You are just such a sweet member of the board and your messages are always great. As for the picture, I remember you said before that you loved it and I really do love it too. It's one of her greatest shoots. As for the cover, I figured since she used a new unused picture for the cover of the original #1's, she should use a new one for this one too and then use older pictures for a booklet. But ya well I guess she can keep it as the official cover, it wouldn't be the end of the world and she does look the right about of gorgeous and sexy in it. But ya at least I just want her to use new shoots for interviews and the other album we keep hearing about. I wonder when we'll see the new official cover for the #1's album and the new single cover. April 27th just can't come fast enough. I do hope she leaves us breadcrumbs here and there in terms of album details or promo shots to keep us tied over until the single drops. I mean she had so many great photoshoots after that. But like last year remember when she was suddenly on the cover of 2-3 magazines? And apart from Wonderland most of them were old photos? That gets me annoyed. She does look good on the Vegas cover though and her picture inside with the white dress has always been a favourite shoot of mine. (Friday 10 April 2015; 1:42)

Photoshoots (51,526) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Ya well it's not only the cover but even the picture inside of the white dress that is from a shoot from Emancipation era. This bugs me. I don't get why Mariah is digging up old pictures for recent interviews. She did the same in last year's magazine spreads. All of the pictures were from older shoots. She looks fabulous, why not just go for new shoots? When I buy a magazine, I like a new shoot accompanied with it. The pictures are almost as important as the interview for me. As much as I love the black and white shot from the E=MC2 era that she is using for her #1's promo, I seriously hope the actual album cover will be different and from a recent shoot. Is she changing up the keys? Will she be singing the 2015 remixed versions? Will there be guest performers? They are really keeping this era under wraps, which is frustrating but I won't complain. It's good that they are building up mystery around this project, dropping just enough hints to get the public intrigued. I hope everything plays out according to plan. (Thursday 9 April 2015; 14:36)

All this while I was whining about when we'll get the new single, but now that we have the date, I just can't wait. I need to hear it, I need to see the video. MC you are killing me here woman. I am getting a feeling that this song will be awesome (although Mariah has rarely, if ever disappointed me with her music) and that this might really be the comeback MC needs. All the recent changes being made in her camp is making me feel positive. Now I just hope they get the publicity right and most importantly, I hope MC nails the vocals at Vegas right. New single, new management? (51,507) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter So Infinity is the new single? I think I read somewhere that it's Faded meets Migrate. Not sure if that's authentic news. But anyways, we have a date. April 27th. Oh gosh, I can't wait. But I read she's heading over to Vegas next week for rehearsals so I don't know when she'll promote it. As for Cindi Berger's departure, I wouldn't be too worried about it. In fact I am glad that things are being shaken up a bit in the Carey camp because she had the same people around her for a very long time and it's apparent that none of them knew how to handle Mariah anymore. I think L A Reid is pushing Mariah to start over with a new team and it's a good thing. She's already hired a new management team. Anyways, I can't wait for the new single. Abraham (51,470) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter That's exactly my concern too. There is basically not much time left. I am wondering each day why there is still no promo at all. Whatever happened to the new single and video? Why are there no more appearances? I thought right before going to Vegas she'd go on some major shows and perform the new single along with one of her #1 (each show will feature a different #1 track, suppose Ellen can have "new single plus Fantasy", Fallon can have "new single plus ABMB" or maybe each shows can have the new single along with a different 3-song medley for each show, so she can cover all 18 songs in 6 appearances). This would probably help get the attention of people that are not familiar with MC music to get interested in her back catalogue and what better way to get all of these gems in 1 CD than the new #1's album? Hence it'll act as a promo for the album and would also encourage fans and non-fans to check out the Vegas shows and also remind/inform them about it in case they had no idea that there is a show happening. If that's true then shouldn't the promotions start right about now? Especially since I am assuming MC will need to relocate to Vegas days or even weeks before her first show. No word on the new single that will carry the album forward. I am getting a little worried. It feels like a deja vu of the MIAM era. I know Sony will do a better job than that and Caesar's team will also be promoting it, but as of now I can't find any scheduled appearances. (Sunday 5 April 2015; 21:58)

