Celine (50,546) by Bill from the UK It's odd how I don't listen to Celine, as most Mariah fans like her. She's a great singer but I've never been wowed by any of her songs or her delivery. The only song of hers that I rate is Falling Into You. That song is without question her best, and one of the best songs I've ever listened to in fact. There's just something about it. My All (50,407) by Bill from the UK I love reading everybody's comments about this great track. I also love the song and the video. The video is very surreal with the giant shell and strange trees in the water, like she is in another world, and the black and white is stunning. I also loved the remixes. David Morales did a great job, and the Stay Awhile version is one of my ultimate favourites. And then she came out with Mi Todo and the associated remixes for the Spanish version. Just great. I also love how in recent years, when performing live, she incorporates the "feel your body, feel your body, feel your body" refrain from the remix, but in the original version. I also love it when the live version merges into the Morales mix at the end. Brilliant stuff. Good one Mimi. (Wednesday 25 February 2015; 21:05)

Tobby / Without You (50,344) by Bill from the UK I agree with you Tobby about Without You. Being from the UK, I always consider it a #1, and was glad it was included on the UK release of the first #1's album. I wonder if she will include it for the update. It was a huge success across all of Europe actually, hitting the top spot in several countries, and really was what propelled her to stardom on this continent. It's quite a significant landmark in her career from an International perspective, as it helped break her in many new territories, so it would be great if it was featured on the updated album, again, even as a bonus track would be great. Number ones (50,289) by Bill from the UK I think if another artist, especially one who looks up to and appreciates Mariah, exceeds her Billboard record, we should congratulate them and accept it with good grace. Mariah has reigned in that category for a long time, and has been the top female artist in that area for years. Mariah paved the way in many, many areas. She pretty much single-handedly popularised the use of melisma as a contemporary singing style, she was the first to popularise the rapper du jour remixes, she brought back artists recording Christmas records, she had a string of #1's from the debut to only a few years ago. Mariah's chart toppers have records of their own that are unlikely to be beaten. Her debuting at #1 with Fantasy, the long stretches One Sweet Day and We Belong Together spent at the top etc. And let us not forget that 17 of those 18 #1's were written by Mariah, a feat which will take a long, long time to beat. Even Elvis fans cannot contest that, as he never wrote his material. I think if her record is surpassed, it will only highlight just how incredible and ground breaking Mariah's career and achievements have been. And I'm sure Mariah will be the first to congratulate Rhianna. (Thursday 19 February 2015; 7:29)

Luke and John John (50,220) by Bill from the UK Thanks for replying Luke, I remember KISS playing the Fantasy remix a lot a few years back, I think during their "KISStory" segment. John John, Heart is the one radio station I never listen to lol. I shall start as I'm sick of Smooth and Magic having a love affair with every other female singer except Mariah. I must hear Whitney, Aretha and Celine at least three times a day each on those stations. I don't know why it is, but Mariah just seems to sound wonderful on the radio. Better than the CD, not sure why that is. I think I posted it here when it happened, but I had to wait in all day for a delivery once and had Magic playing. I almost had a heart attack when Dreamlover came on. It sounded glorious. (Monday 16 February 2015; 20:50)

Luke (50,215) by Bill from the UK Hi Luke, what station(s) did you hear MC on? I hardly ever hear her on the radio here except for the occasional Hero and AIWFCIY during December. What songs were played? I remember a long time ago (about ten years) hearing Emotions randomly played, which wasn't even a big hit over here, and I loved the female DJ cutting in during the "giggle" at the end of the song saying "How on earth does she sing so high?" Mariah after Vegas (50,140) by Bill from the UK I kind of see 2015, Mariah's 25th year of making beautiful music, as a celebratory affair with the new #1's album and the Vegas shows (and hopefully more Christmas concerts at the end of the year). As for the future, one thing I've always wanted Mariah to do, and something I feel she would do well, is to completely write and produce an album by herself. It may take a while for her to put it together, but I loved when she self-produced tracks like Vanishing and Melt Away. They were standouts on their respective albums and remain, in my opinion, real highlights from her catalogue. I don't believe Mariah's ever written a song completely by herself, except interludes, but I think she can do it and would do it well. Even if she "sings" the instrumentation and gets somebody to copy it on the respective instrument, it could work. Something that is completely 100% her would be a real treasure for me. Patti Labelle (50,070) by Bill from the UK Hi Amber, Patti was not Mariah's godmother from birth. This happened fairly recently, within the last ten years I believe. I'm not sure what happened in Mariah's personal life, but I imagine she would have got baptised (again?) and at that point would have asked Patti to be her Godmother. Deedre (49,905) by Bill from the UK I see your point, and this is probably what all the "retire" crowd are missing. They forget she is human, and, like every single one of us in this world, is dealing with her own problems and struggles every day. Mariah's world has come crashing down around her. She has lost her husband, for all we know he may be trying to get custody of her precious children, if not, they face the prospect of being raised by a single parent just as she was. And yet people stand here and complain about her lip syncing and call her an alcoholic (not you, but messages in general lately). It is frankly awful and disgusting to speak about anybody in that matter. Mariah isn't thick skinned. She is a warm, beautiful, caring, insecure and vulnerable woman. The fact her supporters can so quickly write her off and post such heartless and callous messages about her during her lowest moments leaves me lost for words. It honestly does. I just pray that Mariah will never read these messages, because that fragile flower that she is would be devastated if she ever did. I will support Mariah as much as I can through this period. I have always loved her and always will. I loved her from the moment I first saw her (the Dreamlover video). I knew right then, at 9 years old, how special she was, and she has remained so dear to me to this day, and will continue to until my last. (Saturday 7 February 2015; 23:56)

