I owned the vhs of that movie as a child and always thought she was Mariah’s sister.

Re: AIWFCIY (100,389) (100,390) by ksquarred from paris
I listened to the song's lyrics and actually they do have some similarities. ("All that I want can't be found underneath the Christmas tree", "Santa can't bring me what I need cause all I want for Christmas is you"). Both songs are basically telling the same story so Mariah may have to defend herself on this. The news of this has already made headlines even here in France where it's pretty unusual to see something Mariah related in the news nowadays.

Nostradamus on twitter (100,382) by ksquarred from paris
Do you think there's any truth to what they're saying? (That Mariah has first single for MC16 coming on June 17, probably with a female rapper, and second single that should be a power ballad coming on July 1.)

How could we get Loverboy to #1 ? (95,944) by ksquarred from paris
Hey guys, I love the original Loverboy, and I think if it had been released it would've been one of Mariah's #1s. It really bums me out that it wasn't, because it's one of her strongest uptempo to me, I can dance to it all night long whereas I can't dance to Fantasy of Honey. Mariah was clearly robbed of a song that could've been one of her biggest, long lasting hits.

I really want her to get payback by getting it to #1. Music releases are kinda slow atm because of the covid, and I'm thinking she's not the only JLo enemy, and maybe, if we joined fanbases we could get some big names to help her get Loverboy to the top. Mariah is getting a lot of buzz with her memoirs and many celebrities are promoting it. She mentions this incident in the memoirs. I did my research and apparently Mariah is not he only one to hate JLo, there is also: Rihanna, Nicki Minaj , Cher, Brandy and Ashanti.

If someone here has a foot in one of those singer's fanbases, maybe we could start a campaign for them to collaborate on a remix? Also, if there are young tiktokers reading this board, start a challenge with the song.

BBMAS award (95,896) by ksquarred from paris
Hey there, Mariah has asked for the lambily's help on twitter. Her tweet reads: "OK Lambs, we need a plan. Who's distracting Taylor's fans and who's in charge of Harry's? I've got Lil Nas X and Luke covered with a new Old Town Road remix. Vote now."

Here is the link to vote for her to win the award. I voted with my many many facebook accounts. It would be an amazing end to this great year (great Mariah-wise).

Emancipation of Mimi vinyl reissue (94,755) by ksquarred from paris
Apparently Universal will reissue TEOM in vinyl and it should be available in August. It is already listed on Amazon UK. The original release costs 200 € nowadays, so that's really excellent news.

Re: Loverboy firecracker (94,044) (94,047) by ksquarred from paris
Yes I've heard it, he did a good job, but the vocals are from the original song filtered to isolate vocals, and there's a huge loss in Mariah's voice. That's why I'm looking for the vocal only track, if it still exists somewhere.

Loverboy firecracker (94,038) by ksquarred from paris
Hey I have been obsessed on listening Loverboy as if it was meant to sound and trying to recreate it. Does anyone know if the studio outtakes are somewhere to be found? Lots of her "studio acapellas" can be found on YouTube but not Loverboy.

Re: This should be the playlist for next tour (93,842) (93,844) by ksquarred from paris
I think it's mainly because it was a milestone in her career, more than for the song itself.

I don't know if you read this messageboard but I'm thinking you probably do, and I just wanted to congratulate you on the book, it was my first confinement reading (don't know the English word), and I loved it. Found it very interesting, I had never really realised Mariah talked so much about nostalgia, all the parallels you draw with opera divas etc. (I could go on a tangent about it but not here as I'd rather do it in French.) It made me love and feel for Mariah even more. It's too bad it came out with this agenda, all bookshops now closed, but I hope you're still satisfied with the press coverage. I saw France Inter talked in a very good way about it. There's only one tiny detail which I found inaccurate, at one point you mentioned Twister was Mariah talking in the third person about herself, like she does in Looking In, but I read somewhere that in Twister she was actually writing about her stylist who had just committed suicide. But maybe I'm wrong. Anyway, congratulations, found it stellar and I'm going to make my non lamb friends buy it as soon as the confinement is over, it will save me lots of time trying to explain why Mariah is so great and iconic, you do it way better than I ever could.

I think she will also release a new music video for the song this week, directed by Joseph Kahn (#Beautiful).

