I just wanted to wish all the posters here and the webmaster a Happy Easter.

MC farewell album? (42,723) by Gilles from Malta
I really think it is not a farewell album, but we all know that it is the last album that Mariah made for Island Def Jam because she signed for 5 albums. I am sure she will make something different to escape the music industry. As we know MC, she lives for music, it is her saving grace, so we know that she won't really stop. She wants to be really free and take her time for her children and do not really get a big schedule. I think that's the reason why she wrote the "Art of letting go" and it makes sense.

Mariah's new album (42,722) by Edge McQueen from Philippines
Mariah's new album will be a double album entitled "Songbird" and "Sweet Soul Odyssey". The first CD will contain Mariah-only tracks like "You're Mine" and "The Art of Letting Go" and perhaps some Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson covers/tributes. The second CD will feature collaborations with Stevie Wonder, Miguel, Nas, Wale, Maxwell, Fabolous and few other surprises. It will be initially released as an iTunes exclusive and can only be bought as an album because Mariah wants us to listen to it in its entirety. The new single is coming out as early as next week. I just hope Mariah can loose weight before the album is released so she could promote it properly.

Retirement and pushback (42,721) by Randy from USA
I'm more than positive that MC is not retiring. That wouldn't make sense. Even if the voice was in tatters or the buying public just aren't buying anymore, she loves music. Here's what would happen first. She would continue to make albums quietly like Annie Lennox, Dionne Warwick, Cher, Aretha, Diana Ross and Patti. She would also stop releasing vocal performances from the studio that she can't replicate live. That's the way her career would be after this album, if the album flops. No one really retires. Even if they announce it, like JayZ did a long time ago. Now to address a pushback, Daydream327: I thought for awhile she would push the album back but I really think a pushback would have been announced by now. Now I could be wrong, and we could all be disappointed in a few weeks, but what in the world would be her excuse and how could she possibly make that right with the lambs? She did say a month or so ago: I am going into the studio and I am not coming out until the album is done. She has pretty much stuck to that promise so I think she'll stick to May 6.

Pushback? Nope (42,720) by T from USA
Guys, May 6th is the only date we got since the orginal pushback of last July. It's not like she keeps changing the date over and over. It was July 23rd, then she thought she wanted more time to work on it and now it's May 6th, period. Enjoy the album.

I love "The art of letting go" (42,719) by David F from Mexico
I just want to thank MC for making TAOLG. Thanks, it drains all my pain. I love how she gives saving messages, last artists to do so.

It's almost 5/6, time to unite lambs (42,718) by Louie Baltazar from Philippines
Let's all unite and make this upcoming album #1 around the globe.

Album pushback (42,717) by Daydream327 from USA
This is just my my opinion and observation, but I think the album may be pushed back again. I wish I'm proven wrong though. But I believe when YME was released Mariah nor the label didn't think it would tank so bad. Yeah, Mariah can say she doesn't care about commercial success anymore, but let's be real, if she didn't then the album would have been released already. I don't think Mariah's ego will allow her to release an album without a hit song. I just wish she thinks differently though and just decides to release the album. At this point I think pushing it back would hurt more than just releasing it on May 6th. I can guarantee that if this album is indeed pushed back people will no longer have much interest, if any. That's why she just needs to release it for the fans. MC needs to realize there will come a time where she's not gonna be as popular as she once was and just accept her legacy and accomplishments as is. It happens to every artist. Once she stops thinking about the charts, I believe she'll become more comfortable and grow musically as well. I wish she would just take the Prince route after this album. Anyhow, either way the album probably will not have huge 1st week sales and I think this is what Mariah/label is worried about.

Retirement (42,716) by Bill from the UK
I really hope this isn't Mariah's last album, as I have a feeling it will be one of her best. Something is telling me that it will join the "holy trinity" of Daydream, Butterfly and Emancipation, three creative and career peaks in my opinion. I completely understand her wanting to spend time with Nick and her children, so if it is going to be four year waits between albums because of that then so be it, but for it to be her last would devastate me.

Mariah won't stop (42,715) by Marquise from USA
Mariah Carey has said numerous times that she won't stop making music because it's her passion. It's like a part of her, it helps her get away and get through pain any many other things. I can't see Mariah not making more music, she was born into music. It's been with her all her life, it's something very close to her, especially songwriting. PS. I'm excited about the rumors of her performing at the Billboard Awards, American Idol next month. Also I think her album will be named "Journey". She's been using that a lot when speaking about the album.

