Mariah being on top (44,484) by Gilbert from USA Okay, so Mariah is not at number 1. Why are some so bummed out? I think this is a great album and her being in the top 3 is pretty damn great if you ask me. I love Mariah but she can't always be on top at #1. Yes her company is lacking in promotion. The only thing we can do about that is complain about it. We don't know what goes on behind those doors or what she has to go through to get promotion. She gave us fans an album and I'm grateful for that. I don't care if she isn't at number 1 anymore as long as she is alive and able to make music that makes me grateful. It baffles me how the people whom clearly have no former musical or production education/experience so indignantly promote their ignorant interpretation of the artistry that is creating Mariah's sound. I sang professionally for a long time in my youth. I put out 3 Latin and worked with Dennis Nieves, the producer for Joe Granda, whom is most recognized for managing La India. I'm not at all trying to suggest I reached any kind of recognizable success but, in that time I had the good fortune of working in a "real", Universal and Univision recording studio. My voice was very, very powerful and, as a young, gay Mariah fan, I threw in as many Mariah inflections as possible (yet in no way comparable lol). My point is, when I was 18 and recorded music, I could record 3 songs in one day; perform live for hours and sounded just like my recording. I remember I got to perform at Calle 8 in 2001 and, they actually moved me from stage to stage singing a Marc Anthoy classic because the crowd was going crazy with me. Fast forward 17 years later, after so much weed, alcohol and just improper vocalization; the other day I was singing the ABC's to my God son, trying to add in all my usual riffs and inflections, pretending to be cute and, my best frind looks at me with this face and says, "What happened to you, man?" She crushed me. But it was the truth. Now, imagine a professional that is constantly, constantly "overusing" her vocals. I'm surprised she can even talk still. (Wednesday 4 June 2014; 16:57)

The Elusive Chanteuse (44,472) by Badr from USA I know it might be a bit late to share my opinion on the new album. Well, I seriously believe it's by far her best effort since TEOM. It's actually up there with Music Box, Daydream, and Butterfly. While listening to the album for the first time, I was brought back in time. I felt as if I were listening to songs from the 90s ("Camouflage", "Faded"). Her voice is as powerful as ever, and so is her songwriting ability. I admire how she can sing low in one line and high in the next one. I think musically this album is a step forward. She dropped the typical musical arrangements and instruments and actually experimented with sounds. The Elusive Chanteuse also has some of the most emotional performances ("One More Try", "Cry."). I still don't understand why they picked what is in my opinion the weakest song in the album as the second single ("You're Mine"). I think "Thirsty" is not the best shot either. I can actually visualize "YDKWTD" or "Money" charting high. These songs sound effortlessly fresh and appealing. Some other remarkable moments are the intro to "Make it...." and "Heavenly". I wish "TAOLG" hadn't been demoted to a bonus track, it's one of her finest pieces of work ever, IMO. The only awkward moment is "Supernatural", but the climax of the song is good. Unfortunately, the CD's poor commercial performance was evident, due to "YM" and the limited promotion. I wish Mariah wakes up and fights to make this project another memorable era. Meteorite (44,470) by Will from Australia Great post Alexis etc. I was listening to Meteorite and acknowledging the similarities between it and Fly Away (Butterfly Reprise) which correct me if I'm wrong started as the dance track first before the ballad. Ball gown at the park (44,469) by Licia from USA That E Online article really bugged me. Mariah was not outside in a ball gown. She had on a regular dress outside playing with her children. There was nothing over the top or too glamorous going on. Whomever wrote the article obviously has no idea what a ball gown is. I swear she can't win for losing with the media. I really hope she did something fun, Mariah is so about fun eternally. Probably be some skates. Mariah looks stunning so we may get some cute colorful outfits, maybe switch up from the gowns.
