Re: Can somebody explain to me (68,764) (68,778)

The master plan of Crustella seems to be: 1. Make money as much as possible by working for Mariah 2. Get her daughter and relatives 15 minutes of fame by posting ridiculous pics with a superstar 3. Destroy the image of MC to get publicity like a Kadashian (maybe she thinks that's the only way to stay "relevant" and sell music) 4. Have a good time and fun 24/7 by hanging out with a grown-up woman who says she's eternally 12 As you can imagine I have no idea too what others see in that manager/woman.

Isn't it a little immature for a grown up guy to take pictures with his finger up his nose? Also dahlin' 90% of your posts show how you think Mariah and her whole image is trashy yet you keep coming here and trashing her some more, so aren't you doing the same?

Wow people, I'm not saying I like Stella. I don't know her. That's all. Can't we grant her the benefit of the doubt? Because to me, saying she's bad means Mariah is bad at judging who should be managing her. And I can't, can't, can't believe that. Mariah is one of the smartest person in the game. Everybody knows that. Let's see and hope for the best. Basically, let's trust them.

Brandy is lady of soul (68,775)
by this_is_qhm from the Philippines

Congratulations to one of the most distinctive voices in R&B - Brandy. Well deserved. Girl killed her medley of hits at the Soul Train Awards. I have all of her albums except Human and I still listen to each and every one of them on a monthly basis. Her debut was cool. Never Say Never still sounds every bit the smash it was. Full Moon will always be the best showcase of Darkchild/Rodney Jerkins' talents as a producer and Brandy's impeccable vocal talent. Afrodisiac still astounds me with its maturity (released when Brandy was only 25) and hints that Mariah would also sound good in front of a Timbaland production. And Two Eleven is as mature and raw as the best R&B records out there. Bravo, girl, bravo. Bring on the new album.

Scapelambing (68,774)
by Andrew from UK
| |

People need to stop scapelambing Mariah's manager. Mariah has probably, almost certainly, hired Stella, and continues to keep her on her payroll, because she wants somebody who will enable her to be drunk, party, be on self-indulgent reality shows, get her in the press for her personal life, hang out with her and be girly, kiss her ass, etc. So, if Mariah has purposefully hired a trash bag, because she wants a trash bag, isn't it a little trashy to trash the trash bag?

I love R Kelly. He is still dropping hits and selling albums. I agree his catalog is crazy. I thought R did a good job jumping on Betcha and TMB. I hope he and Mariah work together again. R. Kelly, pure musical genius in my opinion. Man, I'm going to go listen to Chocolate Factory right now, lol.

Personal assistants aren't allowed to date? (68,770)
by Nikki from usa
| |
|
|
Okay, The Sun isn't a "newspaper" it's a tabloid. The whole article is about Stella talking about a personal assistant for herself, so how does that turn into "Mariah Carey's personal assistant?" If Stella's going to dictate her team's dating life around her and admits she's going to abuse her assistants than I hope she also pays for their therapy afterward.

This is how much it costs to be Mariah Carey? (68,769)
by Nikki from usa
| |
|
|
A couple of issues here. 1. "The rent for Carey's Calabasas mansion is reportedly roughly $250,000." Yes, but that was shared with a billionaire, not something she does on the regular. 2. She doesn't stay at the Nobu Villa, she has her own 5 million dollar trailer she bought specifically for her Vegas residency, so she doesn't shell out that kind of money. 3. "She's off skiing in Aspen during the holidays she shells out $1,400 nightly for an Airbnb rental." That sounds about right, but I'm not sure if it's always that brand. I'm under the impression she's been doing so much promo for them so she'll be comped this year on her using them for her travels. 4. I've heard of that $9,400 figure for hair before, but it wasn't per appearance it was per month. This is neither here nor there, but does anyone else recall Buckle saying something along the lines of charging her up to $1,200 per appearance? She only utilizes him for major appearances and sometimes for dates to do makeup, unless she's on tour.

Whether you want to admit it or not R. Kelly is a legend with a great catalog and a loyal fan base he still sells out arenas today post scandals and all. I feel He and MC could make magic together because they are both versatile artists with a crazy pen game. As long as it is something of their caliber and no rehashed Memoirs scraps I am all for them working together other than that no thank you.

Mimi L. that might be Crustella's masterplan, but someone keeps posting here there maybe she has some master plan for Mariah. Right now it just looks superficial and petty.

