I wonder what made MC commission him to do the remix for DFAU. DFAU is MC's only official double vinyl white cover 12 inch. According Wikipedia, his remixography is impressive. He and Albert Cabrera remixed Duran Duran's Notorious too. It's funny that I am mentioning Tony Moran because I have been on a nonstop mission this summer to visit all of my 12 inch dance vinyl records lately thanks to the Portrait (Hopeful Child Remix). No other female artist since 1990 has ever had a debut album like Mariah Carey. Despite how MC feels about Tommy Mottola and his treatment of her, I wonder does MC think about how impressive her debut was? She really never talks anymore about her debut era or Ben Marguiles. #1 Relevance, new album (106,792) by Randy from USA Let me hop on in here. I have read in a magazine that only a true fan would know the difference between Fantasy, Honey and Heartbreaker. Also, when I used to argue with Whitney Houston stans in the late 90s/early 00s that yes Whitney is consistent on stage but MC has more number 1s, their argument would be most of MCs are forgotten. If you can find a non-fan that knows all of the words to I Don't Wanna Cry or TGIFY I'd be shocked. I'm from the last generation and I'm also a chart nerd. We pushed a lot of number ones by buying physical singles to albums we already had. The airplay was minimal on her song before the single was released. Hell, we do it now. How many times have I come on here to see people begging us to stay up all night streaming something. Now here's where I completely contradict what I just said. I have had a horrible school year and am leaving my present school. So I've been playing death songs on my smart board. You know, One Sweet Day, Crossroads by Bone Thugs. Well, Bye Bye was playing and the office clerk who is half my age ran into my room and started singing it. I was floored. I said what do you know about this song. She said it's among her favorites. Mine too even [though] this board constantly decimates it because it didn't go to number one. That's an argument for another day. I guess my point is there is truth to both sides of the argument. Songs are over pushed by fans (come on you all Loverboy made it to #2) but then there are factors that make a song more relevant than a chart position shows (come on you all Cyndi Lauper's Girls Just Wanna Have Fun stalled at #2). New album. It's so funny because I feel like everyone wants MC to create SZA, HER and Muni Long vibes. I am thinking [Barbra] Streisand, Liza Minelli, Diana Ross. I don't wanna be ageist but Mariah is 55 years old and you all want her on trends with the hottest producers? I do think MC needs to release an album because her fan base grew up on albums. Cardi B can release singles for years continuously promising she's working on an album. Mariah can't do that, hopping on remixes late is kinda silly. But whatever. Carey-on. MC has always collaborated with the hottest producers at the moment since TEOM like The Neptunes, The-Dream and Tricky Stewart, Mike Will Made It, Hit-Boy, and Scott Storch. I am saying if she wants to upgrade her signature sound, then MC is going to have to collaborate with other producers and songwriters who are not necessarily the hottest producer at the moment. I think the days of hottest producer at moment ended with Darryl DJ Camper's and Diplo's reign five years ago. I am going to go ahead and make a prediction for MC16. MC16 will be nominated for eight Grammy awards in 2025 or 2026. MC will finally receive recognition from the Grammys after 30 years in music business. I am really concerned that we won't experience the same sound quality when the remastered audio is transferred to picture disc. I am just not a fan of colored vinyl. Black vinyl produces the best sound. I hope a CD version will be available this fall even though it has not been announced yet. I know Sony wants to capitalize on those picture disc preorders before making a CD announcement. Does anyone know of an online music retailer who will allow you to create a CD online? Remastered Rainbow album (106,762) by Terna from Nigeria First off, I'm loving the attention this album is getting, as it's one of her hidden gems. I played the record on speakers for the first time yesterday, been listening on Airpods all this while. I noticed her voice is placed forward and center, and the sound quality is polished and overall more rounded, with a cleaner sound, than the original version. This makes the ballads pop, the vocals on TGIFY less muddy and reveals parts on the songs one did not catch before, listening to "Bliss" was an experience. Favorite Rainbow track (106,731) by Libra Lamb from USA So I've been really enjoying this new anniversary edition of Rainbow and the song that stood out the most for it's haunting, sincere lyrics and vulnerability is Petals. I absolutely love this song, though it's always been one of my favorites, lately I can really appreciate how beautiful and real it is. Mariah does her best writing when she dives deep into her personal heartaches and lets the pen flow. The Petals Pound Boys remixes are really good too, it's a shame they were excluded from the MC30 releases. Do you have a new favorite Rainbow track? I know it's hard to pick just one. Apparently the nameless producer she was in the studio with all week is not Anderson Paak, although she has recorded stuff with him as well. Insider hinted that it might have been Bruno Mars. I think you've been wanting her to work with him as well right? Apparently Rareties 2 is also to be released this year. If she's still working on MC16, she probably plans to release Rareties 2 later this year to keep us going till MC16. I am not sure if MC30 will be a very big thing. She already did MC25. I am hoping the new album is given like an April 2025 release date. She is probably has something planned for the 30th anniversary for Merry Christmas like an anniversary editon and Christmas shows.
