Re: Mariah Carey shelved projects (86,849) (86,874) by DivergentIntel from United States
Yes. Angels Advocate is definitely one shelved project that we know about. Angels Advocate is said to not have been released because Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel album underperformed or did not do as well she hoped it would have or should have supposedly. It is also very likely that the Angels Advocate remix album was not released last minute or shelved because of complications with miscarriages and her trying to get pregnant. Notice that she and Nick Cannon tried to get pregnant from the beginning of her marriage and how much of an ordeal she had to deal with and go through just to give birth to Roc and Roe.

There are other shelved projects that Mariah Carey has spoken about or ideas presented that never went through. Mariah Carey was supposed to release some sort of VHS or DVD of Daydream tour to be released in December 1996 or January 1997 in Japan or possibly the USA or worldwide even, but some speculate that such was not released at last minute because it is alleged that Mariah Carey walked out on Tommy Mottola on just shortly before Christmas 1996.

1996 I believe would have been a good year for Mariah Carey to release Evita had she starred in it. Fall 1996 release date for the movie and soundtrack would have been perfect for Mariah Carey. I also believe if Mariah Carey had released an urban influenced or hip hop influenced remixes album in 1996, it would have been a good move, or something to hold or glue fans until she released her 1997 Butterfly album.

I think if Mariah Carey released a Christmas album every 2 years in the 90s, that would have been a good career move too.

Mariah Carey revered (86,846) by DivergentIntel from United States
Is it just me or am I the only one who thinks that Mariah is the girl everyone loves to hate, and/or also the girl everyone hates to love. I feel like this sums up her existence and being since her career debut.

Mariah Carey shelved projects (86,845) by DivergentIntel from United States
Hey has anyone ever wondered if Mariah Carey was going to release some sort of album in 1996? According to reports that exist out there, Mariah Carey was considered a contender for the lead role in Evita. Mariah Carey would have been perfect for that role and possibly could have won an Oscar for it. Given her situation at the time a la Tommy Mottola and her personality, and had she been given more actual acting roles, I think she would have knocked it out of the ballpark. She could have won an Oscar or a Tony back in 1996, 1997, 1998 etc. This would have been great image wise and career wise and would have made 1996 a year in which she could have had something released and increased album sales. Another project I believe was shelved by Mariah Carey was possibly a Christmas album in the year 2000. Notice how she was supposed to release Where Are You Christmas? and the Holy Night music video in 2000 and also the All I Want For Christmas Is You remix song that had the cartoon music video with voice contributions from Lil Bow Wow and Jermaine Dupri SoSo Def etc?

Mariah Carey album sales discrepancy (86,844) by DivergentIntel from United States
Hello there to all my fellow lambs. I could not help but wonder if Billboard changes or rewrites history or changes the stats it reports. In the annual reporting of each years sales usually posted in January after the entire year that passed is over look at the tabulation sales. In January 1994, it was reported that for her Music Box album, it is said to have sold 3.3 million in 1993 alone for USA sales according to Billboard/Nielsen. Then in January 1995, it was reported that Music Box had sold 2.7 million for the year of 1994 in USA sales alone. 3.3 + 2.7 = 6 million plus. That means that she had sold over 6 million plus in USA sales alone for Music Box in the USA by January 1995 according to Billboard/Nielsen. Also, another thing I am wondering, in these respective reports which were included in Billboard Magazine every January, were these including BMG Music Club store sales etc or did it exclude that from the tabulation? As of November 2018, Music Box is reported to have sold 7.3 million copies in the USA. In 1995, Daydream is reported to have sold 3.9 million copies for USA sales alone. In 1996, Daydream is reported to have sold 3 million copies. That means that by January 1997, Daydream had sold well over in excess of 6.9 million copies. Daydream is said as of November 2018 to have sold 7.7 million copies, although it should be surpassing the 7.8 million mark. Does that tabulation include BMG Club sales and music club store sales or not? Butterfly is said to have sold 2.1 million in 1997 in the USA. In 1998, it is reported to have sold 1.3 million in the USA. That means that by January 1999, it sold over 3.4 million copies. Butterfly today as of November 2018 is said to have sold over 3.8 million copies according the report coverage on her Career sales recently done by Billboard/Nielsen. Rainbow is reported to have sold over 2.1 million in 1999 at lin the USA alone. I can't seem to find a report for how much Rainbow sold for the entire year of 2000, but I suspect it was at least 1 million if not more. In November 2018, it is reported that Mariah sold 2.9 million copies of Rainbow in the USA. The reason why I question what Billboard has reported recently versus the past is because they have become questionable with how they report and edit or change criteria or rules. Remember how Mariah Carey is among the top 2 most awarded/rewarded artists with most Billboard Awards alongside Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson. Yet, in recent years, Billboard has been saying that they only have like 14 or lesser numbers. What are your thoughts on this my fellow Lambs.