Valentine's Day 6-song EP / L.A. Reid - Why? (68,763)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
I tweeted L.A. Reid today with an idea for a Valentine's Day 6-song EP exclusively released to one digital and one in-store retailer. He is going to have to think outside of the box to get Mimi back to the top of charts and on the radio again. So here is my suggestion: Mariah Carey- "Yours For Valentine's Day" 1. Yours -duet with Justin Timberlake 2. When I Feel It 3. Reaching For The Sky 4. Mesmerized 5. Skydiving - ft. Drake 6. Love Takes Time(Acapella) Bonus 7. Duet with Maxwell I know we all are dying to hear Justin Timberlake sing Yours with MC. And we all want to hear the full versions of When I Feel It and Skydiving. I think Drake would do an awesome rap verse. And we all want to hear Reaching For The Sky and Mesmerized. What do you think? Or what are some other ways to get MC back to the top of the charts and on radio again? Do you think L.A. Reid has given up hope on MC ever being a mega selling artist again? I can't believe he is not putting pressure on her to get new music out as soon as possible. And I wonder why he keeps on allowing Mariah to collaborate Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox all the time. Has he just given up hope on MC and resorted to just letting her do what she wants to do? Where is your guidance right now, L.A. Reid? If she doesn't come through with good chart hitting music next year, I am going to be worried for the remaining years of her career. Next year is your last shot, MC. I am praying for you to get it right this time. We miss the classic Mariah Carey. Bring her back soon. Please.

Agreed. I think that at this point. Mariah needs a manager that, honestly, cannot stand the woman and her antics. Someone that says "No Mariah, you're not wearing that, it's a daytime TV show", "No, Mariah, you're not going to post pictures of yourself in the bathtub, infact, you've had too much to drink, give me your phone", "No Mariah, put the knockers away, put some pants on and get back in the studio." I'm kidding. Somewhat. I imagine such a person would never be hired.

What's so special about her? (68,758)
by Marissa from USA
| |
|
|
I'd like to flip the original question on its head. For people who really like Stella, what are the specific reasons why you like her so much? I truly do not understand what the hype for her is about. I feel like MIAM was such a terrible era that fans became easily impressed and started treating every little improvement that happened under Stella's leadership like it was a miracle, when it was really just the basics of what an artist should do (like touring). Other than Mariah touring more often, getting more Instagram followers and having more publicity (which has been trashy, thus many people see her as ridiculous and insufferable now), I really do not see any vast improvements since Stella came on the scene. Call me if she gets Mariah a #1 or an album at the top of the charts. To me, anything else is ultimately fluff if it's not about the music.

One clue about her master plan lies in the fact that she had allegedly filmed a pilot episode of a reality show based on herself a while back but that was abandoned (maybe it wasn't picked up by any networks) and then she later latched on to Mariah and lo and behold she is now the second (or main) star of MW. Which was initially titled Mariah's Squad and only got renamed when fans started protesting that they don't care about Mariah's staff (aka Stella). Another clue of her trying to kick off her own reality show is that the very first episode of MW has Stella's storyline in the synopsis and it wouldn't be there if her storyline wasn't a highlight. Here's a snippet: "Her cut-throat new manager Stella Bulochnikov hires a new assistant, Molly, to help her out. There are a few ground rules for working for her. 'You’re not allowed to date for the first year of working for myself,' says Bulochnikov, which is bad news for Molly's boyfriend. The second rule is 'you're not allowed to cry in my office'."

Just listened to those 2 lines. I actually think she sounded relatively alike, her voice in Honey did get more agile, a bit prettier, and more inaudible. Mariah's voice never really declined in her albums. Only on the live performances it did. Her voice has always changed, every album, there's always a subtle change. It's actually really bizarre. I mean if you want an example, compare the 1991 Grammy's VOL, to 1995 Madison Square Garden's VOL. Her voice progressively got more beautiful, it's almost as if there were 2 different singers. It's not even that she developed new vocals. It's just her voice really changes. And it always does, to this day. Give a real lamb an unreleased Mariah song and he would know exactly what album, era and year it's from, just basing it from her voice lol. You can't do this with Beyonce. A lot of singers literally sound the same from first to last album. For me, it's actually a gift to have such a voice that always changes. (A bit weird.) But always something new to look forward to. I think that's what makes Mariah's voice really special.
