Article: Mariah shows off physique in sparkling "swimwear" (105,109)

So it's okay to go around spreading hate? I see you are like minded too. It's one extreme versus another. Why can't we just meet in the middle? I'm not saying I agree with the woke movement but there's something to be said about basic human decency lacking. Just let people live their own lives and mind your own business, not you Stacey, but in general. I don't expect everyone here to agree or even understand. One might have to be persecuted for just being different and I don't know anyone here or their background. I will say it's usually Republicans that do the same stuff in hiding that they complain about. Then they get caught and it's all over the news. Go on, deny it. I'll wait.

I don't know if you're a man or a woman. I just know you're TJ from Norway. To be clear, I'm not a woman. And I can see from your comment that your educational system is pitch perfect. Early morning sarcasm. Carry on TJ.

You know TJ from Norway, sometimes finding like minded people doesn't mean you're right. Sometimes it just means there's like minded people. For starters, there was nothing "extreme" in RJ's post, RJ was simply calling it like it is. Wanna talk about how there's people out here that believe Trump won the last election and is the current President here. Now that's extreme. Also there was no mention of Tik Tok and judging from his previous rants, I know for a fact Edward doesn't know much or the meaning of the term woke. You probably don't either. Human decency is what we're actually needing more of.

I cringe every time someone uses the term woke and they don't even know what it means. It's usually the people that think it's okay to say and do whatever they want without being checked.

Will we see a new album this year? (104,987)
by Libra Lamb from USA
| |

Well at least we know she's going to do the best with what she's got. I saw her say that on a video one time. Here's hoping this year she gives us at least one of the new projects she's mentioned in the recent years. I'm not satisfied with just the cookies. We need new music ASAP.

Will we see a new album this year? (104,984)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

What are your thoughts on if Mariah is actually going to drop an album this year? I read a lot of mixed reactions where some people are convinced she is definitely dropping something while others feel like we won't see anything anytime soon. I know some people are hopeful for Mariah's version of "Someone's Ugly Daughter" or the jazz album she has been mentioning. To be honest I don't care much for either of the above, although if she does release it I'll be happy for the lambs that already wanted it. But personally I would love new more mainstream music from Mariah. She's also been looking absolutely stunning and we know Mariah feels most confident with public appearances and performances when she is feeling her best. So I hope we hear something soon. I would also be interested in The Butterfly Lounge documentary but at this point I think she dropped it. I would love for her to document her next album drop where we see her as a songwriter and what goes behind the scenes of recording an album, the videos etc and release it over on streaming along with the album release.

Maybe I am too much to suggest DeVon Frranklin for MC to date, but you have to admit there have been too many hiccups launching her albums since E=MC2. I just scratched my head everytime the wrong single was chosen or an album promotional plan was poorly executed. I want her back on top for MC16. I know deep down in my heart that MC is going to do MC, but I can't help suggest my plan for getting her back on top of the charts.

by Libra Lamb from USA

Or, imagine this, she should go back to dating when she's good and ready to and not when y'all think she should. Also, she should date the kind of person she wants to because no one here knows her well enough to say who she should and shouldn't date. Some of you have a lot of nerve to come here and dictate what she should and should not do. She's a human being, not your Barbie doll. She should also do the kind of music she wants to do, she's the artist after all, and feature rappers on every track of her new album if that's what her heart desires. I know my opinions are unpopular on this board so if someone doesn't like them they can scroll right past them like I do some of y'all.

Charmbracelet (104,852)
by Libra Lamb from USA
| |
|
|
Charmie is one of my favorite albums. Charmbracelet walked so The Emancipation of Mimi could run. This album did not get the love and support that it deserved when it was released. One of the best feelings was getting the South Korea version of the album with the bonus disc and extra songs from eBay. There Goes My Heart anyone? I bought a ton on eBay too. I sure miss the days when I could go to Tower Records or any music store and look for mostly imported albums and singles of Mariah’s releases. Nowadays everything is mostly digital and while I can appreciate that, I miss adding to my collection of rare CDs from her catalogue. Those were the days, I know I sound old but the children today will never know the feelings we would get from finding rare CDs with the remixes and different album artwork.

Songs in the Key of MC (104,851)
by Libra Lamb from USA
| |
|
|
I think that is a great idea. She usually comes up with perfect album titles, except MIAMTEC, but including the fans suggestions she would have a lot more to choose from. I don't like Songs in the Key of MC either, Terna is right, it's too similar to Alicia Keys'. The Elusive Chanteuse would have been good enough for me or The Art of Letting Go even better instead of MIAMTEC. BTW Happy New Year everyone. I hope we get new MC album this year.

Obsessed in the UK (104,598)
by Libra Lamb from USA

The only thing I didn’t like about this era was that We Belong Together blocked Shake It Off from reaching the #1 spot on the BB Hot 100. That aside, everything was on point. I remember seeing the video for It’s Like That on MTV when it premiered and I knew then this was going to be a really different era for Mimi.

