Snippets and previews (40,578) by Carol from Spain
People are so used to have things before the release dates that they don't want to wait. I miss the times where you had to wait for things to be heard on the day of release. When music wasn't made like fast food and in a hurry. Why would she hint something now, if we're getting the album this spring and single next month? By keeping us in the haze, only proves how special this work is for her. And everyone knows (here I go again) that Mariah was never the woman to make previews of music - why would that change now? Wait. Respect. Appreciate. L4L.

Disappointment but not disrespectful (40,577) by Edward from USA
I was actually very disappointed because I was expecting news about the single or the album. I knew for a fact that the track listing of the album wasn't it because it is evident that the album is not ready yet. I thought we would be treated to a small sample of the new single or something like that. Many of us were up untill late waiting in anticipation of this announcement, and that contributed to the frustration of many fans. I don't believe in being disrespectful to Mariah though. There's not reason to get personal by calling her names either. At the end of the day we are all eager to listen to her new music. It is as if we were desperate anticipating this album that has taken more than four years to finish and it is not there yet.

Thank you, you read my mind. The contest is for a good cause, for the children. Let's try to support Mariah with this contest. I'm pretty sure she was excited about coming up with this idea about the private concert and the heart necklace contest. Let's remember Mariah is a superstar but she has feelings too.

Sunshine DivaLamb - thank you (40,575) by Carol from Spain
Finally someone with a clear head. You rock and Mariah needs more fans like you girl. LYM. Fans tought it was about music, she would never call "pip announcement " to a music release (every fan know that). Yes, like everyone else, I tought it was about music and I wished it was, but to go and call her all the curse words in the book, that is just desrespectful. Maybe Mariah doesn't give a damn, but put yourselves in her shoes and say: would you be glad to see something you consider important to you be considered stupid and non-relevant? That is just mean to her. Are these the type of people that are going to buy her record? Because if it is, I wish her good luck. Now imagine what they'll do if the album doesn't meet their expectations. Have some respect for her, because she's donating her time and her house for the good of others.

New single strategy (40,574) by Martyn from England, UK
So we're going to hear Mariah's new song on Valentine's Day. What do we think the strategy will be for this release? The Art Of Letting Go Facebook release didn't really work, and I'm not sure Mariah has the momentum behind her at the moment to release a single straight away and have it chart highly. Do we think Mariah is going to premiere the song and then promo it before its official release, or do we think it will literally be released on V-day, the day we hear it? Or will there perhaps be some promo before V-day and then release it on V-day? What does everybody think the best strategy would be?

Disappointed really? (40,571) by Jeremey Carey from United States
I was only upset because of how late she waited to tell us and how long she dragged it out! People thought that the "you want my heart?" question was directed towards music and she wanted to like midnight where I live to announce that it was about some jewelry. I don't think she should have made that status about it being a super pip announcment, she should have just made the announcement on Monday without building up to. So yeah I wasn't the happiest lamb in all the land.

I'm only disappointed in the reaction of [...] lambs (40,568) by Sunshine Divalamb from Germany
Sometimes it's not about the music. It's sad to see that people call what Mariah did disappointing! The only thing disappointing here is the fact that some put a shadow over this (great) cause and only think about what they want. Well newsflash, sometimes it's not about the US or Mariah, but about others that need our help, like in this case the sick children. She never said it would be about the new album/single or tour dates. We did that to ourselves, thinking it would be about that. To call Mariah a [...] saying I hate you and you are so unprofessional only makes me wonder why some still consider themselves a lamb/fan to be honest. We know we get a new single on February 14th, the album is coming out in the spring and after that we will be sure to hear when the tour will start. It's getting so old that so many are just waiting for Mariah to do something so they can bash her and lash out.

We Belong Together (40,567) by Ryan from the Philippines
Cheers to MC for spawning her first Vevo Certified video for We Belong Together, despite the fact that it was only made available on VeVo 4 years after TEOM's release. Congatulations!

Carla / Mimi (40,566) by Licia from USA
It's good to know I wasn't the only one pissed at how the fans acted on Twitter. I too was disappointed it wasn't music news, but it's a great thing that she's doing and I appreciate her dedication to the cause. The way they attacked this woman made me ashamed to be a fan. This reminds me of that time the rumor was that Mariah would cut her hair for cancer patients. They went on an on about how she would look without her hair instead of focusing on what good she would be doing for cancer patients. The rumor was false anyway.

Carla (40,563) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I agree with you. I mean yes I was disappointed about the announcement, but that doesn't mean people will write her off. It's an amazing gesture on he part, she is giving away something so personal. In fact there was even a discussion on this board a while back about the necklace if I am not mistaken. I would die to be able to enter and win that contest. Entering Mariah's home is a huge deal by itself, having her sing to me personally would give me a heart attack on spot, and on top of that her giving me a part of her history, I'll die for sure. Like many fans I am disappointed too, but it's fine, we waited so long, and she already said the new single is out next month, I'm cool with it. However I do want her to bring her best this time, strong songs, amazing promotions, great/meaningful videos. If she loves being sexy I don't mind, but the videos should be like Heartbreaker, Honey, It's Like That and other great video concepts she had instead of being like #Beautiful, H.A.T.E.U. and "things of that nature" which looks like it was done on low budget and without proper planning/storyline.

