I thought the word play was funny/cute and I liked the vibe of the song. I still play the original, I wish it had the whistles. "Infinity" on the other hand I haven't played in a while. But regardless yes, I would like Mariah to collaborate with some fresh collaborators whether they are new singers or songwriters to kind of get a fresh sound. I know with the right people Mariah can adapt to their sounds because she literally can do anything musically. All she needs is that inspiration. (Wednesday 24 February 2021; 15:27)

Mariah and Cardi Interview (97,462) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Do I smell a song collaboration in the making? At the very end Mariah asks Cardi if they can do a song together, and she says yes. Now I have to say I'm surprised Mariah did this interview especially since last time Mariah was vocal about wanting Cardi to be on the "A No No" remix and then Cardi declined it. And in Mariah's world I would have assumed that would put her in the "I don't know her" box haha. But I'm glad that Mariah still "knows" Cardi. And from what Cardi said, that she sometimes doesn't like meeting celebs she loves because she doesn't want to be hurt by them and have their image tarnished in her mind forever. So it could be that Cardi was quick to decline ANN because she's a Mariah fan. I'm undecided about Cardi. I like her because she's outspoken and confident and doesn't take shit but sometimes I also find her annoying. But I would be here for a song with MC and Cardi, something that is empowering to women. The story goes that after a night out at a club RuPaul went to a fast food restaurant and someone was about to pick up a bag that didn't belong to them. That's when the employee behind the counter said "she done already done had herses" basically meaning "she had already gotten her bag, this isn't hers". Also I didn't start watching the UK version yet but they once had a Mariah episode in the US version. Where they were told to kind of be like those televangelists recruiting people to join their beliefs and one team chose Mariah, the other chose Britney and I was shocked at how little they knew about Mariah. It was a disaster. The only other time they mention her to my knowledge is during the US all stars season in one episode and I didn't watch that yet. (Saturday 13 February 2021; 14:09)

Usually we have updated videos by Monday and list of EPs, track lists and cover arts released by Wednesday every week before the EPs are finally released on Friday. We got none of that this week. (97,343) (97,344) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I think we can be pretty certain that it won't be released because she really isn't releasing any previously unreleased material. At max we will probably get the Obsessed, UOOMF and Angels Cry remixes (feat. Gucci Mane, Nicki and Ne-Yo respectively) because those were the only ones released. I won't even acknowledge the BGK and IAW remixes on MIAM. Those 2 are the most uninspired remixes and horrible cut and paste jobs. R Kelly's verse doesn't even make sense in the song with contradictory story lines. (Side note: if R Kelly wasn't such a sleaze I would have loved to have the TMB R Kelly unofficial free style on streaming because that's really good but oh well he's a disaster.) I don't know why she chose those 2 out of all options, maybe it fit better with the dark, gloomy and betrayal themes of MIAM but ya completely lack lustre. I do really enjoy the H.A.T.E.U. So so def remix and the Ribbon remix that was leaked and it would have been great to have those but I don't think we'll get it. As for Skydiving I think Liron pretty much said Mariah doesn't have it. Also she was on a different label during MOAIA so that creates another layer of barriers. I will be surprised if she does make those available though. (Thursday 11 February 2021; 22:29)

MC30 E=MC2 (97,302) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I wonder why BB was completely left off the MC30 celebrations. I was thinking they'll include the Akon remix. Also "Side Effects" was left off, and I was hoping for the Busta remix. I know SE wasn't a single but neither was "You're Girl" and "I Only Wanted" but those received EPs. It's weird that ITC wasn't even released as a single at all because E=MC2 was originally named "That Chick" with ITC being the first single. Don't know what LA Reid was thinking. "For The Record" could also have been a good closing single. I always had this vision of her doing the FTR music video and in the part where she references her old songs (like ABMB, My All, UTS, WBT, CLT and Honey) she could've paid homage to her iconic videos. That song is way ahead of the trends and was catchy and sexy. I feel like E=MC2 is the album which shows Mariah's songwriting range and and it's sad that it didn't get the attention it deserved. I mean it was a hit but it could have been massive especially riding off the TEOM wave. What I mean by songwriting range is basically she had everything in this album - the ballads, the uptempos, the Jamaican flavor for CC, the club songs, and everything in between. So people who only think Mariah writes love ballads and sad songs would've gotten to see that's not all she is capable of. Also Mariah was looking amazing, all eyes were on her for her transformation. It was just set for success and then they release BB as the second single. Don't get me wrong, I think BB is beautiful but it was definitely not the right second single. (Thursday 4 February 2021; 21:02)

I usually like "Migrate" but I just quickly sang the chorus of both in my head and I would have to agree ITC is more catchy and would've probably gotten the attention of the young audience. Not that "Migrate" wouldn't do the same but ITC just has a catchier feel to it. E=MC2 had so much potential. The single choices just messed it up. (Thursday 4 February 2021; 19:07)