I don't understand (49,897) by Bill from the UK I really don't understand all this chipping away at Mariah. She did a bad performance at the Tree Lighting ceremony yet completely came back with the Beacon shows, which were fantastic. TECS got off to a ropey start but by the time her bronchitis went she was sounding great. She messed up lipping a song she has probably never sung live (even in her peak), more than likely because of a technical issue. Hardly cause for retirement. If you don't like Mariah as she is, then let go. It's not easy, in fact it can be exceedingly hurtful, but there's an art to it. (Saturday 7 February 2015; 20:52)

Nathan Morris (49,867) by Bill from the UK I'm sorry but publicly calling Mariah out like that is low rent and is just a cry for attention. If Nate was any kind of friend to Mariah he would take his concerns to her privately and not publish it on his Facebook for everybody to see. Mariah would never, ever do that to one of her peers. Jazz and Blues thoughts (49,799) by Bill from the UK So I've watched some clips other than Fantasy. ABMB was great. Her voice sounded rich and her ad libs were beautiful. The only lipped part seems to be the climax after "only a matter of time" which she always lips. The rest seemed great to my ears. I do think the reaction to Fantasy has been a bit extreme, and we're not giving Mariah the credit she deserves. Mariah has been performing for 25 years. She has performed Fantasy many times, and she wrote the song. I sincerely doubt that she would be unable to convincingly lip sync a song that a) is one of her biggest hits and one she has sung countless times and b) has lipped many times in the past successfully. There was (caps) obviously (end caps) some fault which meant she couldn't hear the music or the backing track. This is probably why she was singing some parts live over the backing track. The same goes for her messing up the ABMB lip (she missed her cue) and the end to WBT. All lipped sections, it seems as thought she couldn't hear. I'm not making excuses because I am always disappointed when she lip syncs, but honestly, people are making out like she's some washed up alcoholic has been, staggering around the stage unable to even remember her own songs, and that's just not the case. Mariah, as the opening of Heavenly says, you don't have to speak up for yourself. Be still, and let God fight your battles. Hey to Shelly. (Thursday 5 February 2015; 20:38)

Our lovely Mariah (49,645) by Bill from the UK I've never seen the board so busy before. I would implore each of you to please, please support Mariah. During times like this, she needs her fans the most. We all want her to succeed and we all wish her happiness. I don't like seeing what I am as much as any of you, and who knows what our poor Mariah is dealing with? She may have been dealt a huge blow personally seconds before walking on stage by all what is happening in her personal life. She is noticeably different from what we saw on Ellen, almost like she's gone a step backwards, so something may have happened between now and then. But please, don't let her see her own fans lose faith in her. I love her like a family member, and "I'll be there" anytime she needs a friend. She'll always be somewhere on the outside, let's show her that despite her flaws, we love her dearly. I don't know how I would cope if anything ever happened to her. (Monday 2 February 2015; 21:05)

A hero lies in me (49,514) by Bill from the UK For years, I could take or leave "Hero". I understood why so many people love it, I understood why it became so popular with the masses, and it is of course sang beautifully and sincerely by Mariah. But, like I said, it never really wowed me like some of her other songs do. All that changed when I was facing a very difficult situation personally. I don't really want to go into the details of it here, but I was struggling to find the courage to deal with it, and then "Hero" played on my iPod. I sat back and listened to the lyrics, which I of course know as well as my own name, but finally, after all these years, they struck a chord with me, and I sat there in awe. All those times when we're faced with difficult situations, or adversary etc., we always get through it and live to see another day. The hero within us "comes along" and just carries us through it. Whenever I dread a presentation at work, telling somebody something they don't want to hear, facing something I really don't want to, that hero in me surfaces, and saves the day. I've never had a lyric by Mariah touch me so much before. And I never really noticed how astonishing this song actually is until now. I've always liked it and been extremely fond of it, but now it has been elevated onto a whole other level. We all know it anyway, but Mariah really is the greatest songwriter there is. Lee TS / Warrior Butterfly / unedited vocals (49,403) by Bill from the UK Lee TS, I cannot thank you enough for sharing the unedited MTV Unplugged concert. Unplugged has always been my most favourite album of Mariah's, and this was a complete joy to listen to and such a treat. For years, I have thought I heard the "la la la's" towards the end of I'll Be There, but thought my ears were playing tricks on me. They were there all along but just moved to the background in the editing lol. So many times I wanted to post about that but worried about coming across as a fool haha. And Warrior Butterfly, the Tattoo Club showcase was brilliant. I never knew she performed Someday (can see why it was left out as they seemed to screw up a couple of times haha). These were great to listen to, thanks for posting, both of you. (Sunday 25 January 2015; 1:20)

Duets (49,301) by Bill from the UK I'm in two minds about a duets album as well. If Mariah re-sang her parts rather than the copy and paste of the Memoirs duets then I'd be alright with it, especially if she changed the songs up to be in keeping with the duetting artist's style. For instance have a song have a more swing/rat pack vibe if Buble joins her, electronic if Gaga etc. That said, I would be happy with an archive duets album: example track list below, probably missing some major ones. 1. I'll be there with Trey 2. Endless love with Luther 3. One sweet day with BIIM 4. Whenever you call with Brian 5. When you believe with Whitney 6. Chain of fools with Aretha 7.
