About Lainsky from Philippines: A Mariah Carey fan since "Love Takes Time." However, "Butterfly" remains my favorite album of all time. Timeless!

Type Dangerous and why it failed (113,324) by Lainsky from Philippines
Do you think "My Love" will go to No. 1 in the UK, at least, if she releases it?

HFIA Breakdown (113,317) by Lainsky from Philippines
The Roof has grown on me over the years. I didn't like it at first. Her current voice is suited to sing songs like this and Breakdown. So, yes, it would be nice if she released an album with songs influenced by hip-hop like these, and I won't mind.

Type Dangerous and why it failed (113,316) by Lainsky from Philippines
"TD is a fun song, and I agree that the intro beat and sample are fantastic. While the chorus is somewhat underwhelming, I still like the song, though I don't love it as much as her first singles from the 90s. 'Fantasy', 'Honey', 'Heartbreaker', and 'Emotions' are her four strongest first singles. Each of these songs features a chorus that people can easily sing and hum along to, which is something that 'TD' lacks."

HFIA breakdown (113,290) by Lainsky from Philippines
It seems Mariah has shelved HFIA and the deluxe edition idea. Typically, I listen to her latest album almost every day for the next six months to a year after purchasing it. However, I realized that it's only been five months since HFIA was released, and I haven't played it much in the past month or this month. Don't get me wrong. I like HFIA, but I guess I love playing her 90s' album more lately. In fact, I've been playing "Breakdown" more than any of her other songs. I loved it back then, and I love it even more now, including the music video. Lambs of my age can't help but feel nostalgic these days.

Sweetheart (113,266) by Lainsky from Philippines
I love it too, Giovanni. Try listening to the original. You can find it on YT. Mariah and JD made it better. I did not know it was a remake. I only found out a decade later, lol. It occurred to me that all the additional singles on her No. 1s are remakes, except for "When You Believe", which is also on Whitney's album.

TMB (113,244) by Lainsky from Philippines
"Touch My Body" trended on X, celebrating its achievement of becoming Mariah Carey's 18th No. 1 hit. She looks amazing in the various live performances of this song. Back then, she was in her late 30s, but her figure was at its peak - sexy and healthy at the same time. It's clear that she embodied the song's themes and made sure her body was "worth touching".

As for the track itself, I was captivated from the moment I first heard it. It doesn't feature any whistle notes or extensive belting, and it has a fun, relaxing vibe. The music video perfectly complements the song's feel. Even now, she can still perform this song beautifully, showcasing the quality of her current voice.

The prime music era (113,238) by Lainsky from Philippines
I couldn't agree more. Today's music and songs often feel forgettable and lack the staying power of music from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. This also applies to the artists themselves. For example, music from the 2010s onward is rarely heard on the radio (yes, I still listen to it) or on social media platforms and apps. Although Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, and their contemporaries are long gone, their music continues to live on and be played. Thank God we still have Mariah Carey and Celine Dion.

Grammy, songwriting, Adam Lambert, etc (113,218) by Lainsky from Philippines
Yep, the '90s music really is the best. They are consistent in my playlist along with Mariah's.

Article: Mariah Carey nails Italian rendition of "Volare" (113,174) by Lainsky from Philippines
Never mind the performance. She looks absolutely stunning in that ensemble. Perfection. It looks like the Italians are satisfied with her rendition. Way to go, MC.

Volarè / Nothing Is Impossible (113,163) by Lainsky from Philippines
I saw a video clip of her performance in Italy on X. The event was packed with people, and it seemed like they loved her. Regardless of the type of performance she gave, she continues to be adored by the crowd. That's the power she has built over the past 36 years. Refusing to sing "All I Want for Christmas Is You" is both classy and practical - after all, it's February. Who sings or plays Christmas songs this early in the year?

This event is the perfect opportunity for her to release the deluxe edition of HFIA in time for her anniversary, along with NII and IYF, or even a completely new song.

Should I? (113,144) by Lainsky from Philippines
Great observation, Edward. I agree with you. The excitement and anticipation that used to come with waiting for new music just isn't the same anymore. It seems like success is fleeting now. I watched a YouTuber reviewing the Grammys who mentioned that today's music is deteriorating. While there are a few good songs, they lack staying power, meaning they probably won't be played or remembered forty years from now.

Regarding the recent tribute, just take a look at the video snippets to see if it's worth watching. I found myself questioning the connection to Mariah Carey of some of the performers, with the exceptions of Jennifer Hudson and Busta Rhymes. I mean, come on. As some lambs have commented, it would have been great to see artists like AG, Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and Clarkson involved.

It's true. No one can touch her vocals, her songs, the way she did it. Only Mariah.

MusicCares performances (113,116) by Lainsky from Philippines
I couldn't agree more. The performance was such a mess (I think) that I could barely recognize the song. Mariah, who was caught on camera, appeared to be disapproving but maintained a neutral expression out of respect. Did she ever mention in an interview before that she doesn't like other artists singing her songs? I'm curious how she has dealt with that situation.

Article: Be true to yourself (113,102) by Lainsky from Philippines
The very one thing Mariah did from the beginning was being true to herself, despite what Tommy and Sony had done for her at the beginning of her career, which helped her to establish and emerge into her true self. It's wonderful to read a summary of her achievements like this. Now, let's release the deluxe edition of "HFIA" with new songs.

MTV Unplugged and Glitter significance (113,095) by Lainsky from Philippines
While MTV Unplugged proved the critics wrong and helped Mariah Carey recognize her ability to connect with her fans, the Glitter era and its associated controversies significantly changed her as both a person and an artist. Primarily, it humbled her in profound ways, deepening her connection with her true fans. As an artist, this experience strengthened her and gave her sound a more mature quality while still reflecting her authentic persona. Both MTV Unplugged and the Glitter era hold their own significance; I believe these experiences were necessary for her growth into the person she is today. Regardless, I still love the Glitter album, which she has described as a soundtrack. It is my favorite next to Butterfly. MTV Unplugged is the live soundtrack I play whenever I feel nostalgic and miss her powerful voice in the early 90s.

Possible The Rarities II songs (113,085) by Lainsky from Philippines
How about "We're Not Making Love Anymore" with Michael Bolton, Bobby A? I believe it is a nice duet she had, aside from the remake of "Endless Love".

2026 Mariah (113,077) by Lainsky from Philippines
She may be, or she may not be, but I believe the message of this song is still relevant today. This is one of the things I admire about her. She writes songs that address social issues, in addition to providing hope through her inspirational tracks. Perhaps she can write a new one with what's going on in the US and in the world and include it in the deluxe edition of HFIA, in case she has plans to release one.

MC17 (113,005) by Lainsky from Philippines
I feel the same way, Giovanni, I prefer "Caution" over "HFIA". I've been dreaming about an album where Mariah Carey returns to her beginnings. I envision a sound reminiscent of her earlier work, similar to her first albums up to "Daydream". It would have a pop vibe with a touch of R&B, featuring elements like those found in "Fantasy" or "Dreamlover", as well as "Love Takes Time" or "Without You", and songs akin to "Underneath the Stars" or "Can't Let Go"

Additionally, it would be great to hear another remake or duet, which has become a tradition on her albums. I hope she titles the album something like "Nostalgia", "Old School", "Back Then", or "Classic", something that fits the overall theme.
