Will Ferrell hints at Mariah's diva antics on set

Will Ferrell has hinted that Mariah Carey's diva demands caused her cameo to be cut from The House. The actor and comedian is currently promoting the comedy film, in which he teams with Amy Poehler to play a couple who destroy their daughter's college fund and then decide to start an illegal casino with their neighbours to make the money back.

The House features appearances from Jeremy Renner, Nick Kroll, and Alexandra Daddario, but Will has now confirmed that a planned guest spot from Mariah had to be dropped. "She eventually did show up. There were suggestions that were not executed. She was on our set and yeah, things happened, and didn't happen," he said during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Tuesday night. "She did not make the final cut."

Will didn't detail exactly what the We Belong Together singer did to get herself deleted from the flick but indicated that her extravagant requirements meant that the shoot ran off-schedule. "Let's put it this way, at about midnight I got a knock on my trailer and they said, 'You can just go home, we're not going to get to you'," he said, adding jokingly that while the Mariah drama was "all for naught" at least the footage shot could possibly make for some "fun" DVD extras.

The Anchorman star isn't the only member of The House cast to call out the superstar, with actor Rob Huebel criticising her onset behaviour during an interview with SiriusXM's Entertainment Weekly Radio in May. He divulged that she showed up "four hours late" to the set, asked for her trailer to be stocked with "all white roses" and stuffed animals, before requesting alterations be made to change the song she was hired to perform.

"We did some reshoots with a popstar named Mariah Carey. It did not go well," he said. "F**king what is going on with her? It was bananas." The House hits cinemas from the end of the month.

And now Will Ferrell too? Who actually attended her Vegas show. Stella might or might not involved how things went in there but everything will always comes down to Mariah. Mariah really keeps pushing the limits.

Damn, and Will Ferrell is Mariah's friend. This is embarrassing. People used to praise working with Mariah as being so "focused and extremely professional", and now she's getting cut from her own friend's film, doing a simple cameo no less. This makes me so disappointing because so few people want to work with her since American Idol.

People are getting worked up over a cameo? Really. The movie gonna flop anyways. If Will has done his homework, he would know that a lot of the movies that she was in ended up as blockbusters.

Are they getting worked up? I think they're just saying that they invited her to appear for 5 minutes in the film, it took until midnight to get it done because she was late and then started making ridiculous requests, they ended up sending everyone else home, and after all that the footage was pretty much unusable so they left it on the cutting room floor. Mariah knows the public is amused when she plays the diva. So whenever she makes a public appearance she emphasizes the diva antics. The thing is, Mariah used to be able to backup her diva behavior with her incredible talent. When you've got the goods, you get a pass. But when your antics start to outweigh your talents, well you can look up Lindsay Lohan. People just decide they would rather not go through all that. Mariah needs to realize that while the fans might find her diva antics amusing, her peers might not. And she should definitely not take that attitude to work. The cast and crew are not adoring lambs who think she can do no wrong.

I have a feeling that the entourage has more to do with demanding all this than MC herself. And real lambs will always have unconditional love for MC.

They probably wanted her to sing live, but she refused. Or make her do a little dance routine aside from awkwardly touching herself from head to waist - running her pointy fingers laughably on her skin, up and down until her forearm was behind her head. Haha. She's really buying into her diva persona now more than ever. What a disgrace.

"Real lambs" will always call out Mariah for BS like this, because they know deep down she is capable of so much more than these unprofessional antics. Unconditional love is also rather unlikely for someone not family or extremely close friend. That being said, unconditional love is not synonymous for unconditional excuses for bad behavior. Mariah is becoming immune to critique and is the lesser for it.
