind of crap they play on the radio today, #Beautiful could have been a 19th number 1 just because they don't play good music on the radios nowadays. #Beautiful is not one of Mariah's best songs, but I still think it could have been bigger. It was short and sweet, even though it was not up to the higher standard we are used to by her.

I agree with you. I think she could make another WBT by working with the right people like JD, LA Reid, etc. I think she could do really well on it vocally as well. And I believe that We Belong Together is timeless. It's written and sung beautifully. I feel like WBT had a better production and more intricate lyrics than With You, but yes, I do think With You is a good song. Honestly, I could see her make a great hit on the radio again. I didn't even expect the song Beautiful to get as much airplay as it did.

Re: Mariah needs to recover her voice and stop touring (92,886) (92,893)

I agree with you. People like JLo get praised for their dancing, and less for the singing. I say, I want Mariah to do more of the singing, but still incorporate some dancing and moving around. I think I wouldn't complain if she moved more.
Have any of you seen that Family Guy episode where they made fun of her for not moving? I don't want people to talk about her that way. She is the best singer of all time.

It still surprises me how strong her voice was when she was pregnant. It's interesting to consider the different factors that can make her voice stronger or weaker. It's unfortunate that her voice is fragile. But at least there is always hope that she will deliver a good performance, even though it's inconsistent

Re: The problem with Mariah (92,783) (92,785)
by Aliya from Canada
| |
|

I think Mariah should continue her singing in her career and have a positive outlook about what's to come in the future. Yes, her voice is not what it used to be, nothing lasts forever, but she still makes amazing music that I will always love. Caution may not have been her best work vocally, but it was still beautiful and stayed true to her sound and everything she is about. No matter what, she is way too cool to stop making music. There is just something about her music that puts her that makes her stand out to me more than any artist. A signature sound that is so her, despite some vocal deterioration. She has so much experience and is an expert at creating masterpieces of music. Plus, not many artists on the radio can sing at all.

That's so true. I'm kind of wondering if less concerts and touring over the years would have preserved the strength of her voice. The last time I was very impressed with her voice, studio album wise, was Supernatural and When Christmas Comes.

I do still think the Superbowl performance will be criticized if there isn't some movement from her. Plus, the Honey dance is so cute. And so is the Heartbreaker dance.
Or scrap that and just have absolutely insane vocals from Mariah that shocks the world because it's just so incredible.

I love your ideas Tijl, but I think to make the Superbowl performance good, there would have to have some movement at some point from Mariah. Maybe do the dance to Honey. Even though she is not a dancer, I think a dance from her would make it all come together, even if it's minimal.