Re: Mariah Carey's sister sues over tell-all memoir (97,274) (97,276) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Funny how Alison is calling Mariah out for putting "unsubstantiated" claims in Mariah's memoirs when Alison has made many allegations against her family including Mariah and their mother (of abuse and cult involvements) and never gave any proof of that. Also I don't understand what she means by Mariah never gave Alison a chance to "respond to the claims". It was an autobiographical book, simply put its "Mariah's story about her life". It wasn't a documentary that required other people to put in their views or versions. She could've just put in a statement to the press denying the claims instead of having to try to profit out of it. (Wednesday 3 February 2021; 00:25)

Is Ch Cha giving birth again? Hahah I'm kidding. Honestly though, I'm very intrigued. Is Mariah actually going to drop a surprise song/project? Is this her version of "Someone's Ugly Daughter"? When her memoirs was released her nephew teased she has 2 surprises for us. One was the Chick album, the other was never revealed. People thought it was "Skydiving". (Tuesday 2 February 2021; 14:21)

I've missed writing here and sharing my love for Mariah with other like minded people. Glad to be back and glad that my account didn't get suspended or anything haha. She got Melissa assigned because Melissa was a RocNation employee. Now that Melissa left but Mariah is still with RocNation, they'll be separated. Mariah didn't sign Melissa herself, RocNation did. TEOM appreciation post (97,243) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Can we take a moment to appreciate the force (I would write in all caps but Eric would despise that) that is TEOM. This era was everything. I'm not just talking about the amazing songs it gave us but what it symbolizes for Mariah. This album was truly an "emancipation" for her, and what a comeback. People had written her off, she was almost being turned into a legacy artist. And she comes rising like a Phoenix. Everything about this era was just so fabulous and powerful. The title, the powerful stance on the cover, the videos, the fire starter single that's ILT. "I came to have a party"- and she wasn't lying. The world was dancing to Mariah's tunes. She looked fierce, you could just tell she was feeling herself from her attitude. Such a contrast from "Charmbracelet" where she looked timid and shy. I'm trying to imagine the feeling she felt proving everyone who had written her off wrong. Every time I revisit that era be it through rewatching the videos or live performances or interviews, I just feel so proud of her all over again. Also huge shout out to the music videos, each and everyone single video was top notch, perfectly executed and still look fresh to this day. I'm so glad for TEOM, Mariah needed it, the lambs needed it. When Mariah sang "it's my, it's my night" she meant it. It was her time to shine, and that part always puts a smile on my face. Shawn posted this mentioning Mariah in the caption and Mariah "liked" it and commented on it asking what song he's listening to, then she went on to post her own version which Shawn shared on his timeline. She's always talking about her #1's and her accomplishments (and yes she deserves it, she has the right to brag, she accomplished it on her own, even sometimes against all odds). If people think Mariah doesn't want another #1, look no further than her own actions. Every time a single underperforms in the recent years (pre-caution) it was dubbed a "teaser" and not the main lead (case in point "Triumphant") and then she released another song to see if that would perform better. I don't blame her, she's used to be the queen of Billboard so obviously she likes seeing her name next to #1. But you need the budget and the promo push for that, and the only two ways to do it is self invest or get a collaboration which gets a budget. And like RJ112 said, she's on a label, it's a business contract, she will want her to churn out more money than they invest on her. If they see only her Christmas ventures are being profitable, they'll just invest in that and not bother with pushing new releases. (Thursday 28 January 2021; 17:17)

MC30 TEOM remixes (97,230) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I'm excited that according to the list not are we getting all the remixes of the main singles (including all the re-sung ILT remixes and the SIO remix with Jay-Z) we're also getting the two "You're Girl" remixes and "Secret Love" and "Sprung" is also being added. Although to be honest I don't really care much for the last two songs. From the platinum version my favorite is "So Lonely" which is pure fire. But it's always nice to have her whole discography available for worldwide listeners, and "Secret Love" and "Sprung" were just Japan and UK exclusives if I'm not mistaken. Same with what I felt when she collaborated with Ariana. I didn't expect it to go to #1 and I enjoy them both. But would I want her to have another #1 in general because I believe she can? For sure. I have in a previous post of mine said that Mariah has continued to write great songs but those don't chart for variety of reasons and 2 of them is budget and exposure. Collaborating with a new artist would get her both and there is nothing wrong with that. Your response is aggressive for sure. "Buy it or don't, stream it or don't, promote it or shut up" - that's aggressive and unnecessary. It's a public message board, I can say whatever as long as I'm not insulting anyone and the webmaster thinks it's fine, you don't get to tell me to shut up. I understand you find it upsetting that people keep hoping that she gets another #1 but you don't need to resort to name calling like "inexperienced coat tail riders" for that. Nothing can diminish Mariah's legacy and in my follow up post prior to me seeing your post I did say the reason Mariah probably doesn't collaborate much is because she wants to be known for getting her own #1s.
