TEOM 20 (108,549) by BFF from United States It looks like we are getting the full 20th anniversary release on Saturday, April 12 for the actual 20th anniversary of the original release date. I checked Apple Music, and it looks like the re-release is a two-disc set. Disc two, the one with all of the bonus material, has 21 tracks on it. We will be getting lots of goodies on 4/12/25. As much as I loved Mariah growing up, this album truly made me a huge fan of hers. Now with that being said, I'm going to need Mariah to reach into that vault and find a hidden demo or track from that album. Lol. I'm excited to hear the a capella version of Circles, but other than that, everything else is just remixes. Many of them have been released or leaked years ago. I was really hoping for something new. I find it interesting that she got through Merry Christmas 30th anniversary and then this switch. Maybe that was the last Sony reissue anniversary addition being released. And now she's going to do the Universal albums so she's signed back with them? That would mean no Daydream 30. But we did get Daydream 25, Butterfly 25 and Rainbow 25. So in one way there is no need for anymore Sony reissue anniversary additions. Now she can focus on TEOM 20, EMC2, Memoirs, The Elusive Chanteuse and Charmbracelet. Favorite Mariah Hip-Hop collaborations (108,481) by BFF from United States I was talking to someone the other day about how I felt the ODB version of "Fantasy" is a bit overrated and played out. It's the one that everyone knows - I actually quite like the original version and the House remix more. Though I do appreciate the "Me and Mariah go back like babies and pacifiers" line. Surely it would have just been easier to stay friends with Mariah, I'm sure she wouldn't have seen them out of pocket. But no they wanted more and became greedy. Buttery tone (108,444) by Edward from USA Bobby A, a "buttery" voice refers to a smooth, fluid, warm, and rounded vocal quality. Most of Mariah's '90s catalog is filled with it. Some examples, just to pick a few, include Vanishing, Till the End of Time, Can't Let Go, Music Box, Underneath the Stars, Lead the Way, Open Arms, Melt Away, and Everything Fades Away. Albums like Daydream, Music Box, Merry Christmas, and Butterfly are basically the epitome of a beautiful buttery voice. Sadly, by 2002, only traces of that buttery voice were still there. And before some of y'all try to nail me to a cross next to Oprah and Gayle, I'm not saying she couldn't sing, she absolutely could still blow, but the fluidity and seamless transitions between registers just weren't the same. A lot of us complained about the heavy use of the whisper register on Charmbracelet, it's funny that I would take anything from her with even half that quality in a heartbeat. Ribbon (108,446) by BFF from United States I totally agree. "Circles", "Mine Again", and "Stay the Night" all sounded strained and that's why I never cared for those songs. "Joy Ride" was slightly better, but overall, the ballads on the album needed more work.