Not only has he time and again indirectly insulted Mariah, he kept his mouth shut let his dad say those disgusting things about his wife. Someone asked why would Nick risk his reputation by writing a tell all. Well first of all, what reputation does he really have? And in Hollywood one doesn't require a good reputation, they need controversies. Everyone hates the Kardashians but yet every single day the Kardashians are adding to their huge empire and now they are even accepted in the high fashion A list events where previously they weren't allowed. So yup. Secondly this book deal may have been signed a while back and at that time MC had one bad publicity after another. Plus everyone has always loved hating on MC. So Nick possibly thought people would sympathize with him for putting up within such a major diva. MC is no saint. And she is definitely not perfect but no one deserves to be betrayed like this. Anyways, the book deal is still a rumor and I hope it stays that way, these are just possible reasons for his actions. (Sunday 5 April 2015; 16:44)

But I will not blame Mariah for leaving Nick just because she has abandonment issues and thus shouldn't put her kids through it. Let me first get to Nick. While I completely agree with you that it is quite possible that it is yet a tabloid made up story and Nick isn't writing a book, but that doesn't change the fact that Nick has always been known as a cheater. He cheated on his ex-girlfriends, heck he broke off his engagement to Selita at the first opportunity when MC came to his life. So I will not find it hard to believe that he cheated on Mariah too. So MC doesn't need to stay in a relation where her husband is fooling around and also at the same time talking about extremely private matters so publicly for the world to hear, when he knows very well that MC has always remained close mouthed about her life. Just because a person appears funny and friendly on TV doesn't mean he is the same behind closed doors. I think we have seen enough examples of that in Hollywood and in real life. As for her abandonment issues, that's the not the only reason she had a messed up childhood. Many other factors played in here. Her father leaving was not the only reason she has issues. Plus the world is really advanced now, kids are dealing with divorces all the time. So yes, while kids should be taken into consideration, but if your partner has no respect for your privacy and is possibly cheating on you then there is no reason to stay. A relationship is based on trust and respect. When both are not there, the relationship crumbles. Staying in it will be more unhealthy than getting out. The trust has been gone for a while now it seems because when Barbara Walters asked her if she trusts Nick, she said "sometimes". So yup, I don't know what happened between the two, but judging from Nick's past record and his big mouth, I guess we can put 2 and 2 together and figure out why she possibly decided to walk out. And I am sorry but why does MC have to be the only perfect parent? Nick is getting twerked on by girls, since news broke of them breaking up, Nick has been seen dating half a dozen girls. One needs to give respect to get respect. Nick doesn't deserve it. So no his "fun and friendly" persona is probably just for the cameras. I have personally seen many people who are loved everyone else, but only the people at their homes know their real faces. (Friday 3 April 2015; 16:37)