Vocal rest (42,714) by Joyce from USA
I just hope she doesn't sound like she just woke up as in the last song released. I think all that vocal bed rest took a toll. It's like a marathon runner on couch rest. It's true we are more flexible in our youth but as we age, to stay in shape, muscles require exercise, warm-ups and practice to remain in the sport and signing definitely is a sport in which Mariah at one time, was the best of the best. She went from broke at nineteen sweeping floors to mega-millions in just a few years. I wish she could go to vocal physical therapy re-hab re-training. I love to hear her at her best again.

Rumor (42,713) by G.G. from USA
I've heard that Mariah is performing on American Idol May 14th. Re QueenMc, have you heard the album or is that what you've heard about the album?

Album title prediction, farewell or retirement related (42,712) by ADAM from USA
I think the reason is she purposely not revealing the album title yet is because it's going to signal that this is her last album. She said on ET Canada that she has a title and that she wouldn't disclose it yet. That's because when promo time comes the 1st week it's out all the questions will pertain to the name and as MC said earlier, the songs should be listened to in sequence and thus will all make sense in the total bigger picture. This would make sense if this were a grand farewell album. Think about it - The Art of Letting Go is so vague without having the context of the rest of the songs on the LP. This is my opinion. Let's see who agrees with me.

Just a thought (42,711) by Gilbert from USA
You know how there is all these delays. Mariah has to have some good material and I thought to myself, if she has alot of material (even songs that haven't been released, but is recorded) she should add those songs and remove the songs she already released. That's just taking up space on her album. Just my opinion and don't see it as a bad thing, if someone wants the song it's always available for purchase as a single.

Saving All Her Love? Whitney tribute? (42,710) by Spir Ja from USA
That is one heck of a song to sing and MC, I'm sure, wanted to tribute nippy. This will be great. No doubt on that song list either. And she's making a stand with no sampling. About to start recording my album, a song cycle based on a Wall Street 1%er that stole my retirement. Any feed back on the vocals before recording starts appreciated.

New album info (42,709) by QueenMc from Usa, California
The new album is very Minnie Riperton/The Sherelles sounding, it has a very old sound from the 70's with a R&B hip hop twist to it. Sounds of bird chirping and some very high notes. A gospel song with an opera feeling with a touch of the ferris wheel sound.

Album on lockdown (42,708) by QueenMc from Usa, California
Mariah's been holding down alot of secrecy about the album. All the hint I can tell you is "ferris wheel".

Sample (42,707) by Darryle from USA
Mariah said in an early interview she wasn't going to use samples on this album. Well I for one really hope that Mariah doesn't go back on her word. Samples aren't really a big deal in the music industry but I'd like to see what Mariah can come up with. I think if she chose one sample or cover I'd be okay with it more but with samples she just writing lyrics and rearranging things. Same thing for covers minus the writing. To me it's just a waste of album space that could be used to do something ultra creative. That being said, some of Mariah's best songs use samples or are covers. Breakdown and Fantasy use samples. Without You and Bringing On The Heartbreak are both covers.

Tracklist (42,705) by Angelo from Italy
I think it's a fake tracklist, c'mon 18 songs? No way, this album is not Butterfly style, like Charmbracelet and Memoirs, it will be a party kind of album. 12/13 songs. And it's impossible to have Beautiful as the first song, I mean, it's a Mimi album and the first voice you hear is Miguel's? No way. And TAOLG too, it's impossible at second place, that song will be the 10th or 11th track as one of the desserts.

Both the snippets and the rumoured tracklist are confirmed fakes.

Snippets (42,702) by Ryan from the Philippines
Are those fake? It sounds so real to me. If that would be the sound of the new album then I'm definitely buying it the first day.

Passion (42,701) by OGmattyICE from US
I personally love the passion in Mariah's voice from "Through The Rain" and "Without You". IMO Mariah sings best when she has inspiration and belts out strong notes from her soul. With having become a mom having babies is a big inspiration, I think we could hear a song with the same caliber of the 2 aforementioned songs on the new CD with her passionate vocals. Although #Beautiful, Triumphant and YME didn't have them for me, TAOLG did have some. That soul is coming, I can just feel it. Could be Mariah's "surprise" we're all waiting for. Who knows? I'm excited for the album.

Odds (42,700) by David F from Mexico
I've read in a magazine that the people under the aries zodiac are paying karmas, maybe it's the reason. I hoped she had performed Obssesed at MTV back in the days with the dancers dresseed up like them, all in hoodies. That song was meant to be no 1, but she is hard to work out more the songs.

Listening party (42,699) by tyler morex from USA
Hey lambs. I was at the listening party and she sampled an old song from the 80's. I managed to track it down. [Webmaster: I won't post the sample. Before you know it, Mariah has similar problems as with Loverboy.]