I agree with Carla (40,562) by Tony from Ireland
It is true that she didn't say anything about music, but she did at the same time, because we do know that she,is going to release a single on Valentine's day, and she did say already that the album is due in Spring, enough to make me happy. [...] I mean, I have friends who are fans of Michael Jackson and they told me that lately his gaps between albums where almost 6 years. C'mon. Well, now I'm wondering how the new album cover is going to be, because if the pictures that she has chosen for her Facebook page (I know they are old ones) are an indicator of how is going to look... That's why I do love MC, she makes my head go. Hahaha.

clueey (40,561) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Chill out a little. You gave a name which I didn't like so what? My point of view shouldn't determine anything. But yes I do like your idea of bringing guests, I enjoyed it when it was done in TEOM. I would pick a name but for that I would like to wait and see what's the name of her next single or album, so that the name is more "current". But off the top of my head I'd say "the Mariah Carey 2014 World Tour", "Mariah Carey Forever", "the Triumphant world tour" (I m sure she won't use it), "Mariah Carey I''m that chick tour" (ok maybe i'm stretching it here). "Memoirs the Mariah Carey world tour", "Mariah Carey: for the record", "I Am Mariah Carey", "Mariah Carey the vision". My set list would be- (not in that order though)
Butterfly
I stay in love
Without you
Never forget you
Breakdown
The art of letting go
Bringin' on the heartbreak
Fly like a bird
The one
Heartbreaker
I still believe
Inseperable
I chose these because some of these showcases her amazing range, some she doesn't sing at all nowadays and some more r&b influenced. I would probably add some more, but yes I would like her to sing these. Although some may have to be cut out due to time constraints.

Pip announcement was amazing (40,560) by Carol from Spain
Don't be upset simply because you got your hopes too high for something she never promissed. It's the fans fault if they tought it was music related. Don't you think, if it was related to music, there would be something from JD too? Think before you act. Now, the way some people are lashing at Mariah, calling her [...] yesterday on twitter, are you for real? I mean, who didn't like it go away. And some are just ungrateful sons of [...] because some of us can't even apply to the contest. I would love to have a piece like this, an item that she wore on several number one songs, the MTV Unplugged and the Grammys. Are you kidding? Get a life and move along. The lambily is a mess because some are just to childish to deal with disappointment. If Mariah hits big, they'll come back running saying she is the best and I'll tell them to get off.

JD, make it happen (40,559) by B from USA
Mariah needs to go back to basics. She needs to write lyrics and songs like she did back in the 90's, just update her sound by working with the best producers of today. Make more songs like #Beautiful. Happy Perez, The Smeezingtons, and Bruno. You, yourself was once a talented producer. You produced the biggest albums and songs of 04 and 05, Usher and Mariah. Prove you and MC still have that magic, that fire. You two wrote Always Be My Baby and We Belong Together. 2014 is the year of the comeback and another epic era for MC. 2/14.

Mariah's St. Jude's heart necklace charity (40,558) by B from USA
She wore that necklace at the Grammy's. While accepting her awards for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for Vision Of Love and while giving the best debut performance of any artist female or male. It's a must have for any Mariah fan. How isn't this big news with the other lambs like myself. She also wore it in the Love Takes Time video!

Announcement (40,557) by Tony from Ireland
I was thrilled about the announcement and I have to say that it was awesome. Of course I would love to have a new album now, but c'mon. Would any of you die to have part of Mariah's history on your hands? I do remember to watch those videos and for some reason, my eyes where on that little heart. She was using it for more than 3 years. She is just amazing, and I wondering who will be the winner for Valentine's day. And if she is making another world tour, It would be fantastic to call it simply "The MC world tour 2014" because she is telling us that this album would be one of her most personals yet. Love and peace.

Re: Mimi (40,556) by clueey23 from USA
Besides your criticisms of my post and ideas, what is your idea? Do you have any thoughts about a tour title and a set list? It's all for fun, something that this board tends to forget how to do. All I tend to see on this board time and time again is just people attacking each other. I've been coming to this site for over a decade and the conversations have become so uninspired.

The announcement (40,554) by Licia from USA
I was disappointed that it wasn't news on the album or the new song, but I choose to focus on the good she's doing for a good cause. I agree she should not have made us wait. She should have just revealed it or said "pip announcement for the St. Jude charity". Anyway as I said, it's a good cause and I'm not going to cry about it too long. Lol. I was extra disappointed in how the fans on Twitter acted. It's hard to be sympathetic with them when they act like savages and are so dramatic.

Mariah: unplugged and acoustic (40,553) by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
That should be the name of her concert. It's about time Mariah changes all her old songs arrangement to an acoustic and unplugged version. Meaning, it would only be Mariah and her microphone and be backed by only a guitar or piano. Just listen to her recent performance at Jimmy Fallon where it's only her and a piano. She can also take her time to finish the song (ala Whitney style).

Announcement / tour game (40,552) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Ugh super disappointed darling. Why Mariah why (said like Mariah). I was checking her page again and again to read the announcement even though I was pretty sure it would be just the official single announcement. Then after so long it arrives and it's about the charity, which is a great gesture on her part, but like someone else pointed out, why wait for 2 days to announce it? Plus no details whatsoever on the new single. Just that it comes out on February. Only people who saw the NYE performance know the date fixed is 14th February. With exactly a month left shouldn't she start with hyping up the single so that it gets a lot of attention? I almost expected the announcement would be of the album. But alas. I'll only wait on MC, if it was anyone else I would have given up. But this time I want her to do it right. And about the other "game" about dream tour, I wouldn't want it to be called "Art of letting go", it would sound like a farewell album. Plus the "intimate night" part has already been used for Charmbracelet, right? So what's the point?
(Tuesday 14 January 2014; 15:13)
New game (40,551) by clueey23 from USA
I don't know how many times we've listed our favorite albums and songs on this board, but what about a new game. What would be your dream tour? I think it should be simply called "The Art of Letting Go Tour, an Intimate Night with Mariah Carey". I would like her to play smaller venues, clubs and theaters at the beginning of her tour and let it grow from there. And on certain dates she has guests. For example, instead of Always Be My Baby original, she got Xscape and Brat to do the remix with her one show.
