Mariah Carey set pulses racing with her choice of evening attire on Sunday. Enjoying a dinner date in West Hollywood with her man James Packer, the songstress wowed in a plunging black gown. The 47-year-old star was pictured leaving the celebrity favourite spot, with her fiance in tow, wearing sunglasses despite it being late at night.
Mariah completed her look with fishnet stockings and platform heels. James, 48, looked a little more understated in a stone grey sweater and smart trousers. The Australian businessman proposed to the Hero hitmaker in January after a whirlwind romance.
Meanwhile, during a press event last week Mariah reflected on her experience as a judge on American Idol. When asked during the NBCUniversal TCA panel about what she learned from her time on the show, Mariah replied: "Ugh. It was the most abusive experience." The singer then took a large swig of her champagne and added: "And by the way, you've just driven me to drink."
Mariah famously clashed with co-judge Nicki Minaj while appearing on the 12th season of the talent show, which aired in 2013. Mariah and Nicki were judges on the show alongside Randy Jackson and Keith Urban, and the panel wasn't big enough for the two divas.
The musicians clashed from the start, with Nicki calling the singer a "b****" and claiming producers said she was the "best judge" to ever appear on Idol. But the feud came to a nasty head after the rapper allegedly threatened Mariah, with production sources telling TMZ at the time that she said: "If I had a gun I would shoot her."