Mariah Carey promotions etc (41,771) by DivergentIntel from United States
I also think she should do American Idol or X Factor but with the right panel team. X Factor USA got cancelled but I think they should do one more season as a farewell and they could have Mariah Carey as a judge and mentor and on the panel lol. Anyway, I think fans need to do our part and promote her to the top of charts to her rightful royalty and crown. Look at Beyonce. Even when Beyonce releases mediocre work, her fans promote her shit for her like crazy. Beyonce does not have to do any work because her fans are like a unified body that makes sure to keep her on top. Beyonce can just shake her a$$ and twirl her weave and that's all it takes lol and smh. Mariah needs us to keep her on top. If Mariah's music is good then she will chart well. But we have to support her by streaming and requesting airplay. Mariah Carey didn't have to promote anything from January 1990 to September 1997. That was her grace period before the tide started working and turning against her and Tommy Mottola and his minions were sabatoging poor Mimi. As for Glitter, I think Mariah should release a Glitter 2 movie and a Glitter 2 soundtrack. Mariah could win every award including Oscar for best motion picture song and film. Mariah should get a Tony award for success in stage plays in Broadway lol. I really think Mariah should put Glitter on Broadway. The music and theatrics of it are like a blockbuster mine and gem for stage plays and drama and Broadway.

Mariah Carey singles update (41,770) by DivergentIntel from United States
I really liked the "Bring It On Home" and "Almost Home" singles/songs. Why didn't she heavily promote those songs and perform them?

Damn (41,769) by DivergentIntel from United States
I'm looking at some of the comments and some of you all be hating lol. We need to be united and express opinions without being disrespectful. People can agree to disagree. Mariah doesn't want to see the lambily fighting. Come on now, you all should know better. And as I like to say, any negativity sent my way will in fact get returned right back to it's original sender.

MC and Allure (41,706) by DivergentIntel from United States
Mariah is a master lyricist and talented songwriter. She doesn't get enough recognition or widespread standout acknowledgment for her songwriting contributions. People are still in the dark about homegirl's songwriting. Mariah puts the glossaries, dictionaries, and thesaurus to work. Her vocabulary is amazing, along with her flow and use of words and memorizing melismatic talent and energy. I know you all remember this MC penned throwback hit song/single "Last Chance", which again was written, produced and composed by Mariah Carey.

MC interview cliché observation (41,701) by DivergentIntel from United States
Does anyone ever notice how in some interviews MC sometimes blames the delay or pushback for her long awaited album on her broken ribs and broken arm and broken shoulder incident? I keep saying to myself that's a frigging lie because she had announced a few days to nearly a week before she broke her arm, ribs, and shoulder that she had decided to pushback the album and made a big announcement, so the broken body parts sling arm excuse is very dishonest (in)convenient excuse on her part if I may opine or add. I love MC, but that is just something on my mind I wanted to point out here lol. This is not to bash MC at all, just pointing out something so don't take anything said or posted the wrong way.

