The Lovers and Friends and Global concerts were not good vocally when she didn't lip sync to pre-corded tracks. Overall, she sounds better than she did 6 months ago. Either she had sought vocal training or her weight loss has improved her vocal abilities. I feel hopeful for MC to get her new album completed in 2024. Reid influencing him) asks MC to join him on the Superbowl stage. The Superbowl event would add another accomplishment for MC. I do agree with Andrew, Mariah fell after #Beautiful and has been extra careful since. She broke her rib and dislocated her shoulder. The nerve damage she received down her left side got better, but she never stated if it fully healed, only that she did get full movement of her arm back. She's always worn high heels. They've just got higher and some of the corsets she wears aren't good for breath control. I think she's hyper focused on body structure for her diaphragm while hitting notes. First, Def Jam's promotion of it was very poor. L.A. Reid was not happy to hear MC wanted to do a second Christmas album. Second, you can hardly find a used CD copy of it during the holidays. Def Jam didn't produce many copies of the CD. Since 2020, you can find the vinyl version more in the stores. Finally, Merry Christmas will always out perform the sequel because of AIWFCIY. Because even though since 2010 her stage performances became very low energy in terms of movements and dancing, she was never this stiff. Though I'm enjoying some iconic moments from these Christmas shows, I share your thoughts about her recent awkward stiffness and lack of face expresion. She can still sing it's not like when she came out in the nineties but she can still sing her face off. She was even trying to do something a little bit different to let the audience know that hey I can still sing and I am singing live not all was live but most of it was. I would like to know what you guys think. Do you think she was singing live or was she lipping it? Well I love Mariah I have loved her since day one. She is incomparable. Mariah Carey often duplicated never imitated. You guys also have to remember that all these young girls like Christina (42), Britney (41), Jessica (43), Beyoncé (42) and so forth studied Mariah so they can be like her. I often come on this board but hardly ever post anything but when she does a good job I would like to leave a positive message to up lift her. This whole Christmas season already seems off for MC. I think that she has overextended herself with too many dates. Not sure if it's true or completely made up, but that would explain his absence recently and subsequent removal from her Instagram. Or, they may have simply broken up. It happens. As for the Christmas concerts, I'm not even going to waste my time watching the videos. It's the same thing we see every year. Like you all, I fear for Mariah's wellbeing and whatever she is battling. But continuing the charade is not helping anyone. The truth will come out one day I suppose.