Miss You Most (91,464) by ksquarred from paris
Hey lambs. Do you think we could somehow get Mariah to sing "Miss you most" someday? With a twitter campaign or signs at her concerts? She never sings it, and to me it's such an underrated song. The lyrics are so powerful.

Loverboy stolen sample (90,833) by ksquarred from paris
Hey has anyone heard this? It's a fan made attempt at recreating Loverboy as it was supposed to sound with the original sample which was taken for Jlo's I'm Real. It's a bit shaky but gives an overall idea. I never really liked Loverboy (even though it's the first Mariah song I heard), but damn, with this sample the song would have been amazing.

Obsessed (90,621) by ksquarred from paris
Does anyone know if the new found interest for Obsessed because of the Tik Tok challenge has had a concrete impact somewhere? Charts or YouTube views? Anyhow I think that's great that teenagers bop to a Mariah song and I hope it'll help draw their attention to her next releases.

Chart manipulation (90,612) by ksquarred from paris
I just stumbled on this article, which basically says that if Mariah has so many #1s it is because most of her singles were discounted to 49 cents, and I was wondering if anyone could confirm that, based on your memories? I know it was the case for Loverboy, but I had never heard it for songs like Honey or My All.

Fly Like a Bird (89,820) by ksquarred from paris
Hey everyone, I went to see Mariah in Paris last Saturday. She was really great. I went to see her on two previous occasions (the Christmas show and the Sweet Sweet Fantasy Tour), and last saturday was by far the best. It was a small venue comparing to the other concerts, and she was more relaxed, and we could ear it in her voice. She sang snippets of Through The Rain and Melt Away, which sent the crowd into a frenzy. At one point she sang Fly Like a Bird, and to me she lipped 90% of the song but I am not completely sure, especially since I see lambs on the internet raving about this performance. What are your opinions ?

Does anyone know where foreign lambs can watch the full medley as it was broadcasted? There's only a fan video on YouTube.

Re: A No No video (88,384) by ksquarred from paris
It's so disappointing. With the exact same amount of money and hired dancers and extras they could've come up with a good video, if only they sat for one second and thought of an idea. There is no direction, no storyline, nothing. Even a simple idea like Mariah enters the train with three bodyguards (the dancers), everyone looks at her and recognizes her, because, well she's Mariah Carey, they look at the ads for Caution, start smiling, maybe someone's watching the GTFO or With You video on his/her phone (product placement for extra $). Some people take photos. There's the guy who's done Mariah wrong reading his newspaper on his way to work, when he sees her he hides behind his paper. Then the beat starts from one of the bodyguard's speaker (another extra $). Everyone on the train starts shaking their heads along, from old people to the little black girl from Fantasy and Shake it Off. Mariah starts singing. Then as the song goes everyone starts dancing while Mariah ridiculizes the guy singing the lyrics to him. The lights change from blue to red idk, some cool people enter the train, which now looks like a nightclub, (No, no, no, no, no, no, no, I said no.) You have different styles of dancing, hip hop, voguing, etc. Then at the end the guy shamefully exits the train at the next station while everyone laughs at him. Mariah has the last laugh, "I think that was it, yep." It's not great, but at least there's a progression and it costs exactly the same amount. The problem is not that Mariah's videos are cheap, it's that they're not telling anything, that's why it's so boring.

Re: A No No - Cardi B (88,356) by ksquarred from paris
We will know tomorrow. But, if not Cardi B, I'm sure there's a prominent featured artist, because they clearly invested money on this video (hired dancers, shot more than 4 days, rented a set at Warner Brothers). They didn't invest as much on With You and GTFO, which had incredibly cheap videos, and they were the first singles, supposed to push the album. They don't put that much money on Mariah alone anymore. And there's a clip on instagram of one of the dancers getting prepped on set where you can hear a female rapping in the background. Well, maybe it's that british rapper.

A No No - Cardi B (88,344) by ksquarred from paris
I m pretty sure Cardi is featured in the video. If you look at that clip which leaked around the time the music video was shot and compare it to the teaser Mariah has posted, it's the same set and the same lighting.

A No No (88,329) by ksquarred from paris
I don't understand how A No No could be pulled. We know for sure that they shot a music video in 4 days, that costs a lot of money, why wouldn't they release it ?