Mariah Carey starring appearance in Tanning Of America (41,699) by DivergentIntel from United States
MC is starring main interviewee featured on the TOA: ONUHH Documentary series on VH1 all this week on each for the series as she is a focal point on her contributions to pop culture, music, history, as well as hip hop and things as it relates to race, identity and her being mixed race/ethnicity in connection with mainstream America and the globe and mutual impact and perceptions on society. Lambs, do any of you ever notice how non lambs or insecure and ethnocentrists nit pick Mariah Carey's race amd ethnicity? Also does it bother you how MC musical repetoire has been questioned, as people try to racially categorize her music? It's ridiculous IMHO. I also hate the fact that people can't respect the fact that MC is a mixed race multiethnic woman. MC is Venezuelan, African American, and Irish, and there is possibly most likely Cuban and Alabama Creole, Louisiana Creole heritage as well, as Native American. I've done some genealogy and research on files and government records and family history lol. But anyway, point being is that Mariah Carey is not one thing over the other. She is mixed. She can be any given thing at any given time because that is what fluidity of identity entails. I don't get why people can't accept that Mariah is all of what she is and none of it at the same time. One drop rule only existed from 1931 to 1967. Not before or after. People like Mariah have existed in the USA and on planet earth since ancient times and it's common in the USA of course and has always been.

Mariah updates February 2014 (41,534) by DivergentIntel from United States
Pepemill said it best. I couldn't agree more. I have been saying for quite some time now that Mariah should go completely independent. Also usually when Mariah makes good music, it will chart well. Bring It On Home I felt should have been a hit single if she had released it to actually chart. Mariah needs to do an album that shows the real her and is a diverse body of work, as in something like Daydream or Glitter which are lyrically standout content among others from within her illustrious successful career. I hope that this is not Mariah's last album. I'll be disappointed if this is true. She needs to make better decisions in terms of taking advantage of opportunities and promotion of her ventures and music. Independent would have been the best thing for her. She needs to take advantage of that. Mariah also needs a new look. Needs to change things up a bit like a metamorphosis. I'll always love MC. She is just so special, unique, extra and appealing. So I await all that is to come from queen MC.

Updates on Mariah and Lambily (40,250) by DivergentIntel from United States
MC's performances at the Christmas Rockefeller special this year in my opinion was much better than 2012. She stepped up her game. It was great. Her vocals were so much better for 2013. Ok, does anyone know when her appearance on the Michael Bubl&eactue; special airs? Someone please let me know. Lastly, I've been saying this for years, but why hasn't Mariah Carey decided to go the route of independent. She should just do a completely independent and self employ herself like Macklemore, without the help of a big corporate record label. That way, Mariah can keep all of the profits and cut out the middle man and not have to deal with the BS. Mariah should have did that after fleeing Sony. She still can have access to top notch songwriters and producers. Also doesn't she own the rights to her Sony music back catalogue? Also I wish she would release her unreleased material and hidden stuff from Glitter era and other eras. Feel free to answer and share thoughts on these matters fellow Lambily. Thanks.

Mariah Carey: Art Of Letting Go (39,852) by DivergentIntel from United States
Would any of you fellow lambs out there be nice enough to post a link to the new updated version of The Art Of Letting Go? I heard the original but I want to hear the new finished version. Thanks. Now in regards to MC's image, I think she should lose weight, because she has gained weight over the years. She needs to fix up her body shape and lose some weight. I also think she should do a more natural or new hair color and she needs new wardrobe and attire and fashion stylist. I also think she needs a new hairstyle. She should try short hair. She needs to be more classy with occasional sensual and sexual appeal tastefully and classfully.

It's not bad. Mariah's capable of better, but this is an ambitious effort. So I accept it. The song will grow on me eventually I'm sure. I already remember the lyrics word for word lol.

Vocal peak / vocal ability debate (39,531) by DivergentIntel from United States
This horse has been beaten to death many times, yet of course in the lamb universe it still seems to get talked about lol. Anyways, I must say that there is a big difference between your voice changing and losing your voice. Many people claim Mariah lost her voice. She certainly hasn't lost it at all. Her vocal tonality/tone is the same but it's the texture that has changed. I've always been curious as to how Mariah changed her vocal technique or style slightly. It seems as if in every era Mariah changes her sound slightly but I've been curious as to why. I honestly believe that Mariah changes her voice on purpose more so to be versatile. I also think that she doesn't like to sing in full voice because she has become a big star and doesn't have to prove it and her previous best works help speak and sell for her and her name. As for Mariah's vocal peak, it's so hard to choose. I'd say that 1990 to 2005 were her absolute vocal peak period. However I'd say Daydream was her vocal peak and where she reay branched out as an artist and with integrity and legacy.

