I love R&B and Hip Hop, but I listen to any genre of music as long as the song is great. Love saaaanger/songwriters. I'm not a "yes" fan but I do give credit when its due.

Re: New music (101,106) (101,109) by RJJ12 from USA I think she's pregnant. Maybe I'm wrong. In the last pics I saw of her, every single one she is using something to cover her stomach. In one pic you can see Tanaka hand her a fan. It would make sense since everything stopped all of a sudden. All these hints to something coming in late March/April and then radio silence. If she is, congrats to her, if not, hopefully we will get some new music next year, because it doesn't seem like anything other than Christmas merch is coming our way this year. Re: Mariah and Luis duet (101,018) (101,021) by RJJ12 from USA I agree Bill that the song may have been After Tonight. David Foster produced that one and Diane Warren helped co-write it. I would have loved to be a fly in the wall to see Luis Miguel confronted David Foster about the auto tune and flat out cancel the duet. I also think they when that idea fizzled out it was the same song Mariah asked Toni to duet on Rainbow and Toni ending up having to turn her down as it was during her label issues with Arista. Re: Mariah and Luis duet (101,015) (101,017) by RJJ12 from USA The Whitney/Enrique duet was really good. Such a romantic song. It fit both of their voices. From Luis Miguel's TV series on his life, he was having vocal issues when recording the duet. The song didn't really seem suitable for his voice (per the show he was also drinking during the session which is death to the chords). Mariah told him he sounded flat, which sent him into a tailspin. Mariah and David Foster were talking in the booth, it's assumed they discussed using auto tune to "fix" the flaws. When Luis heard the final product he noticed and laid into David Foster (who is a very arrogant producer). Years later Luis released the duet and replaced Mariah with Celine. The shade. I wish her team would have noticed a trend and tightened up security. Might be an inside job. Glad they weren't there when it happened. I hope nothing irreplaceable was taken. In April right before the Masterclass she seemed to be in great shape sitting in the pool in that skin tight red dress. She hinted towards a project coming out at the end of April (possibly the Butterfly Room). I think something happened that put a stop to her releasing the project. Something beyond her control. I think she spiraled into depression and indulged in stress eating, especially if the powers that be put a stop to the release of her new project. I hope she takes care of herself. It’s too bad that labels will only invest in her Christmas music/projects. (Monday 8 August 2022; 16:20)