For me ILT was pure fire and a powerful start to what we now know was a definitive [record] and [era] in her whole career. I always say the stars [aligned] just for Mariah in 2005, but she also hit the ground running with that January release. Then came the song of her career "We Belong Together". Everything about "The Emancipation Of Mimi" was well planned, well executed and came out better than expected. I hope just one last time she can recreate an era as successful as that time, if anything for the new generation of Lambs.

Oh Santa original vs JHud/Ariana version (104,394)
by Libra Lamb from USA
| |
|

I personally like the solo version better, but that goes for all of her songs. I prefer her singing solo, with the exception of I'll Be There and a few of her other songs, I don't know if it's because it's always been her and Trey Lorenz on that song. Just my two cents, I'm not trying to disrespect anyone she has had the pleasure of working with.

What's everyone's opinion on this? It's interesting that the JHud/Ariana collab didn't do much to the song. I personally thought their voices didn't blend so well, and there's no chemistry between them on the video. It wasn't cute or engaging. But we said the same with the AIWFCIY collab with Bieber.

I'm happy with the success she's had with that song already, let someone else have number 1. It's not like it's not been there already. Christmas songs are so competitive these days, but at least Mariah has a song that's considered one of the last classic Christmas songs.

What are some things that some of you have done because you saw Mariah did or liked? I have a few so I'll go first. When Mariah listed Four Christmases as one of her favorite Holiday movies I had to watch it even though I don't care much for Reese Witherspoon or Vince Vaughn. It was an okay movie. Also I bought her AIWFCIY plushie after I saw hers on her mantle or something like that on one of her social media posts. It was so fetch.

I'm quite curious to read everyone's opinion. For 2024, would you rather have Mariah releases a 10 to 12 tract Rarities 2 album, where half of the songs are never before heard songs, or would you rather see here release a brand new 10 to 12 song studio album?

I agree with most of these tracks except I don't care to hear Justin Timberlake or want Mariah associating with him. He's a snake and has done some shady ish towards women. I can't stand people like him, a true culture vulture. There For Me has always been one of my favorites and I include it in my Glitter soundtrack playlist.

Merry Christmas 4 All would also be funny and fitting. She can do no wrong when it comes to album titles, except for Me. I Am Mariah, the Elusive Chanteuse, which is my least loved album and title. I would absolutely love another Christmas album with a mix of classics and original songs. Nothing remixed or reworked though. I don't think there is anything anyone can do to stop AIWFCIY from charting high every year. The song is bigger than anything during the Christmas holidays. Bigger than Santa Claus even. Mariah has hijacked the holiday and she's not giving it back. She'll be 80 years old and still doing her annual Christmas concerts.

No, just no she's over doing the Christmas thingy and it could easily backfire and have everyone tune out mentally on her Christmas offerings, including AIWFCIY. I sure hope she isn't cooking up another Christmas album. That would be overkill. The only thing Christmas themed I would want to hear from her is an official recording of "Away in a Manger" with Roe Roe and her own version of "Where are you Christmas". Mariah dear, absolutely no new Christmas albums for you.

Parents still have the option of providing a smartphone and internet to their children. If it were my kid, I'd buy them a straight up phone without the internet and actually monitor my kid to protect them. It's up to each parent out there and how much they care about protecting and monitoring their young ones. Providing internet and monitoring children is absolutely an option. Problem is the parents don't want to parent anymore, they're too wrapped up in social media themselves like it's more important than the kids. I know this might trigger some people out there but it's just an observation and my "dated" opinions.

"It's not Sam Smith's responsibility to protect children, that's what their parents are for." Libra Lamb, I usually agree with your points of view except this one. That argument is very dated especially in the smartphone/social media age we live in today, with the entertainment industry practically inescapable. Audio and video streaming are at kids' fingertips with just a simple click most notably YouTube. Sam Smith went from being a respectable singer who came across as super talented, to straight up gender confused clown show, kinda like what happened with Miley Cyrus and the world immediately tuned off and out on those two. To think there was much a do about Mariah dressing sexy in the late 90's, when compared to the stunts pulled by today's acts she would be Mary Poppins. The difference is Mariah did hers with class and never crossed the line, Sam Smith and Miley did in a very repulsive way.

As wrong or weird in almost everything you've ever said, as you are - you are correct in one thing: if Sam Smith were not obese and unattractive I may just appreciate a performance he puts on. But he is obese and unattractive and puts on vulgar performances viewed by minors and I don't like it.
In fact, many people don't like it. If he puts himself out there doing it - people are going to voice opinions on it. Being so-called "queer" does not make absolve you of responsibility over your actions.
So your ad hominem attacks won't work with me. What does work is exercise, so hop to it, now, sweetheart: you're not in the Fitness Protection Programme. Keep running from the Carbs.