I don't know if the rumors are true (it does seem possible) but if it is, I hope she shows him what he is worth. I am glad the news came out, it'll show the world what a gold digger he is because he keeps trying to portray and image that he is so nice and a great dad and indirectly gives off the vibes that he left MC because she's a crazy diva. He's a cheater, always has been. Even Christina Milian discovered that and he immediately left Selita for Mariah, obviously he saw where the money was. If Mariah owes him anything (which she does not) I'd say she has paid more than enough. She paid by making him who he is today, because only as Mr Carey did Nick get the fame he boasts of today. She paid by having her career ruined because she eloped in the middle of the follow up of her huge comeback and eventually losing out a lot in the name of love only to get cheated upon. MC is an unfit mother? Well atleast we don't see her being twerked upon by 3 women at the same time and hanging around who*** like Amber Rose and the new girl. MC said stuff about other artists? Well at least she didn't disrespect her spouse multiple times in the media. Nick just needs his name attached to MC because that is the only thing that helps his career. Now that the articles about MC being devastated by the divorce and insecure about Nick's new playmates are dying out and we mainly see a smiling and happy MC, Nick figured his time is up so he decides to blast her with this. 25th year anniversary (51,324) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I do hope that Edward is right and we are indeed going to be bombarded with surprises from Mariah's camp. This is her 25th year in the business, I hope it doesn't go to waste and I pray that nothing happens that tarnishes her status any further. I would really love a surprise documentary. Surprise skits that will go viral and surprise collaborations with current artists. I hope MC has come out of her shell and realized that she is a legend so she doesn't have to feel threatened by younger female artists and that it wouldn't harm her to collaborate with them. Most importantly, I hope that she's in pip condition (vocally) for her Vegas residency. This is her chance to get her throne back and erase all the bad publicity she got in the last few years. People have a short attention span nowadays so if she manages to slay this time, whatever happened before will be forgotten by people or at least the hate will come more diluted. Weight issue (51,293) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Mariah doesn't look overweight really. She's a curvy girl and I'd rather have that over the anorexic ones we see. Plus her main instrument is her voice not her body. Even then, her body is pretty good. It's a wetsuit guys. She's dripping wet, the material is stuck to her. Most people look bad in wetsuits. I just saw a picture of her with Irina Shaikh or whatever her name is and she looks great there. She's probably the same weight she was when she was at Ellen's, it just that she has gone make up free in the past few days, so her face looks a little (little being the key word) big and the camera angles are not helping either. A bit of bronzer and nice curls will bring it back to its original look and as for clothes, as long as she sticks to clothes that fit her, she'll be fine. She looks great for her age. I'd be lucky if I look half as good as her at her age. I agree with whoever said that Mariah really has never been extremely heavy. She gets a little bloated every now and then but that's quite normal. Irregular sleep can do that too. Other than that, she's gorgeos as ever. I do however feel her breasts make her look bigger than she is, because she usually has a small waist but the boobs become over powering and gives the illusion of a heavier body. I mean yes, there was the carpool video and there was the Ellen appearance, but that won't cut it. These two appearances were months apart and no one has that big an attention span (especially non fans or casual fans) that they'll remember what she said back on Ellen's show. It's April now and apparently the album will drop on May 2nd and the residency starts on May 6th. I didn't see any appearance of Mariah scheduled yet. I'm getting a little worried because it feels like MIAM deja vu again. I hope I am wrong and that she does have plenty of appearances lined up, but the promos should have started by well... yesterday. (Wednesday 1 April 2015; 2:12)

Brett has denied it, B Scott has denied it, TMZ found pictures of Brett kissing another woman on the yacht, so we can safely say that they are not dating. Infact if you re-read my posts, you will see I was one of the people who was defending her skit from the start. I also mentioned that I am glad she sat back and let James Cordon get the spotlight instead of trying to show off her voice. Just saying. Mariah and Brett (51,236) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I don't think it's a good idea. First and foremost, didn't Brett say before that MC is like a sister to him? Come on guys. Secondly (sorry Jon, I have to disagree) I don't think moving on so fast is a good thing. Getting over an ex fast is good, but moving on so fast, especially on to someone you have been so close to for years, in my opinion is bad, because one might confuse comfort for love. As in they might be vulnerable and might feel they are falling in love with the person who is comforting them at that moment. Thirdly I love Brett and he is really talented but I think MC needs to be with someone on her same level if not a little above her. Fourthly and I am regretting saying this and I hope people don't call me out for it but really Brett is looking pretty bad lately. What's up with the homeless look? You are a rich director. Fifth and most importantly, I wouldn't want Mariah to date a really close friend. There are many ways it might not last in the long run and that might cause a rift between the friendship these two individuals value so dearly. (Monday 30 March 2015; 1:47)

