Thank you Eric for running this website. I really appreciate it, because I love this site. Checked the MCA news directly after I was able to on this morning. I had no doubt that this time Mariah is "doing it right". I'm a proud lamb too. Happy New Year to the MCA family.

VOL was shaky. Hero was great. Mariah looked painfully nervous with a smile. Performance was 100% live which I give Mariah mad respect because it was freezing outside. Overall it was good enough. May have been a bit more festive if an up tempo song was performed. I don't wanna sound too negative but it would be nice if Mariah can loose the "diva" act sometimes. It was cold as hell outside and she performs in a gown? Come on Mimi loosen up girl. I wasn't mad at the snowbear fake mink but why not wear a pair pants with some killer boots or something? Yes, overall the performance was good but straight up it killed my buzz.

It was an intentional pause to make the audience think there was going to be another snafu.

Congrats, Eric. I remember finding your site in 1998 and falling in love. I didn't join the message board until years later but I've always checked the news every morning. Here's to another 20 years.

Both songs fit the night's theme of unity. Finding faith and overcoming obstacles. She sang live, even the Hero climax she always lypsyncs, and she was engaging, funny, and self depreciating. Watching the performances a second time showed how she played it safe during VOL to be able to hit the big notes in Hero and I think did an excellent job. I'm a proud Lamb this morning. Happy New Year, Lambily.

Good show. I'm sure it was tough as hell to sing through those conditions and the pressure of the world waiting for her to stumble but she did good. Funny how Hero turned out to be her shining moment that shut us all up. The climax seemed live, you could tell she even needed half a second to recover from it. VOL, I wish the end could have been less rushed and she could have taken her time to shine there but she made it work. I still think ILT would have been an awesome opening choice followed by Hero where she could prove herself more. Anyway we can all breathe now. And wow she did look amazing too. Here's hoping 2018 goes well for her and all of you.

During VOL her nerves had her in her head but she pulled through. As much as many fans complained about Hero I am sure that most if not all are glad she chose to go with this song. After all that happened last year her performance of Hero showed strength, courage, and resilience. Today is another example of no matter what happens I still support our girl after all these years. Thank you MC you are our hero.

Mariah Carey braves subzero temperatures (80,195)
by Licia from USA

She really did do a good job. VOL was rocky in some parts, but she sang it live and I honestly didn't expect her to. Her actually trying always makes me proud. Glad that they realized Hero is where she truly shined. She sang her heart out and shut me the hell up. It looked and sounded 100% all her. If it wasn't 100% live, I give props to whomever taught her to lip better because I couldn't tell. If it was actually all her, again I didn't expect her to attempt all live. Whatever or whomever woke her up (even if it's Banaka'she old funky ass lol) I hope it continues to motivate her to do better. She ended 2017 with a bang.

NYE ... no "tea" (80,192)
by Tijl from Belgium
| |
|
|
As soon as I woke up this morning I frantically started searching the web for news about last night's performance (there is an 6 hour time difference with Belgium). I had no doubts Mariah would take this opportunity very seriously and that she would understand how the gravitas of the outcome would affect her future career. She did very, very well considering the circumstances. Too bad the press only focuses on her request for tea. However I do believe she was making jokes and referring to the gossip and headlines (it's tea though) she was creating by her performance. After the performance she posted "found my tea". Yes girl, you found your tea and the haters will have a hard time to swallow.

She's been vindicated. Point blank period. She sounded wonderful, and especially slayed Hero. Can't sing who? Vocals on point even during 9 degree weather. Happy New Year lambily. Hopefully this great performance is a sign that we all will have a great year.

Happy New Year everybody (80,187)

Happy New year and all the best. She did it again. Bravo what a nice and honest performance, not too fancy but with lead vocals only. I really loved the way she introduced Hero by saying those words "Let's try to make a better world and more united planet, because you are true heroes." Thank you Mariah for speaking the truth, it is only united that we will change the world.

Wow 20 years and all alone doing all the posts? I found you around 2005 when TEOM was making headlines. MCArchives and MariahDaily was my go to. I was obsessed with the updates. MCA is still up and not all can imagine and appreciate the time and effort you have poured into this. I thank you from the deepest of my heart, and I wish Mariah to give a flood of fantastic music and vocals so we fans could continue living as her supporters. Have a happy successful new year this 2018 my dear.

I think she did very well. I was sad watching it, as she looked nervous as hell, rightly so. Of course the media have skipped over the fact that she nailed it, and are zoning in on the "tea disaster".
