Every song released and makes it unto the charts is up tempo or mid tempo. You would think with the right promotion and airplay, Miss You Most could easily be a top 10 hit each year. He was the softest and most unassuming of the big-name celebrities I have met - like most celebrities they appreciate people around them who are casual and not starstruck. But it didn't register with me at the time that he was - and is - one of the best-selling artists of all time. He did not seem fully comfortable being around people. I just felt warmth and compassion for him. I think it appropriate to say we shall never look upon his like again. To continue the original irony of that quote: Here is George. This was the night. And *that* right there is my rather expensive bottle of voddy. But it was rather funny seeing this in the newspaper a couple of days later. And it's George bloody Michael. So all is forgiven, Sir. I think there are many contenders for the 3 most beautiful words in the English language: aside from the obvious, "let me help" is certainly powerful. But I would suggest that "one more try" is a great axiom and a brilliant mantra by which to live. I am currently now listening to One More Try and Heavenly on repeat thru my headphones and I will admit they have me a bit emotional. The songs go very well together and I think Mariah can lay claim to: "never give up". But whether "never give up" or "one more try" - please, don't ever anyone ever give up, for you always have one more try within you. Just one more try. Stand fast. (Monday 2 October 2023; 12:38)

I had a conversation with a friend of mine who is an opera singer (professionally) and he said that he was not surprised that he was not surprised by the decrease of her voice during the years. She's not a soprano, but sings in that voice too much, and that female voices seems to get broken during the years if they don't take care of it. Mariah's version (103,098) by enwar00 from usa That Love Story acoustic performance is just beautiful, one of my faves, so short and sweet, forgot about it. Can you believe that was 15 years ago? That was a long time ago. I feel like a different person. Looking back now, an acoustic remake album would've been super cool. And she was still in her 30s. Now she's in her 50s. That's a big difference. Maybe her voice just wasn't meant to last. Maybe she's just enjoying her life and kids and hundreds of millions of dollars now. Personally I'm bored of the Christmas stuff. MB30 (102,904) by Terna from Nigeria "Music Box" is one of her core albums to me, and the only album to capture the sheer vocal power she possessed back then but for quite a short time. The vocals on it match Whitney Houston in forte, her range seems endless, and her tone most fluid and buttery. This is also the era when she sang songs live better than on the record - case in point "Hero" from Proctor's Theater. One thing I do notice however is that her whistles are weak on this record and not really the focus of her vocals. This was also the first time we got to hear Mariah sing high falsetto on "Dreamlover". (Saturday 17 June 2023; 20:52)

I loved the MC and C&C uptempo collaborations they brought a happy vibe to early Mariah albums, shame it only lasted two. I'd love Mariah to do an upbeat, radio friendly song now. Even if she takes a step back from the music and just inputs on the lyrics. Sometimes it's hard to create magic when you've been writing songs for so long, I'd just love a good solid song/album. The BET Award nominations 2023 are finally here (102,862) by Randy from USA When I saw this article I had to go back and watch MC's performance with Latto. It was so sweet to see Latto give props and flowers to MC. The industry is really starting to piss me off between the Grammys and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. No MC can't win everything but give her her flowers. Before they died, I feel like Whitney, Luther, MJ and Prince were given proper tributes and accolades. Now that Celine is sick, does that mean they'll give her a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction and MC will be overlooked yet again? All we have left from our era is MC, Janet and Madonna. At the same time we have to remember that it's all about the perspective. Mariah was insane big in the US and some Asian countries. Celine was extremely popular in Europe and North America. Neither has Celine Dion had bigger hits. Matter of fact Celine was pretty much unknown until the late 90's with Titanic and Mariah had already had One Sweet Day, a feat she repeated again with "We Belong Together" in the 2000's.