Music videos (51,225) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter The videos started going downhill right after Obsessed. IWTKWLI wasn't that bad but the setting could have been better. The effects were a little sloppy but I liked the message they tried to portray with it. By the time H.A.T.E.U. came around, it looked like the label didn't give her any money, so all she had left was walking around a beach. Then came Angel's Cry, and although the video is quite cute and nice, it clearly shows that again little to no budget was given for the video, so MC had to go down the road of takes of her in the studio and cut-scenes to her in a back alley. (I'd like to add that even on a small budget they did a good job on the AC video.) Next came UOOMF. This again was a very cute and fun video and I really enjoy it, even now. This video (although some claimed look like a target commercial, which it did at times) atleast had some level of production to it. I mean there was actually a set, they were given multiple scenes with multiple settings (instead of just walking around). I'm not sure but it may be due to Nicki's inclusion in the video meant her label also contributed a portion in the video (again I don't know if that's how it works but in the show Empire they show that if another artist is featured in a video, the label of the artist adds to the budget of the video). But still Nicki was just a newcomer so obviously the budget wasn't big. When Triumphant came about, I think the label thought that it's a new era and the first single needs to be of good quality. So the video was good. It's one of my favorites. It's all glitz and glam. But unfortunately the song flopped and the label at this point probably lost faith in Mariah because after Obsessed, her chart positions were not up to Mariah's level and so they almost gave up on her, hence #Beautiful had a bad video. Big mistake on the label's part. The song was fire and could have earned them a lot of money. Anyways, the rest is history I guess. That's my take on it. These are obviously not facts, but just my observations and what I think happened. I hope that now that she's back to Sony, she'll get a better team and budget. (Sunday 29 March 2015; 14:25)

Few other points about the carpool karaoke (51,224) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I really find it funny that people think the host sang MC's songs better than her in the skit. If that's true then I'm the next Mariah (move over Ariana) lol because I think I can sing those at least on the same level if not better than James. It's karaoke come on, it's no supposed to sound like a stage performance. So yes, back to my point, I am glad MC took a back seat and let the host have a blast getting his Mariah moment on because that's what made the skit funny. Him knowing all the words was cute. Mariah played the role of a background/supporting singer. If she would sit there belting, a) it would not be funny b) there would be some smarta** calling her out for showing off in a karaoke skit. I can't get over the cute dance they pulled for "Thirsty", she looked so cute, I wanted to hug her lol. I also found it cute that at the end when the host asked if she can get home on her own, she said that she'll see if she can hitchhike a ride or something like that instead of saying "Dahlin' I have my A+mazing decked out limo waiting." From what I saw the skit gained her some positive feedback. I am betting this is part of the image damage control by her management and I am content with it. (Sunday 29 March 2015; 14:05)

Carpool karaoke (51,214) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I thought it was really cute and funny. I was smiling throughout and I thought MC looked extremely cute when she pulled the small dance move. As for her singing let's not blow this out of proportions, the main point of the show was to be funny not showcase Mariah's vocal prowess. We all have been wanting to see MC more relaxed and less diva and that's what we are getting somewhat. I wouldn't go so far as to say judge her vocal ability based on this skit. She probably didn't even try to hit proper note there because it was just a fun skit and she allowed the host to take the spotlight. I said this before, I think MC knows very well about the condition of her voice and career. She's trying, or at least I think she is. She's working to make this year big. While Epic and her management still needs to work on a massive image damage control, I like to believe that she'll get there soon. As for now I am super excited about the new single and the pow video. I am also excited about the Christmas project but that won't surface until the end of the year so I am eagerly waiting for the new single. (Sunday 29 March 2015; 1:49)

As for MC's hand, yes we need it to be ready by the time the curtains go up at Vegas. May (51,207) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I think the main reason for H.A.T.E.U. being such a lackluster video was probably because the record label was not paying enough money required to produce a better video. So they (MC and Brett) probably worked with whatever they had. H.A.T.E.U. was the third single and by then the label probably saw that the album will eventually not reach their expected outcome so they probably just decided to give a very small budget for this song. Other than that all the other videos Brett directed (with the exception of TGIFY) were brilliant. Even Obsessed, which seemed to have been done on a comparatively smaller budget was a really good and cute video. So I do hope that Epic gives MC the budget she deserves. I think they did give her that judging by Brett and MC's confident statement when they said the new video for the new song will blow your mind away. (Saturday 28 March 2015; 19:33)

MC and Brett (51,200) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Oh my gosh. Did you guys hear the radio call? MC and Brett made a surprise call to a radio station. They revealed that they are shooting a movie together based on her biggest Christmas song and also her next video of her next single which will apparently "blow your minds". I am so excited. I have been wanting a Brett-MC collaboration for so long. They have been meeting up so many times, something just had to be cooking between the two. I can't wait to see what they come up with.