Mariah Carey and record label issues (39,470) by DivergentIntel from United States
IMHO, I think MC should go completely independent. That way she cuts out the middle man and gets all of the profits. Macklemore is completely independent with no record label backing him and look at his success. Mariah Carey has an empire and lots of resources and her name alone to further establish and further her career. That way there is no more fighting or stress with big record labels and companies.

Kelly Price controversy (39,317) by DivergentIntel from United States
I was always curious if MC was the intended victim or target on KP's tweet. The only other person I could thi k of that KP was talking about if she wasn't referring to MC, is that maybe KP was talking about Whitney Houston perhaps? I wish KP would be 100% honest with herself and with others for change but for now it is what it is.

Ben Marguiles (39,312) by DivergentIntel from United States
I've always wondered if MC and Ben Marguiles could ever reconcile and work with each other again? They are also a magic duo with magical brilliant musical results as we saw on MC's debut album. Ben Marguiles also was in a relationship with MC also.

MC vocals (39,287) by DivergentIntel from United States
I'm guessing that since she hired new management and took over and took control over her image and career that it perhaps put more stress on her and which meant less sleep and more independence that it probably took it's toll on her and thus vocals were not as good or the same as the past. Remember that MC uses humidifiers which she got as advice from Luther Vandross to have better clearer vocal performances along with ample rest.

Re: Mariah Carey vocals (39,286) by DivergentIntel from United States
I have a feeling that Mariah Carey changed her tonality or vocal style slightly on purpose during the making of Butterfly. Even Daydream had certain slight differences but it still kept the vain of the deep rich sultry and powerful soaring beltings and vocal belt. I believe MC wanted to try to change it up a bit. Also if you notice a lot of artists who become big or established will eventually under sing or downplay their vocals at times or work less hard in having to prove etc since they can live off their positive great past or their name alone can do the trick or sell all on it's isn't by itself. It's hard to explain. It's like as if MC's voice sounds the same but at the same time it is not or does not sound the same if you know what I mean. Do you all get me or what I am trying to say? I think the only thing that has changed slightly is MC's image and being slightly more sexy and more outgoing and upbeat as time has progressed. Mariah can still sing outstandingly. I just want to know why she changed her vocals slightly or if it was on purpose. It just seems awkward that someone like MC who got lots of rest and had mega support and her dealings handled for her by her then husband Tommy Mottola and his and his fellow friends management team would automatically have a vocal change like that.

Mariah Carey's vocals (39,272) by DivergentIntel from United States
This may ruffle a few feathers, but I've always been curious about what happened to Mariah Carey's voice beginning with the onset of the Butterfly era beginning 1997. I notice that Mariah Carey's background vocals and features on Babyface albums were pitch perfect and elastic and even on her protege all female singing group "Allure", MC's vocals were perfect as ever. But as soon as Honey was released and as the live performances of that era followed and after the vocal performances were not flawless or the same as pre 1997. During the Butterfly world tour she didn't have the same exact voice as in her previous world tours and live shows or appearances. Also you notice more of a whisper register and hissing in her voice and breathy vocals which was not necessarily noticeable pre August 1997. I have a feeling that MC chose to alter her vocal style slightly to rebel against her bosses and execs and the establishment on purpose. I don't think that a person's voice can automatically just change like that within a year. Slight vocal change on the Butterfly album is evident and different in vocals slightly than that displayed on her previous efforts. Don't get me wrong. Mariah always sang excellently and still has probably the best vocal talents and abilities especially given her wide +8 octave vocal range. But I'm just curious on the discrepancy and controversy over her voice. Feel free to respond and share your thoughts fellow lambs. I'm looking forward to the discussion.
