First you said the album had a retro 70's sound/Minnie Ripperton. Now you're claiming you know the title of the album. Where are you getting your information? Can you provide us with the sources?

Album title (42,907)

Can we all stop guessing what the album title might be? Or creating suggestions of what it should be? Unless you're psychic, you'll never know the title, not until Mariah utters it out of her mouth. Thanks.

Mariah isn't in control over what gets released as a single or not. She has, countless times, regretted over the fact that Migrate was not a single. I even think she told a lamb that directly through twitter. She had to fight to get a song like CTTA to be a single, and when she eventually won, Sony didn't fully support it. I wouldn't be surprised if it has been the same with each album she has put out. Wasn't The One supposed to be a single, but the label decided to change it to "Boy" because it was more "radio friendly"? If she's had to put "finishing touches" or whatever, I would not be surprised if she came out to say that the label asked her to go back to the studio. And if I remember correctly, LA Reid asked her to do exactly that with TEOM (which in turn yielded WBT etc.). I guess with other artists, like Rihanna maybe, the "struggle" isn't so profound, since she (Rihanna) doesn't write or produce her songs, so it's all up to the label. With Mariah, it's a whole other ball game. These songs are personal to her because she writes them, so naturally she would have more input on what she wants to be released. It's just that the label ignores her sometimes/most of the time.

QueenMc / album title (42,905)

Considering how Mariah herself said that the album would be named after a "personal possession of mine that's part of an entity that I've had almost all my life", I highly doubt the album is called "Heavenly Existence". If it is, then I will take back my words. I also highly doubt there will be another single prior to the album being released. I reiterate what I said before that sentence.

I don't think you realize that pop/mainstream music is an image industry. It is all about marketing and what can sell. The artist has, at most, half of the control over their artistic image because the label usually decides what the public gets to hear. Think about Mariah's credentials before TEOM. She had to fight to get Shake It Off as a single because the label was so adamant to put Say Somethin' as the third single. Even though Mariah writes and produces all of her songs, it still has to be green lit by the label execs otherwise they can shelve the project and not sell it. I'm sure if Mariah had complete control, Migrate would have been a single. In fact, in a recent interview she said she wanted it to be a single but the label wanted to repeat the TEOM formula which is why they released the "big ballad" as the second single. Before you criticize Mariah, who was the first artist to really reach out and make a connection to fans (not all the new artists nowadays who use it as a marketing gimmick to appear more "real")? Think about all that she has done and be thankful something new is coming out soon. She is a full time mother, which is a hard enough job already. I have a special feeling about this album. Patience.

Single choices (42,903)
by Marquise from USA
| |
|
|
I don't know if people understand that the record label chooses the singles, not just the artist, they usually do a vote for each song an which ever song gets the most votes by the record executives becomes the single. Mariah has stated in interviews that the label chooses the singles, she said there were songs she wanted to be a single but did not.

Honestly (42,902)
by Jeremey Carey from United States

I do believe part of getting TAOLG and YME was because a lot of the fans complained about #Beautiful not having enough Mariah and she gave us "Mariah"only music. I do think the next single will be a collaboration. I would love for the guest star to be Beyonce or Rhianna and the single she releases is with her and a hot commodity, so she can hitch a ride to number one, yet again.

I knew for sure when the album would be released. Ever since TEOM I've taken a day off work the day her album comes out (actually, for that particular album, a day off school, as I was only 16 at the time.). I'm so excited for this album - listening to the songs she has released in a specific order, you really do get a sense that each song is a part of an overall body of very strong work. I know TAOLG wasn't what many of you expected or enjoyed, but for me it has become one of my favourite ever MC songs. Bring on the new music from the worlds premiere diva.

Smart (42,897)
by Angelo from Italy

I was laughing reading "Mariah, she's smart". Smart? Mariah's smart? A person that doesn't choose Migrate, Side Effects, For The Record, Standin' O as singles is smart? The same persone who disappears for "final touches" for 4 years and doesn't answers to her fans? You're crazy. The album will come out this December, AIWFCIY (Eternal Remix) will be the lead single. You'll see.

Billboard cover (42,894)
by Terna from Nigeria

It's funny how all the drama subsided the minute this promo pic surfaced, and now news of the possible digital album surprise release, maybe word of the twitter wars with JD got to her ears lol. I'm loving this Billboard cover though, it's simple and grabs one's attention, the colored version is even more stunning. Mariah is a beautiful woman. I'm getting Music Box album cover artwork and also Obsessed (the single artwork) vibes from it though.

So now we're getting some steam rolling ahead with the album, now we know it's a digital release, and it makes me wonder what became of the little bash she threw with all the major radio station DJ's back on April 2nd. What is the plan to be unraveled?

Expect big ballads and uptempo bangers. After immersing herself in her own catalog ("a friend of mine made me a playlist with 1,000 of my songs on it called 'The Ultimate MC Audio Collection'," she says), Carey explored her feel-good, hip-hop/R&B side as well as her more introspective moments that could give her fans the best of all worlds. She's been reading the messageboards and is going to give us what we want. Big ballads and club bangers.

Triumphant (Get Em) and The Art Of Letting Go were buzz songs. Not official singles. Triumphant was for Nick. The Art Of Letting Go was for the fans. Almost Home was a soundtrack song. #Beautiful and You're Mine(Eternal) are the only official singles from this album. You're Mine was a mid tempo R&B ballad that was never going to be a huge hit and she knew it. The next single will be the single that's meant to promote and carry the album. She's calling the shots. She's smart.

I agree with the person who said to keep an eye out for the album. I do believe it will come earlier than May 6th, definitely in May not April. But not pay May 6th. As long as It doesn't get pushed past May 6th for the unknown date effect, I'll be fine.

Thank God for that Billboard cover, it came at the perfect time. Mariah is like an angel that can brighten up my darkest day, whether it's through song or a simple beautiful photo. She was put on this earth for a reason, I'm so ready for this album like you'll never believe and I pray no one or nothing stop it from going to the top and just sitting there Adele style. Viva la diva.
