It was robbed of the Christmas #1 spot back in 1994. I was devastated at the time and my brother still winds me up about East 17 every Christmas. It would be wonderful if she reached #1. I know Mariah complains about being covered up in the early days etc. Yet when I watch interviews and performances from the Daydream era in particular, she always looked so fashionable and chic. I remember on first listen getting about two thirds through the album and getting very hacked off. That had never happened previously (or since). As the years have dragged by, I now appreciate it on a different level. Lyrically it is up there with Butterfly. It’s got some duds like Boy and some filler, but on the main it’s a good cohesive body of work. (Monday 4 December 2017; 20:26)

Re: #1's (79,477) (79,479) by Bill from the UK Yes, a great compilation. Very lucky, though didn't know it at the time, to be in the UK where DYKWYGT (TFM) was added as a bonus track. That became one of my favourite remakes of hers and I remember paying a small fortune for that rare remix picture disc back in the day. I also loved the "12s" promo record box set that was released at same the time. Apparently Mariah intended to include a second disc of remixes with #1's but it was canned. I think that ended up becoming the 12s boxset. I agree as well, she is particularly beautiful in the Sweetheart video, bring back those earth tones. They suited her colouring so well. I Am Free (Alternative Mix) (79,436) by Bill from the UK Bringing it back to the music for a second (sorry), there is a beautiful alternative version of I Am agree on YouTube. I'm picturing her in a gothic castle on a hilltop, black clouds swirling around, thunder rumbling and lightning striking as she rubs her hands together in evil super villain glee whilst sat at the computer, having successfully catfished poor Ben. If she wanted a sampled vocal on her track, all she would do is put an announcement on her website and she would be inundated with people wanting the opportunity. Or, there are thousands of royalty-free vocal tracks for free use. Also, this was a Def Mix Production, so as to Mariah's personal involvement in it, other than the re-sung vocals, nobody knows. If it's that big an issue, sue her. In summary, what I'm trying to say is, who cares really. (Tuesday 7 November 2017; 11:46)

I can’t hear it on the remix and not sure what all the distortion is either (sorry if that’s your voice lol). Not many people can say they’re sampled on a Mariah song, and lots would love to be able to say that, so if it is the case try looking at it positively. It’s something to tell the grandkids one day.
