Name: Robert-Anthony
Country: United States
I have been a Lamb since 1990. I know Mariah. I love her music. I breathe her music.

Sony Legacy is just not willing to invest in MC and her catalogue anymore. Anniversary and greatest hits collections that have a lot of money invested in them are when artist or band have just had a couple of albums prior that were huge sellers for the label. Me I Am Mariah and Caution were huge disappointments for Island/Def Jam and Epic. I bet MC invested a lot of her money in the vinyl pressing of the $160.00 Butterfly boxset that was sold on her website.

Find that Rainbow's end (102,886) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Wednesday 14 June 2023; 23:24)
Radio wouldn't play it now because it is too cheesy in 2023. MC needs to release something in the vain of Toosi's Favorite Son. The Favorite Son message is what she was conveying in the Rainbow Interlude in 1999. The gospel children's choir reminds me so much of something MC would record and release.

Who is she kidding? (102,880) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Tuesday 13 June 2023; 20:39)
How long can she keep putting on this facade? She doesn't get offers for major endorsements like cosmetics, clothing, and soft drink companies anymore. She has always been known to have the voice.

Is that why the board has been so quiet about her performance? Have you noticed that her hand doesn't go up in air like her early 90's and 2000's performances? It stays very close to her waist now like to say that she is not feeling like she will be able to execute her notes successfully.

Hopes for Mariah’s Pride performance (102,868) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Sunday 11 June 2023; 08:06)
The videos on the web are promising. She sounded better during the Pride performance than the Lovers and Friends performance. I love the Rainbow interlude dance remix with new lyrics. I am just wondering if the hold up for new music has nothing to do with vocal issues, but rather not having a record label.

The Weekend collaboration (102,866) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Friday 9 June 2023; 18:35)
I was going to post about the song yesterday, but got busy headed to the airport. It's called Popular and it is a hot summer song. It also features Playboi Cardi. I like the way Madonna swoops in for her verse like she has been singing R&B all of her life. The beat is something that The Weekend has never done before.

We will probably never see artists like MC, Madonna, Rihanna, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, and Celine Dion 20 years from now with such popularity and wealth.

Whatever happened to MC wanting to collaborate with The Weekend? I just wonder how MC would have sounded on the Die For You remix or even on Out of Time.

I will even take a JD produced track at this point. We have been in a MC drought far too long now. If she really wanted to be honest with all of us, she would sit down with Oprah for a TV special this summer and tell us everything about her voice problems, her feelings about Nick's many kids under 6 years old, and her troubled relationship with her mother and siblings. Oprah would love to let MC tell her story on her terms.

Edward, are you trying to teach the Lambs about angles? The obtuse angle is the smaller angle. Lol. I am cracking up this morning, but also concerned that MC not making a Forbes list is such a hot and contested topic among some Lambs. She will make other lists this year.

Bill, you feel that Infinity was downfall of MC's career, right? MC's career never recovered after that horrible song was released and placed as the lead single on a greatest hits collection. She should have recorded and released a follow up to Vision of Love or something in its vain. Will she ever recover to reclaim her 2005 comeback?

Most artists who are inducted are respected pop artists. When MC moved more into the R&B genre, she made it harder for music industry board members to nominate her for accolades that we as Lambs know she deserves. Remember it was just two years ago that she was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. I believe the Emotions album was a R&B step in the wrong direction too soon. The back and forth from pop to R&B the first 4 albums confused a lot of music industry board members, but radio loved her pop and R&B songs.

The Rarities 2 or something like it (102,809) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Saturday 3 June 2023; 05:03)
MC is going to have to release The Rarities 2 or something like it to get us excited again. I am growing so impatient with waiting on new music that I am listening and purchasing all of Jessie Ware's albums. She is amazing. Her music and artistry reminds me of what I miss about MC. Her 5th album, That Feels Good, is brilliant and the perfect album for a summer party.

Circles remix (102,806) by Robert-Anthony from United States

I love it. It's definitely a Ministry of Sound remix. Their remixes are known repetitive lyrics and altered vocals. I like the Dev Marvelous remix on YouTube better.

Randy follow up (102,793) by Robert-Anthony from United States

According to Wikipedia, the original songwriters were commissioned by Disney. When MC signed on to sing Almost Home, she and producers Stargate changed it a bit and Almost Home became what was released. It's funny the website the Singersroom says that Sia Furler wrote the song with the other songwriters. It does have a Sia influenced melody during the lyrics. Could she be a ghost songwriter on the song? She was extremely popular then as a songwriter.

I am curious see how he wraps the dance beat around her vocals. I love the vocals flaws in Circles as it helps to showcase her heartache and vulnerability in the lyrics.

Best song intro (102,780) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Sunday 28 May 2023; 11:57)
You're so right, Matty. The Bachelorette commercial is what prompted my post. I was moving around cleaning in my living room and I heard the Fantasy intro and MC's iconic voice. I think that Fantasy has been used more in past 5 years in commercials and movies than any other MC song. 1990-1999 will always be the years that non fans will know Mariah Carey for her work and artistry. Cheers to the queen of iconic songs and intros and that voice back then. I hope that we get biopic movie in the next five years played by the Australian singer and actress Tina Arena.

Does anybody know why the U.S. double vinyl release never received an photo cover instead was packaged in a plain white cover with only a hype sticker? It looks like the Japan version received the official single cover.

Rainbow was bigger than Daydream (102,745) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Saturday 20 May 2023; 20:56)
Well, here it is as I promised. I am probably going to get a lot of push back for making this statement. This is why I have made such a bold statement. Rainbow was MC's liberation album. She had creative authority to do what she wanted to on Rainbow. She wanted to fulfill her contractual obligations to Sony Music. So she recorded Rainbow in 6 months. The recording of Rainbow has been her shortest time ever to record an album. The Heartbreaker single Jay-Z feature was a first for MC. It was the first time in her career that another artist was featured on one her lead singles. MC wrote ballads that were closer to R&B than pop for Rainbow. Many of the ballads mirrored sentiments she experienced in her personal life. The first week album sales of 323,000 were the highest in her career at the time. It was the first time a single's remix was featured on the album's initial release. Mariah started this trend that many R&B/Hip Hop have duplicated. It was the first time a Mariah Carey album had two interludes included in the album's tracklisting. The Biana alter ego was introduced. The Heartbreaker video was more expensive than Fantasy. Heartbreaker is one of the most expensive videos ever made costing 2.5 million. Promotion and tour was bigger than Daydream. Agree or disagree?
