I think this is all very intentional on her part. It's a clue as to where she is (obviously) and what she is up to. I know September 15th will lend some insight too at MSG. I think it's a clue just like pointing to that poster of "I'm gonna need a bigger boat" from back around her birthday. Daydream is Mariah's magnum opus (103,469) by jaker20 from US Some say it's Music Box, Butterfly, TEOM, and some even say it's Caution or Merry Christmas, but that's only because she has so many. But Daydream is really where she hit the pinnacle, when she got the most Grammy noms, and hit her 11th no.1. She could have said it's a wrap (no pun) at that point, but she went on and on and gave The Beatles a run for their money. But Daydream is what I would call a perfect pop album, start to finish. You can sense a longing for more maturity here before she went full blow emancipated in Butterfly, the writing is some of her best, and the melodies are classics. "Fantasy" is a just a perfect pop song and best example of sampling. It is so good that even the remixes are top notch bops and its stands out a rework such as BE. It even works so well as a film score in multiple variations because it just have so many facets. Rolling Stone putting at no.400 in their 500 greatest songs of all time is just criminal because I can't think of a more perfect pop song. Oh and the rest of the album slays too. I am wondering how a 2023 Ben Margulies collaboration would sound today. I am hoping there are some more Ben collaborations in the vault. He is in the same class of producers and songwriters that MC never worked with again after her debut - Ric Wake, Rhett Lawrence and Narada Michael Walden. (Wednesday 13 September 2023; 00:26)

Crybaby (103,450) by Bobby A from United States Crybaby was genius Mariah at her best. It has elements of hip hop, R&B, New Jack, and jazz all in one song. What other contemporary female artist has done that multiple times over. She doesn't receive enough credit for being a damn good songwriter. Her vocal acrobats and diva persona cause her songwriting skills to take a back seat sometimes. Timmy Gatling's creative differences with Aaron Hall of Guy brought me here because MC had the same creative differences.with Sony over Crybaby's release. Let’s hope that with the added confidence of looking her best she starts to focus on giving us some new music and working on those vocals. Then one day in the studio she realized it was too gospel for the album. Tommy probably helped her decide too. Music Box the album is a very orchestrated piece of art. The mixes and song choices were carefully thought about to make a cohesive album. This is really why every song flowed into each other like a woven piece of cloth. It's not by coincidence that Music Box is her biggest selling album. Tommy was not going to let MC's third album be subjected to the criticism and low sales like Emotions. Music Box - 30th anniversary (103,418) by Libra Lamb from USA I also have a new found appreciation for Music Box, it was never my most played album, but with these new gems it makes me want to listen to it over and over again. I'm loving it and am so happy with these unreleased songs finally seeing the light of day, old and new fans can appreciate the hard work that went into these recordings. I also noticed that only with the release of new MC music this board is happy and peaceful, without new music things can get a bit aggressive and confrontational. MB30 (103,403) by Randy from USA Hey fam. I've been busy since I have a new teaching assignment this year. So I finally listened to the new music. I have to say. I am excited you all are excited. But I don't like My Prayer or Workin Hard. Mariah sounds incredible but what would you expect for '93? I just don't like the songs and understand why they were left on the cutting room floor. Hero 2009 had my attention on the first verse and chorus. She sounds absolutely breathtaking. Pun intended. I didn't like the 2nd verse at all. Ima stick with the Never Too Far/Hero Medley as my definitive version. I am not being a negative Nancy, I was summoned by Robert. And to a lesser extent Edward. It just amazes me how she works her magic regarding her phrasing, vocals, lyrics, and sequencing. She is always on point with all four and always amazes us with them. No wonder she and Walter A. worked so well together. I wish they would reconcile at least to produce an album of reimagined or extended mixes of their best work together. Workin Hard x My Prayer x All I Live For x Hero 09 (103,393) by Edward from USA The same sentiment here. "All I Live For Extended" is just brilliant. I don't know why she cut it off and put that short lived whistle at the end on "The Rarities". "My Prayer" was executed beautifully, vocally and emotionally, but I can understand why "Without You" was chosen, it sounds more current even today. As for "Working Hard", I'm still getting used to it, but I like it. Obviously I had to replace "All I Live For" with the extended version on "The Rarities", what a difference. Tommy's thoughts about MC30 (103,408) by Bobby A from United States I was thinking today after looking at the album cover Mariah Carey. What are Tommy's thoughts in 2023 about MC's remarkable career? Does he have any regrets about how he kept such tight reins on MC? Does he have any regrets about marrrying MC? Was he trying too hard to mirror the record label executive relationship that Clive Davis and Whitney Houston had? Whatever he was trying to mirror worked extremely well until the music relationship became a physical relationship. I think the Emotions and Music Box albums were all about that physical relationship. The evidence is substantially real in Emotions, So Blessed, Music Box, Now That I Know, and I've Been Thinking About You. They were all about Tommy. (Sunday 10 September 2023; 05:56)