She might redo it with duets like she did with [The Roof]. It might be interesting depending on who she duets with and how she restructures the songs. It was all about the r&b and hip hop collabs in 2002, which is funny because she helped popularize it in 95. [...] This was the peak of this formula. The record company should have went with "You got me" as the first single. It was up tempo, the guitar riff was infectious, and it had Jay [Z] on it. The second single should have been Clown to capitalize on the Eminem beef. It would have been played out of sheer curiosity. When TTR and BOTHB were seldomly played, both times the radio DJ stopped the songs mid way and said, I love Mariah but her songs are two [sic] slow and old fashioned. Damn. Re: GOATS and Lambs (100,635) (100,640) by RJJ12 from USA I'm an OG lamb from Vision of Love days. I've spend endless amounts of time and money towards my love for this lady's music. But not all of us OGs are going to come on here and bash her saying she's an embarrassment and why won't she use her money and resources to get help. That's all some fans do. Bash what's left of this lady and kick her while she is down. And claiming that they do so because they've been there from the beginning is just BS. Not everyone feels that way that is an OG. I rather celebrate what's left and pray she pulls herself out of whatever she is struggling with. She's 50, which is around the same age that Whitney died (48), Michael (50) and Prince who almost made it to 60 (57). If she continues down this path, she doesn't have much time left. When you were at your very bottom of your addiction and your illness, would it have helped having a bunch of people judge you and tell you that you know better. Or would someone with a kind and open heart offering to pray for you and giving you words of motivation and encouragement a better solution. Would it had helped if everyone gave up on you because "you knew better?" It's obvious that you surround yourself with negative people and your heartless post is proof of that. A "friend" gleefully sending you a video of someone in a very bad place sounds like toxic energy I would never have around me in this day in age. I protect my peace. Had I been as petty and childish as that Beyoncé fan, I would have sent all of Billboards top ten listings since 2006 because she's been missing the list since her sophomore album. Someone put her on the back of a milk carton. And to bring up who you know is still on here, but playing dumb to cover for him. No one's convinced. I would never align myself with someone who asks the poster that gave Mariah his grandmothers diamond necklace for their e-mail only to reveal a private interaction between them on this board when it's obvious that kid had mental health issues just to embarrass him and for likes. That's gotta be a new kind of low. Nope, I'm not interested in kicking anyone when their [sic] down. And I refuse to align myself with toxic people. More importantly, I have compassion inside seeing someone on a stage who is obviously in a very bad place. The last time she had gained this much weight, disheveled, and displayed a mixture of alcohol and pills was that stupid tour she had to do since MIAM flopped so that the record company could recoup the money they invested in financing that project. I was positive we were going to lose her then. Then again during her Stella years. I don't put this lady on a pedestal nor do I crucify her poor choices. I pray for her. That God helps her find the strength that she has written about from her faith to pull through, because, one day, she will succumb to her vices, and not be with us anymore. I would hate to see that happen to someone whose lyrics brought so much joy and strength to get me through some dark times. How about alcoholism and mixing it with meds is a recipe for disaster. How about, she's backsliding into dangerous territory when she was managed by Crustella. Every grown adult knows better. Yet, we lose people everyday to alcoholism, mental illness, and mixing pills with alcohol. I pray that Mariah gets clean. That she goes to rehab and goes back to her Bible studies and stays true to what she learned when she took her intensive courses and God made the impossible happen and blessed her with a second run at the top in 2005. Something is not right. Instead of judging her, I'm going to pray for her. I don't know her at all and it's obvious she is far from the watered down image Sony sold us. I would hate to wake up tomorrow reading that the lady whose music brought me so much joy died succumbing to addiction. Michael, Whitney, Prince. It's sad that losing "stars" to their addiction is so common. If I was in the throws of addiction. I would hate to have any judgmental people around. It was a horrible battle and we had to get involved many times. Not everyone is strong enough to do it on their own. Many people relapse. Many people don't make it. It's painful to see her like that. But y'all crucify the lady. She's 50, way past her prime and is still among us. Michael, Prince, and Whitney all died succumbing to their substance abuse. If the same happens to her, you all going to come here and bash her, saying she deserves it. I don't hear any of their fans bashing them for their life choices or their flaws. These artists are human, not God. Lambs are the only ones critical of this lady, wishing for comebacks that are not going to happen. Instead of bashing her, why not pray for her. All I see is judgement. "She has all this money, all these resources." Rich people are some of the saddest people in the world. Money doesn't solve everything, but God can. Not a single prayer for this lady. If she passes an untimely death, please keep your crocodile tears. God, not money, is the answer. Matthew 7:1 "Do not judge, or you will be judged." Mariah has two modes. When she is coherent and taking her meds and they are working, we get speeches like the Billboard one. When her bipolar disorder kicks in, we get the speech she gave at the SWHOF. Please educate yourselves and google manic episode in google for bipolar disorder. Do you all think that this is something that just went away when she was diagnosed in 2001? Are we really judging someone's behavior due to their mental health disorder? So rich coming from "fans" who claim to be educated and faultless. Do better, be better. Stop trolling and judging for thumbs up on a fan board. Mariah Carey Masterclass (100,172) by RJJ12 from USA The first three episodes are on her YouTube page. My favorite on is how to produce using your voice. This masterclass exceeded all my expectations and is one of the best things she has ever done. Her team should use clips from this masterclass to promote her. It feels like a re-introduction of Mariah Carey to today's music audience. I can't wait for The Butterfly Room. (Friday 15 April 2022; 15:59)

The Roof feat Brandy (100,162) by RJJ12 from USA I like it. Doesn't stray away from the original much at all. The backgrounds, ad libs, and Brandy's parts sound so lush. The only thing I don't like is Mariah's new lead vocal. Sounds dry and course in some parts, just like the BER lead when she sings the first verse.
